I check out nu sentral rates. Still higher than midvalley. Hence always patronise them. Now with instarem, can forget about queueing already.
Maybank price also not cheap.I checked all the shops at mid valley. I go where I can get more cash/RM even if need to queue.
*
I think it's not absolute. It also depends on which currency you are changing at that moment. Sometimes for a particular currency, the one with the long queue one may not have a better rate or may have the same rate as the one with no queue.

Exactly. Imagine I see this crowd every single day.
Well, it depends on the currency you are changing as mentioned earlier. To me, those I want to change have very minimal difference with Maybank. My time is far worth more than that, not like I'm going to change few ten thousands or hundred thousands. Just RM 10-15 difference, costs lesser than my daily lunch in MV.
Ah! Sounds good. If you can recall which court will be helpful.
I know it's OT but just wanna push away the claim which says MV has the best rate. Nah.
*
You are right. I see long queue, then I just go search for alternative. Anyway, there are so many choices at MV. And I don't usually change a lot. I'll change a little every time. Coz you will never know, the rate may be lower on a different day.

BigPay thru AirAsia app currently does not give RM2 discount on pre-book meail/luggage until further notice.
*
Oh no!!!

Last week when I checked, there was still discount, and I didn't purchase. Thought I would do it later.

And I just checked, on desktop, there is no more discount. bangwall.gif

Seems like KL area is quite fast. Thanks for the information. At least now I know the expected timeline if I intend to upgrade and I'm also in KL area.
*
Upgrade now when it is still free. Who knows what they will do later. Just like how they suddenly removed the prebook meal discount. :'(

The contactless payment is so fast and convenient. So far no problem in using at merchant's terminal that accept contactless payment.

At first I didn't think of changing, but then they offered it after referring 2 friends. So I immediately grabbed it. Both of my friends who newly signed up got the contactless card with expiry till 10/21. So now my new card has expiry till 10/21 too. In a way, expiry got extended.

Hi, is it normal i still don't get big points till now after top up?
I top up at 23 October.
*
I should think points are awarded quite immediately. For amount less than RM50, no points though.

My bad, not aware of this rationale. Nevertheless, how come said rationale doesn't apply to ios users?  doh.gif  I can screenshot transaction pages using Maybank, Cimb, CitiBank, Public Bank, etc apps on android.. Then crop to only highlight the necessary transactions before emailing or sharing outwards. No need to physically visit a location and surrender my phone to someone who scrolls through and sees other confidential stuffs. Last I checked, these companies care deeply about financial security too.. Yet, they acknowledge It's a matter of convenience too. Just saying.
Never.... laugh.gif ..

I noticed that if you use browser and turn on incognito tab, you cannot take screenshots too.

Do we get charged cross border fee as buyers? BP don't have right now, but PayPal has right? Thank you
*
For Paypal, don't let Paypal do the currency conversion. Let Mastercard do the conversion.

Do update here once they have replied you ya. Thanks
*
Oh.... I just checked my account and only to realise that last time my top up and usage took about 9 days before they added the big points into my account. And those top ups and usage last week, so far only one is added.

I have just placed an order at Agoda. After reading some had problem using BigPay card so I use Paypal-linked BP (Agoda will charge in USD) and save some cents due to BigPay good exchange rate smile.gif
*
I always look at price in MYR. So you are suggesting that it will be better to view price in local currency and pay in local currency with BP?

Hmm... I will try that the next time.

how's the rates?
Did u swipe the card there ? accept by most of the shops there ?
*
Most shops accept card payment, even small shops. You won't see the usual card terminal like what we have here. Their card payment is built into their pos terminal. S. Korea is one of those places that I can bring less cash and use more card.

BigPayJonathan

Please look into this. Points are awarded as per usage in BigPay interface but my overall points has not been increasing since 20th October. I crossed check with my AirAsiaBig account and there are no points being awarded for all the usage in BigPay since 20th October.

None of you guys affected?
*
Mine too. But one interesting top up on 22 October, 1 point was awarded or at least shown in my airasiabig account transaction history. But nothing shown on any other top up and usage on the same day and days after that.

Just came back from Japan. Used bigpay thinking the exchange rate is equivalent to XE but got a shock this morning when the app prompted me that I have a negative balance in my account cos the settlement rate is different from the rate I saw when I use the card. The exchange rate is even higher than money changer.

When I changed cash at Midvalley the rate was 37.245  and Bigpay settlement rate is 37.37!!

Totally regretted it. Such a ripped off!
*
When you first swipe it, the rate used is the rate on the day of transaction. The actual rate you will be paying, i.e. when payment is settled, the rate used will be the rate on the day of settlement, depending when the merchant claims the money.

You can check the mastercard rate here:
https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/g...t-currency.html

Use 0% for bank fee as that's what we are getting for BigPay card. Like PB cards, the bank fee is 1.25%.

You can't compare the rate at Midvalley to BigPay as the rate used is different on different days. Sometimes lower sometimes higher.

Exchange rate fluctuate overtime lo, and the diff is just 0.3 percent more.... u get the convenience, big point, credit card point ......
*
That's right.... the convenience.

Another point is that if I can use card overseas, then I don't have to exchange too much currency. Always remember that after the trip, whatever currency not used, we have to sell it back, and we usually rugi. Small notes and coins cannot be sold, rugi also.

On the day I used the card the rate was 37.10 then when it settled today it's 37.37 wor..I of course know it flactuates but this is like 0.27 not 0.03

I checked klmoneychanger online aso highest is 37.35..the outlet in midvalley is 37.30..this is higher than money changer already no?
*
If you look at the Mastercard conversion rate for the month, these few days the rate is high.

For example:
9 Oct - 36.80
16 Oct - 37.18
20 Oct - 37.09
21 Oct - 37.09
22 Oct - 37.01
23 Oct - 37.16
24 Oct - 37.08
25 Oct - 37.29
26 Oct - 37.48
27 Oct - 37.48
28 Oct - 37.48
29 Oct - 37.38
30 Oct - 37.21

Today's rate on klmoneychanger.com, lowest is 37.30, highest is 37.50.

It all depends on your luck when the purchase is settled. That is how it works. We just hope that the payment is settled on the day when the rate drops. For example, if you have made purchases on the 27 October, the rate would have been 37.48, and if let's say it's settled on 30 Oct, then you will be paying the rate 37.21. And your post here in the forum would have been a different one I think.... hahaha.

There is no 1% charge at the moment, until further notice. The network charges will be the mastercard conversion rate. https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/g...t-currency.html

btw, i want to share, i topup BigPay with BIG Prepaid, and surprisingly , it works....
*
Yes, tried that too. But somehow it allowed 2 times top up only. So on the 2nd time, I transferred all the remaining balance to Bigpay. Anyway, not going to use Big prepaid anymore. The top up of Big Prepaid is so much of a hassle.

I, too, just requested for my insurance auto-debit to be changed to BP. Upon approval, they immediately swiped my card as it was due. But I did not expect it to be so soon and didn't top up. I could see the declined transaction in the history.

when fill in the form for auto debit, the name of bank we write "BigPay"?

tq notworthy.gif

Mine is Great Eastern. The form does not require me to fill up the name of bank, but just need to inform my agent. I just said try either Tune Money or CIMB.
