QUOTE(unknownlowyat @ Jun 6 2019, 10:13 PM) Used bigpay to withdraw Thai baht from Thailand. Big pay charge RM10 Thai bank charge 260bhat (+-) currency rate at 7.1xx, which currently should be 7.50. Read review that's use to withdraw currency oversea is good but in this case, my first try, and my last. Probably juz use it as emergency withdrawal. What i get always is very near if not better than the “ superrich “ HQ rate. How do you get the 7.1xx rate ? Most local bank here charge 220 baht and which bank atm did you use ? The lowest charge is Aeon Which is 150 baht and its quite easy to spot one in mall. The best is always withdraw 20000 baht at one go to save the conversion because the lesser you withdraw the charges is still the same.
My last month withdrawal at Aeon

QUOTE(sl3ge @ Jun 7 2019, 09:16 PM) what if i call the operator say cant waive, but the annual fee RM250 already charge in my bill, and will the bank force me to pay? because last time i apply a credit card, didnt activate it(regretted apply it), few weeks later being charged RM25 sst, i called CS say i dont want the card (since i didnt activate it), but the CS insist i need to pay the sst eventhough i dont want the card and also havnt activate it. Does the CS is right? Few years back when the 50 sst being introduced i kena once by HSBC a new card and they charged me 50 before i even activate the card. Called in to cancel and they removed the SST as well. 2nd one is new card as well but card activated and swiped once , 50 SST charged in following week called in to waive ( try my luck ) unable to waive request to cancel it but CS insisted the 50 still need to pay because i already activate the card and used it.

QUOTE(tifosi @ Jul 3 2019, 02:00 PM) Money changer: 13.575 for 100 baht. Heading to Thailand next week also. At first I though of swiping there for most items with BP, then I saw how MYR is dropping. Ditch the BP idea and changed real hard cash 2 months ago at money changer. Changed 20k baht at 12.97. Compare if I go there and use BP, I need to fork out RM 120. So sometime, BP is not the best idea Biggest regret - didn't change more On the other note you can use Merchantrade card to change it to THB if you feel the rate is good. Their rate is very competitive as well. Sometime its even better than BP. Hope the prepaid card limit increase in future. For verified account should make it to 30k .

QUOTE(tifosi @ Jul 3 2019, 06:17 PM) I've always on the hunt for cheap currency because I do travel quite a bit. BP has great rates, but I can't lock in rates when I think it's cheap for me to buy. Hopefully someday they can introduce multi currency card. BigPayJonathanI did toyed with the idea of Merchantrade but thing is I don't know how reliable is it. I don't want to wake up one day and read Merchantrade has gone bankrupt Same with YouTrip. And I also can't register as you need a Singapore mobile. And banks, you need a lot of capital for foreign account. Not to mention their rate sucks. i think merchantrade is quite reliable with many branches nationwide. Their rate is comparable to bigpay but i dont like the app cant show live transaction and only can rely on monthly statement. RHB also launch similar product i think the multi currency card that you can check that out but not sure how is their rate i guess its bank afterall. I locked some currencies in MTC but daily use is still BP.
