I think those people that do BP GP BP GP, these people might have one BP acc only, hence, they dont ‘think’ that the risk of getting banned for doing this is that significant.

Lets say they do this 5k per day, for 30 consecutive days. That’s 5,000 x 30 /10 = 15,000 points per month,

Can redeem a KL-Kch flight, which normally also costs RM79-99 one way (on promo).

But risk getting banned, as i remember correctly, someone reported before that his BP cant topup with GP anymore.

For me, with 3 BPs acc (limit 30k) - GP has reduced the amount of time for withdrawing from ATM for me (and of cost the costs/fee that comes with it)- i would like to keep GP as long as possible, forgoing the Points worth RM100/RM200 per month instead of the withdraw and carrying cash from one atm to another CDM, not to say the amount of time it consumed, risk of the rompak at the ATM, driving time.

There are always impatience people there to kill the golden goose.
We need to ensure good stuff with long sustainability.
Don't top-up 1k and withdraw 1k immediately.
Top-up more and park the money there for a while prior withdrawal.
Let them earn some interest, be it BP or GP.
Else we will have no game soon.

Alternative view - if you are patient, others will not be patient.

So you 'lose out' with your patience, while the benefit will still disappear due to those 'other player' that you have no control over. There's a reason CC rewards etc. always got long T&C.

Based on this view you just maximise your own benefit as fast as you can.
*
Well, that's the mentality of our people.
It can only fix from education since young.

Take an example from Japan.
If you go supermarket buy bread, same item, got 2pcs/batches:
A. expire in 2 days; B. expire in 4 days.

I believe 100% here will choose B.
But for Japs, if the bread they are going to consume immediately / before expiry, they will opt for A, and leave B for other customers (either for shop sustainability or food for others).

I blame no one, but hope all of us can see thing in big picture, not just the tiny benefits in front of us.
Sorry for OT.

I choose the longest expiry because i dont know when the bread will finish, sometimes cant finish within expiry i even eat expired bread lol..
as long as no see mold i will eat

Some mold are not visible to naked eye.

I don’t believe all Japs are like that

I don't think so too.

Oh thanks. Before you go Germany.

Can change currency? Might getting the card soon.
Expect to deliver tomorrow or Thursday.

Thanks.

As mentioned above, Germany is super CC friendly.
99% hotel (if not 100%) will accept CC (some may ask you pay cash for city tax, only small amount).
For groceries (mineral water, bread, snack etc), there are many mini marts / chain stores, all possible to pay with CC (unless those small store, I am not sure).
So far, I only encountered bakery (esp those in train station) not accepting CC, as well as eateries in food court / train station (some also started to accept CC).

Just done my first withdrawal from German ATM, RM10 charges as usual, but generally you don't need much cash in hand.
Depending on your travelling group, I will suggest you change Eu50/100 in Msia, swipe BP/CC exclusively while there, if you need more cash, withdraw few from ATM.
Best if you have another backup CC, just in case your card is not working.

only germany or the total Europe Continental countries?
*
Western Europe and Scandinavian should be about the same.
Of course you can't compare with Eastern Europe, but they are not far behind.
As usual, all proper shops usually accepting CC, but not for smaller stall / road side store.

hi there,

may I ask if anyone tried topup big pay with foreign credit card?

Technically it should be depending on foreign credit card to ringgit conversion rate. it would be interesting to know if it is worth it as foreign currently conversion to ringgit.
*
As mentioned above, only if the benefit outweigh the FCY charges.
Do note that a lot CC (from overseas) treat this as quasi-cash / top up which will earn nothing.
Worse still, I read some overseas articles that certain top up (i guess not BP) was treated as cash advance and need to pay extra fee.

Guys, I have a paypal account with some 60+ USD in it.

I'm planning to purchase something in Amazon/ebay costs around 80+ USD including shipping.
Can I top up with bigpay into paypal, then pay with USD? So I can save on the currency conversion.
*
I think you can't "top up" $$ into paypal.
Straight away pay with USD, paypal will use your balance $60 and charge only additional $20 on your bigpay.
Rmb to opt for conversion by bank, not by paypal.

Yeap... I have cancelled my last 2 from Citi and HSBC.

I only have bigpay and 2 debit card from hlb and rhb.

Best to keep 1-2 CC which is free for life.
Useful when you lost your income / retired in the future.
Cashback for e-wallet is just a temporary game, keep something for long term use.

Are you sure you got a 0% offer from bigpay?
Just a casual warning there are many scammers around.

Assuming the scammer get your OTP, now they log into your BP account. What are they going to do next? They still need your 6 digit pin to transfer out money right?

Also, why there are so many scamming on BP but relatively few on TnG, Grab nowadays? Something is not right with BP security.

As far as I understand, the OTP request is for login (as if new phone). Once logged in they just straight transfer money to their own BP account (or something). Say bye to all the money in your BigPay. Really cannot challenge banking this way.
*
Transferring money from stolen account to their own BP requires 6-digit pin right? How they manage to guess it?

Implement 2FA like all other banks. BigPay is the only one with only 1 factor of authentication out there.

Asking for password will seriously thwart scammers because it's more intuitive to most people so they don't give away their passwords easily.

I explained further in https://anonoz.github.io/security/2020/11/0...y-security.html

Thanks for the article, you cleared my doubt.

Some times I think people will confuse with that because some bank that do MOBILE banking do request for OTP over phone to verify before continue any transaction.

I encounter case yesterday too that ringgitplus called me for a cc application and they send me RINGGITPLUS PIN xxxxxx and request me to give that 6digits pin......I was confused and in doubt of giving out that initially.

People will be confused...same goes to bigpay.
*
Agree, I think next round the scammer will invest in voice recording facilities, he will pass you to a voice system to key in OTP instead. He will tell you he wont know the OTP, all verified by system.

Similar to "Visa Direct", you can send money from Current/Savings account (eg You can DIY at M2U) to most of the Visa card (including Visa credit card account, and Current/Savings account linked to Visa Debit) in the world.

MasterCard should have a similar service, because you can use a MasterCard to receive a GST/VAT refund from overseas.
*
I tried overseas VAT refund into bigpay card but was rejected.
I guess a prepaid card doesn't have that feature.

You freeze your Bigpay card?
*
Very sure I had unfrozen my BP.
Purposely wanted to test it as I don't want to get minus points from refunding into other CC.
Also wanted to test how good is the exchange rate in reverse.
