early settlement can refund back the remaining interest

Minus early settlement penalty, if any.... banks don't like people to settle early.....

Actually....bank loves those with weaker credit score....those who will not pay up full..... but consistently will pay the interests charged and not default.....that's how they make money....

Those always pay up full exactly at due date, no good.....make little money from you.....

I email cs and they told me since 4 April international number can be used already
However they unable to find out why I cannot register
After several tries, just now I found out the root cause is due to their system restricted to only 8 digits when you key in mobile number
so I key in my household number instead and I successful go through next step and registered
Already feedback to them and hope they can fix it so that later I will change it back to my mobile number

Followed instructions, and managed to register and capture BP MC.....lol

The fees and charges are clearly stated in Bigpay App since you applied for a Bigpay card. Wait for Bigpay to notify you when they will start charging.
*
A fair bit of charges are "till further notice" waived at the moment....if they implement them, I foresee many cancellations....like what happened to ambank after their change of conditions....lol

My father is going overseas soon. Can i lend him my bigpay card so if he ran out of fund i can top up from here and he withdraw from there?
*
Of course....this is a preloaded card, and doesn't contain and personal information....anyone can use it as long as there is money inside....

Which also makes it dangerous with wave enabled.....hence the feature to disable the card in the app.....

Generally, Maybank ATMs only dispense RM50 notes, maximum 30 pieces.....so not much point trying their machines.....

Actually, card payment is still relatively underpenetrated in Malaysia and many people still not comfortable with cashless payments....NZ is one of the most penetrated....with less than 10%cash transactions....even buy newspaper can use card....

maybe malaysia elder generation lag behind and not tech savvy thou

like my parent, still want buku account, dont want setup mobile banking apps

tooks year for them to trust web e-banking and start using thou
*
It's not a generation thing, but rather a distrust of electronics and worry about safety of their money....the elderly in NZ have no problems adapting to EFTPOS card based payment....

hi after I read thru many post n articles, i decided to go for bp. however i am still a bit confuse on the part that its a prepaid card but at the same time a master card, in such case, can a student without income get a bp? and would bp incur less charges should transfer fund to another bp accounts reside in overseas? normally withdrawal via atm at overseas cost rm10, not sure if there is any other charges since no breakdown of detail, it might have included in the fc exchange.

MC is the payment system (although most people identify it as the credit card only)....there are 3 types of cards using the system.....credit card (as how most people understand, using money on credit), debit card (linked to your designated savings account, payment deducted direct from account) and prepaid card (like BP, you need to load it with money to use)....

Since you are only using your own money in the later 2 forms, anyone can use it....

If a machine is not able to perform 3k withdrawal, will they inform before hand so we will just cancel the transaction?
*
Some will give you an error message, informing you the max limit of that machine.....others like hlb will just terminate the transaction with a message ATM limit exceeded....

You can terminate your transaction anytime.....

These are all just different payment systems....

Card based RFID system (wave, t n g) is well established....

Phone based via QR codes is another system....cheap setup cost, well penetrated in PRC....

Which do you all prefer?.....

Personally, I prefer care based.....

I prefer NFC.
*
NFC systems are slow in taking off because it shares the emv RFID system's high cost setup, by needing to use dedicated interphase devices.....

The RFID paywave/paypass systems are well established in most western world....but incorporating NFC functionality is going to take time....

The phone internet QR code system is the cheapest to implement....

From a user point of view, I agree a phone stored NFC system is ideal.....no need to bring credit cards any more....😁

I think this only 1 credit card can top up 1 bigpay is silly. One advantage of bigpay is giving it to your love ones eg children going on their own holiday or schooling. You top up for them as expenses. So silly have to apply supp card for them just top up bigpay
*
Just top up your BP, then transfer money to their BP cards.....

Difference between BigPay and youtrip is youtrip let you topup into any multicurrency account in that card and utilise it later.
BigPay only let you topup into Rm
*
For the domestic market, I think BP will still be the dominant player....

As for the prepaid multi currency card, rhb already has one....and if Forex rates are good, there isn't a big advantage in having money in multiple wallets in different currencies.....just convert and pay as you go like all normal CC/DC/prepaid.....

Got one advantage over BP.
You can topup any currency you want at any time.
BigPay you are forced with RM only.

RHB different story as markup exchange rate. Not good.
I am glad not only me realised it.
*
Yes, just as some of us do currency conversion at the moneychangers when our target currency is low.....months before the trip....

Which brings us to an interesting question.....can the reverse conversion be done?....so after your trip, you have yen left over....can convert back to MYR?.....

If yes, then it brings us to the next interesting question.....we have a mini currency trading platform with low changes in our pockets.....lol

Another one is Curve Card based in London.
Bigpay is just a copycat.smile.gif
*
Curve card is different....it's more like fave, but using a physical MC based card for payment.....it doesn't preload cash.... but is a cc/dc aggregator, linking multiple cards to the single curve card.....and an app that allows you to set which of your linked cards to pay with.....

I like this better...

BP is old school, and makes money from the potentially billions stored in the cards relatively dormant.....

There was an update to the app this morning, so I update it and found that my big point figure is not showing. Then notice a button, press prompt to enter email and password to link big point but show something is wrong and try again later.  What happened? Did anyone have this issue too?
*
Same problem....but the short cut button shows Raya motif!lol
