QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Nov 21 2018, 07:13 PM) Main branch is the one near Big C next to Central World? I been there before, rate is better than the one in BP during my time. Yes the rajdamri Branch is the highest with difference up to 0.05 varies on their branch location. Bp rate is almost same with very minimal difference from that branch. Save the hassle for going there to exchange. |

QUOTE(hsiung @ Jan 16 2019, 11:23 PM) I am at Bangkok. Indeed , so far hovering at 7.72 to 7.78 these two months. Yesterday was higher at 7.77. Today drop again to 7.72. So far tried most bank atm in bangkok. Charged 220 for all thai bank except aeon 150. Not yet have chance to withdraw at MBB yet. Will try once see MBB around. Confirmed cimb atm not accepting mastercard only visa is usable at their atm.Withdrawn money from Citibank ATM in Centralworld. Citi charged me 200 THB for the withdrawal. BP charged me RM10. BP rate (pending) - THB 100 = RM 12.831 BP rate (settled) - TBA XE rate - THB 100 = RM12.956 My money master rate - THB 100 = RM 12.95 Superrich rate - RM 1 = THB 7.72 (which is equivalent to THB 100 = RM12.953) Man THB is expensive nowadays.... |

There are quite alot aeon atm as well although not as much as local. Usually max valu market will have their atm also.MBB seems is not having commercial banking in Thai ? When i google it shows MBB Kim Eng which is investment bank. |

QUOTE(#Victor @ Jan 20 2019, 01:22 AM) BigPay is not so friendly in Thailand. Tried to use at 7-Eleven but need minimum 300THB purchase to use card. While hotel charge additional 3% for card usage 😑 end up withdraw at ATM with 220 baht charges. 7 eleven have minimum spend 300baht for cards, no minimum for wechat or alipay but only china wallet able to use it. There is no minimum pay in family mart to use card so if you want just shop in family mart. ![]() ![]() Thailand is more a cash country and they prefer cash than anything else. QUOTE(putra23 @ Jan 20 2019, 02:55 PM) Agree... no much advantage in Thailand. Got charged 220 bhat too for cash withdrawal at airport atm. The exchange rate is not attractive too, RM800 get 6000 bhat (exclude the 220 bhat and RM10 charges). I always use my bigpay when dining and shopping around. The rate is always +- same with superrich hq. In thai you must have cash in your pocket , every other is supplement to your cash.Should have just exchange cash. |

One more thing to update if going to withdraw cash in atm at thailand. Best is max 25000 baht per withdrawal as most machine dispense 25 notes at a time. There is known problem that atm in thai will still deduct your balance but did not dispense the money. You will need to contact the issuer of card and also the bank which you withdraw. Eventually you will get back the money but there will be some work you need to do plus the anxiety at the moment. Lol.

QUOTE(fairylord @ Jan 21 2019, 09:53 PM) Not really not Bp friendly, just that their banking system. Their system is vary from branch to branch so it depends who you speak to and the result will be vary as well lol. I tend to use my BP alot too whenever i need to spend 10k baht above. The 25000 baht rules is because their machine problem and bank like krungsri or scb atm will still dispense 30 notes per withdrawal but you need to take the risk IF the machine runs out of 1000 notes it will dispense 500 notes, that withdrawal will be error because 500 x 60 = 30k. Chances of 50/50 you will see your balance deducted without getting cash. It sometime will trigger the atm reboot (blue screen) and back to normal but it doesnt eject your atm, that is worst case as bank tend to destroy the card because they unable to verify oversea card owner identity. So just my 2 cent if you want to withdraw from local atm do it within 25k per withdrawal to save yourself the hassle. The best advise is still use the BP to swipe at the merchant. |

QUOTE(#Victor @ Jan 22 2019, 12:26 AM) What if that happen during weekend and the local banks are not open. Looks like withdrawing cash in Thai ATM is not advisable, not only extra 220 THB charges but also risk and hassle of the mentioned issue. Even they are in operation hours, they wont return the card to you because they unable to verify your identity. Which mean they will just destroy the card. Exception is there provided you speak fluent thai and “ persuade” the branch manager. They will request you to go and do a police report and get some sort of evidence regarding the ownership of the card from the issuer. Things can get real complicated here because of their inconsistent policy, been there done that. To be frank if you come thai for vacation for a few days or a week it doesnt worth your time to do all that thing just to get back your card. Always bring some spare cash, credit card and BP to avoid any emergency. I for instant if the atm does eat my BP, i will just cancel the card and request a new one. Too much trouble just to get it back imo in thai haha. |

QUOTE(tifosi @ Mar 22 2019, 10:12 AM) Yes, the rule is always withdraw max amount per withdrawal the atm can dispense oversea. If withdraw few hundreds RM , the RM10 and also the oversea bank charges does not worth at all. |

QUOTE(MelaniePutra @ Mar 20 2019, 06:36 PM) There are chances your Card being eaten by the ATM machines oversea. You wouldnt want to spend one full day of your vacation to make police report and doing paper work with bank just to retrieve your card. I not sure about other countries but in Thai, you will be crazy even you can converse well in thai. They will tell you they going to destroy the card even they took it out from the machine. The reason is they cant verify your identity and they will ask you to do a police report, and chances are 50/50 to get your card back from them depending their mood and who you deal with at that moment. The safest to use BP when oversea is always swipe only. Thats the safest method, withdrawal i tend to keep the conversion below RM3000 to play safe. |
