Quite common if i recall correctly. But does check engine light shows up? When my brake switch fail, check engine light turned on.
*
No check engine light, probably because the brake switch failed mechanically. Somehow it shorted and plastic melted. Burned my finger a bit.

Finally after 1 year and half, engine braking somehow returned back to my car. Really annoying when the car switched lower gear going down hill.

Before this auto engine braking mysteriously disappeared after I send the car for A/C servicing. A/C shop took off the battery for the whole day, probably reset some settings. Last week I send the car for wiring repair because brake switch went kaput, somehow the car now feels bit sluggish.

Thanks for all the feedback .... my overheat problem seems to be a simple one, which many people actually overlooked it. It is caused by my radiator cap, the mechanic checked and suspected it was caused by it, since he noticed some coolant at the cap there. All other things were ok, so he just replaced the cap and top up water. Driving for 2 weeks seems no overheat issue anymore.

Now another issue I'm facing after the overheat issue, is the speedometer sometimes at 0km/h. I googled and most was saying speed sensor issue. Anyone getting this problem? Might need to visit the mechanic again.  sweat.gif

The meter. Sounds like the meter need fixing.

If its the speed sensor the car will go on limp mode.

Didnt know the thread still so active.
2015 sv owner 190k km service this friday.
i still go sc couz lazy to track on my fluids.
Mechanical parts alot done outside

changed
1) mounting, stering bush
2) drift shaft
3) front absorber, absorber mounting , stabalizer link(i think)
gone one question, my break sometimes feel lembut after long driving
Master pump?

I recently just change brake fluids, its better but still abit lembut SOMETIMES.

do we need to service brake calipers?
*
Get a professional to check the brake lines. If nothing leaks, probably just your brake pads.

I used Brembo semi metallic brake pad for a short while. It was not good because how inconsistent the braking feels. When the brake pad gets hot, I have to hit the brake harder.

Hi guys. Have a little question here.

I noticed the radiator top coolant hose on my car have a bit of leak. Bit of coolant can be seen hardened around the hose. The mechanic used a lot of grey RTV Silicone around the hose, the coolant leaks around the silicone area.

Been like this since last April. My car is not losing coolant.

Sometimes after a long drive, I can smell the sweet smell of the coolant.

Should I get this fixed as soon as possible? I'm planning to get it fixed together when changing the timing belt and water pump when I got the time.

Personally I think the acceleration of our model is better compare to the new Persona.
The only thing is the steering floating feel is more compared to the newer one.

Any suggestion on this?  confused.gif
Especially when speed go beyond 110 km/h.

I replaced everything on the front end and all the suspension parts on the rear. Well worth the money.

I had them replaced slowly because lack of funds. If you do it in one go, you'll save more. The car was feeling bit floaty and jumpy when I drive 120km, only after I replaced the rear suspension the car feels solid and planted on the ground.

hmm, I replaced engine mounting before.
Think need to check all those one more time ~  cool2.gif

Engine mounting only to eliminates the vibrations coming from your engine. Nothing to relate with floaty feeling steering.

Our car is old. Really old. Need to replace all suspension parts to make it feel new again.

Oh, in case you're doing full replacement of the suspension parts, don't buy the cheapo aftermarket no brand/mitsubishi from shopee. Buy something with a brand name, they will last longer. Better yet, find Proton original is the best, but they cost a pretty penny.

How's your persona doing?

Today I found my rear brake light shorted. One of the light bulb socket melted. Now the bulb stuck inside the rear light thingy because it was melted by the heat.

compressor oil is important to be replaced. just like engine oil. some ppl dont replace them,
*
all these years the ac never got serviced, it was ice cold all the time. like really cold, proton cold level. it was just after i sent it to service it only lasted for 1 year +. that was after i paid the shop to full service everything. probably because i now use the car all the time instead leaving it parked at home. tongue.gif

i drive it daily.
what i can feel after service is that under hot day i put 25 or higher also feel dam cold.
after 1.5 years no service i notice i need to put slightly lower than 25 to achieve the same effect.
not sure is me or what hahaah
*
just finished sending the car for flushing. at first i said to the shop, car ac not as cold as it was. guy was a bit confused because it is already cold. said i'm not losing any refrigerant gas, so best thing he could suggest is do flushing, change compressor oil.

2 hours later, already can feel the difference, but it still not as cold as i remember - like hand numbingly cold. probably because i already got used to cold climate?

Hey people. Car problem again. This time found that the engine oil totally drained. Underside of the car engine oil splattered everywhere. Visual inspection, seems like the the oil sump is intact, i didn't hit a rock or anything. Could it be leaking from crank shaft?

Don't know how long this happened, only notice it today when the engine sounds like diesel engine.

Can only know by you filling it up with engine oil again and observe where the leak was from.
However with such magnitude it should be easy to track. Maybe need to use carburator cleaner to clean up the mess to see where the leak starts.

My car has slow leak from front and rear crankshaft oil seal. But not very fast.

Do keep us updated.
*
it turns out the leaks came from the oil pressure switch. lol.

i don't know how long this had been going on. but it explains why the burning smell i kept smelling around my car. the mechanic sounded me why i drove to his shop instead of get the car towed.

Have you experienced the car suddenly lurching forward while in slow traffic or accelerating from low speeds (0 to 15 km/h)? Additionally, it seems to jerk while braking in drive (D).

I've also noticed that my fuel consumption appears unusually high, as indicated by the onboard readings showing 11.3 liters per 100 kilometers. This seems abnormally high, especially considering I mostly drive short distances within the city due to the proximity of my office to my house.

I'm contemplating whether it's time to replace my car due to these issues, coupled with the upcoming removal of fuel subsidies.
*
The jerking before a stop sounds like a problem I had before this. Replacing the ATF and use correct amount (should be 4 and half bottle). 2nd is I replaced the auto tensioner using original part. Aftermarket part just not up to par with original quality. Original is like RM300+.

Guys, today when driving to work the check engine light suddenly turned on. Im hearing quite loud engine tapping. When I stop the car, noise is gone. Shut the engine, and start again, the check engine light gone.

Sudden spark plug failure?
