Hi Charles, please see cashier's post above, but might need to reconfirm as bro chonghe mentioned below. Do you have this card too? Please let us know as I have not updated the post #01 until 2 or more person confirm usually.

So far never top up BP with HSBC.
However, my last month x5 reward points has yet to be credited (additional x4 for online purchase).
Sometimes the additional points are given quite fast (within a week or 2), sometimes about a month.
My HSBC usage is very low nowadays, merely use once per month to avoid AF.
Nevertheless, I will try to top up BP with HSBC and post here once I get the additional reward points.

BP no longer accepting CIMB voucher code on shopee? It is still showing CIMB logo, but after applying CIMB code, I still need to pay full upon checkout.

This is not bad too RM 1.20 per air mile.
*
I don't see much reason to get MBB WMC instead of M2P.
The only advantage for WMC is evergreen airmiles.
Also, you need to spend 120k to waive AF (compare to 80k for M2P).
If you can spend 120k annually, basically you don't need evergreen airmiles.

Yup, M2P only need Rm 0.90 spending to get 1 air miles.
Btw, only TP get expired right? Air miles also have expiry dates?
*
WMC gives Air miles - no expiry
M2P gives TP - 3 years

Note: WMC air miles is NOT Enrich air miles, Enrich air miles do have expiry

Ya, i am aware of TP 3 years expiry day.
If we redeem air mile by using TP, the air miles also have expiry date?
Or should i ask this question in the other thread?
*
I think most of the air miles have 3 years expiry
So you can redeem TP at the end of 3rd year and technically you have close to 6 years to use your airmiles (3+3)

Is this mean if I top up rm 3k via MBB FCB credit card then I go CIMB jaya one atm to withdraw it out. I can make the following profit?
1) 2% cash back from MBB FCB : RM 60
2) atm processing fees : RM 6
Total profit rm 60 - rm 6 = rm 54
*
Yes, but best don't just reload and withdraw, swipe and use the money inside BP for your daily expenses.
Don't exploit and kill the golden goose.

Hi guys, did bigPay have charges on oversea transaction?

I did swipe one transaction in China on November 1 , which is RMB 800 ( MYR 479.65)  , and the initial currency rate was RM 59.95 per RMB 100.

And I have constantly checked the currency on November 2 and 3, the currency rate is at Myr 60.4 per RMB 100.

However today ( November 3) , the transaction final settle is MYR 495.53. Which equivalent to MYR61.94 per RMB 100, that’s a huge difference in currency.

Anyone has any idea on this?

QUOTE(voncrane @ Nov 3 2018, 08:45 AM)
You should read the previous pages.. This has already been debated.. Initial quote is just that, an initial quote.. Final amount depends on later fx rates. RM weakened recently.

This is something good, we need more of such data for analysis.
Rule of thumb:
1. Final rate depends on settlement date - 3-Nov (today, check MC rate online, latest available is 2-Nov, US date; 3-Nov still not available)
2. We were told that bank fee is 0%

Below is how I analyze (I might be wrong):
Google for mastercard currency conversion calculator.
Input date 2-Nov (latest available to choose)
Bank fee - 0%
Transaction Currency - CNY
Card Currency - MYR
Transaction amount - (CNY) 100
Calculate - RM60.72 - this is much lower than 61.94 stated above

Now change Bank fee into 2%
Calculate - RM61.93 - very close to 61.94!!!

Does this mean that "someone" is charging 2% in between?
Or shall I wait for "3-Nov" rate and compare again?

Checked the rate today with 3-Nov, the rate maintains at RM60.72.
So, there is still 2% on top of it.
Please submit more samples to monitor BP actual rate.

Actually I have used few times for BigPay linked from Alipay, rate is as good as XE.com.
Of course after adding in the standard 3% and no more additional. Looks like I will need to try soon.
*
Do note that XE.com has even better rate than Mastercard rate.
Using same example 100 CNY; XE.com gets RM60.42; while MC rate gets RM60.72 (0% fee).

Please share with us more data to confirm this is an isolated case.

Your card is likely to get suspended pending investigation.
I think you should report to BigPay support and wait for their official reply and share here for everyone's benefit.
*
This is not my transaction, I can't report to BP.
Just help out with the calculation on foreign exchange (to ensure that BP is not charging us extra).

As you said, cashier may select the currency with out realizing, I always tell the cashier to charge as local currency, yet they still convert to MYR, and nothing I can on it ( denied the transaction) which not acknowledging by me, DO you still accept this transaction swipe? NOT to say I don’t like the currency rate converted, is just the transaction amount agreement is not acknowledged by me as cardholder. So what is the protocol to make such refund? How it works for bigpay?

Even when I swipe incorrect amount/ double swipe, we are still able to call bank to revert the transaction immediately through phone call, but BigPay doesn’t have customer service call to handle this?
*
Even you get a refund (assuming whatever reason and they allow you refund), you need to pay double conversion.
They refund you in foreign currency but you receive in RM.
Even BP is not charging you (0%) but I believe there is a little difference in MC rate.

I do sorry that you told them to charge in local currency yet they still convert into RM.
I believe the best choice is to talk to store manager instead of complaining to BP / bank CS.
Next time shall be more cautious and take a look at the amount when key in your pin.

Hi all

Any1 got experience for shopee refund?
I paid by bigpay ,now seller say no stock and csncel my order
Shopee show will refund in 14 working day
Now been like 1 week pass ,still ntg come out…abit worry
Cox very bad luck 2 same item happen refund
*
You will eventually be refunded.
You can contact shopee if no refund seen after 14 days.

What I concern more is, if my BP already have 10k, can I still get the refund?
Same thing if someone try to send me money via BP.

It traces from your mobile network, not GPS/location

Just came back from Europe and I have got the answer for it.
For VAT refund, we can claim back by Cash or Credit Card (need to pay extra commission for cash, so always choose credit card).
For refund into Credit card, either pay us via credit card machine (immediately) or fill in your CC number and post to global blue office and wait for a few weeks (if you don't have time / no refund facility in the airport).

However, when I hand over my BP card for refund, it was NOT accepted!
I changed another CC and it was OK.
I am not sure what will happened for those submitted to global blue office (whether they will contact you for another card).
Hence, it is best to fill in a CC instead of BP.

For the exchange rate, when I arrived in country A, the rate showed in BP is: EUR1 = MYR4.725
When i arrived country B the next day, the rate is: EUR1 = MYR4.694
What i would say is, the above rate is probably an actual rate (not Mastercard rate), which is much better.

Ie. immediately i spend in country A, BP gave me pending rate at 4.738 (shouldn't it be 4.725!!??)
The transaction finally settled 2 days later at rate 4.744, which is almost identical to MC rate (on settlement date).
For my another 2 BP transactions, the settled rate is slightly lower compare to MC rate rclxms.gif
(of course higher than pending rate, as Euro is going up)

Comparing my 2 same amount transactions on the same day, using BP and MBB VI.
BP Eu5 = RM23.72
MBB Eu5 = RM24.29 (additional 2.4% but i do earn 5x TP for this)

Stayed in Germany for a week, I spent less than Eu50 cash. Almost everywhere is accepting CC. I found that only those small eateries/stalls not accepting card. CC all the way even just buying a bottle of water.

Mostly pin n pay OR wave?
*
Both, but i guess all should be able to use wave.
Some of them have a visible place to wave your card (some at the side), some just put on top of the screen (like what we used to do here).
Initially I am not too sure and just key in pin.
Also, i found that their transaction response (wave) is slower than Msia, maybe due to foreign card.

I duno wat u want to point out.
I hv seen many ppl compare the rate from mastercard vs duno from where,  money changer or xe. Com hence my question.
*
BP is a mastercard, so the rate is definitely provided by MC.
MC will earn a little commission in the process, but the rate is slightly lower compare to Visa / Amex.
From there, bank will incur additional fee (usually 1-3%, depending on bank).
As BP is claiming that there will is NO additional fee incurred.
Hence we are here to collect actual transaction data to ensure there is no fee charged by BP.

From your given data / rate, it was tallied when key into MC calculator - 3.048.
However, the date for MC calculator is based on UK/US time.
I believe your transaction on 22-Nov actually equivalent to 21-Nov (MC calculator) and probably settled on 23-Nov (calculator 22-Nov).
If you compare the rate for the last few days:
21-Nov - 3.0538
22-Nov - 3.0482 *
23-Nov - 3.0450
