My understanding is that it is more related to anal sex than LGBT. Just that LGBT is more likely to engage in anal sex. I really wonder... Is the number of infections spread across the spectrum or is it more prevalent among the gays?

Transmission rates are surprisingly "low" for vaginal sex. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating unsafe sex if hetero but just saying that's the reason why the incidences are higher among LGBT.
