Your friend to decide before key-in the PIN or sign, he could reject when he saw the transaction was in Ringgit.

I have issued regarding add BP into maxis pay app. After add the card transaction declined. Any maxis user have this issue?

In China, depending on which city you are in, Mastercard and Visa card acceptance is very low. If card is accepted, many times it's Union Pay. And also do take note that there may be a fee of about 3% charge if you use credit card. So it seems like your RM9 is about 3% of the RM260 you paid.

So I personally wouldn't use BigPay in China. I'll use mostly cash, sometimes Wechat Pay or Union Pay card.

Pay by Maybank FPX and select Maybank 2 Amex as payment.

Just to share SG & S.Korea BPay initial usage experience:
SG - USAGE/charged forex is lower or equal to XE.com
BUT
cash withdrawal at OCBC ATM Terminal 4 was high and MYR10 charged

Questions for BigPay prepaid Mastercard usage in the USA - can we use BigPay Mastercard to get cash from groceries store? 

If you have debit card issued by US bank, when paying for your groceries, you can withdraw small amount of cash from your saving/current account when paying your groceries, eg when buying  $5.00 of groceries, you can request $20 cash by paying $25 for that transaction.  Can we do the same with BigPay Prepaid card?

It is depends on how many days or purpose to travel.

Example...... my Apr trip to Japan with my family, I just brought 5000yen (RM200) to Japan.  Once I touch down Japan, I went to 7-11 to withdraw cash for my trip (The rate is better than MC rate at Malaysia).  I swiped card as much as possible at Japan because it is quite credit card friendly.  I still have some balance of Japanese Yen and the end of the trip, I brought back and exchanged at MC again with some currency apppreciation.

My solo trip to Taiwan, mainly Taipei area last month.  I exchanged TWD 2000 and mainly top up into their IC card (悠游卡）for public transport, 7-11 etc. I swiped card at restaurants， Watson， supermarkets etc.  I din make any ATM withdrawal and brought back TWD200.

depends if you go street or mall shopping. cash for night markets, street food, etc.
some tourist area might accept cards for the entrance fee. So, i just top up and withdraw cash from my BP in Taiwan. Cheap rate and very easy to get ATM machines.
