Transaction failures are not uncommon....

For cc, such transactions are handled in the background, and consolidated and cleared spends are posted.....

For BP, because of the instant post nature, you will see this background management live.....failed purchase is posted, then reversed with a strike through....making it looks like a terribly incompetent unsafe system.....

It's the same system....master card gateway and network....

Withdraw RM10k in a single transaction?

Multiple depending on how much the ATM allows.....hence the eternal search for the 4k machines.....

Have anyone answered this?

Just as for Singapore MRT, the London underground now accepts contactless payment including visa and MC.... thus making the ezylink and oyster cards redundant....

If you continue to prefer to use your existing ezylink/oyster cards, then you can top them up at any machine using any acceptable cc....including BP MC.....

it's cheaper to use oyster card, no?

Both MRT and the underground charges a discounted fare using contactless payments.....but the same whether ezylink/oyster or a contactless credit/debit/preloaded card.....

I thought using oyster card loaded with 7 day travel is cheaper as its unlimited? no ?
*
The daily cap works for contactless payment with cc/dc as well...if you use the same card for travels within one day, the maximum charged is the day ticket price, which varies depending on how many zones travelled... however, if you want the weekly pass, you will need to buy at the station office....

Guys....read the report carefully.....there will still be charges....."to drive traffic to "safer" methods".....I see aa pushing payments to affiliated channels.....eg their co-branded CC....

Their cc surcharges are ridiculous....they only pay the usual 2-3% merchant fees.....but charges RM8-12 even for a RM80 ticket to Penang.....they thought they can circumvent BNM rules by fixing it as "convenience" fee.

*
The fraud origin is seldom the same as where the fraud purchases are made.....

Your card data can be skimmed anywhere, including and especially msia, well know card fraud country.....the fraud card can be used anywhere in the world.....mine in st martaan.....

The big point system is a joke lah....nobody bothers "collecting" it.....you don't spend with bp because of it....and it's so low value, might as well just scrap the system....after collecting a fee hundreds of points you get less than a Starbucks off you airticket....

why always think big pay is debit card? Big Pay is a prepaid card.
That is different. my understanding is debit card is link to a bank account.

Prepaid card is itself have the value stored in the card.
big pay is no a bank. Those card supported in Malaysia Samsung pay only from bank as of now.
*
Technically, there is no difference between a debit and prepaid card.....both needs money in the system to use, unlike credit cards.....

It's how this money is captured that's different.....banks are licenced to take deposits, in what is called accounts.....and debit cards are linked to that..... e-wallets are not licenced to take deposits per se, but can accept loading into the e-wallets....

But it's all artificial.....just terminology.....in both cases, they keep your money.....at least banks give you some interests..... e-wallet don't....yet....

So BP is not friendly in China?
Wah, 15~20% for tips, no wonder many people like to jump airplane at US.
*
it's an annoying north american practice which i dislike very much....in many other countries, including msia, it's a built in "service charge", usually 10%, automatically added in some, usually upmarket outlets....

or better still, i prefer they it be built into the list prices of the food....wysiwyp.....

the tip always make me feel i need to "bribe" the staff to get any service and food.....

But then just wondering

Why not both?
*
Ccv is meant as security for card not present transactions, eg online, or telephone....but if someone has your physical card, it's useless as security....

So the 2fa system using a device other than your physical card is much more secure....the only way to break that is if they also have your phone/token, or have cloned your SIM.....in that system, the ccv is redundant.....

only germany or the total Europe Continental countries?

Obviously each country will vary depending on the system in place....western Europe is pretty well penetrated by visa/MC....even in the eastern and south eastern European countries, most shops will accept....
