if like really drop for the huge size SSD i.e 1tb..i plan to install it in my NAS

QUOTE(Rubypoyo @ Jul 27 2018, 10:27 AM)
Bro, for NAS is better use HDD, no point using SDD if just want to use to to save personal data.

QUOTE(thxxht @ Jul 27 2018, 10:33 AM)
mechanical drives still best for value in terms of $ / gb, mechanical drives also last longer. I have a IDE drive that i still use from my college days 10+ years ago, they are tough as hell, so they are better for long term storage.

the NAS controller probably will die first long before a mechanical drive does.

+1

Even if you put the fastest SSD on the market today, you will still be limited to the network connectivity limitation of your NAS box.

End of the day is it still worth taking the risk for this Kingston A400 series SSD? Since is so cheap?

That’s the thing. 240gb variant just rm 175. A gap of mere rm 70 to gain another 120gb of space.

Still worry that this low end model A400. How bad can it be.

But I think 120gb enough. I’ve another pc using 120gb intel SSD 335 series, still left 66gb.

Nice one bro, took 10 days to reach here.
Actually saw the Micron MX500 1TB available during Amazon Prime Day @ RM650 shipped each but that time realized that I've already used up my cc limit.  cry.gif
