SK can buy a bottle of water using card.

Actually our country also can lah, just that have to be "muka tebal" sometimes cuz the cashier is most likely gonna give you a weird look, personally experienced that few times when using e wallet and BP to buy dirt cheap items, but it's my right to choose my preferred payment method so I don't really care.

i always buy roti rm2.50 and use paywave... i feel the cashier prefer paywave more than cash coz they dun need to count and return balance to me... less work...

I've been to Japan many times. And I could never figure out the tax refund system.
By right you're supposed to remove the white slip of paper in your passport and drop them off at customs (just before immigration) when departing. What if you don't do so, in fact I think i have not dropped off some papers by accident as well.
We've already gotten the tax refund at the point of purchase, so I'm not sure what's the point of that step.

p.s. Btw, Japan just increased GST to 10% from the previous 8%.

Exactly, I see really pointless to stick those slips and stamps on our passport. bangwall.gif
Papers are wasted, though Japan is good in recycling but they surely create a lot of wastage.

i asked my tour guide from Apple Vacations when i went Japan this year.

he explained that Japan government give us convenient to buy stuff with free tax at participating shop and no need hassle do tax refund at airport. Japan government need make sure tourist buy things and bring back to their own country, and not use the tax exempt stuff in Japan.

the tour guide keep reminding us to drop the tax exempt slip in the box. if too may tax exempt slips are not collected back, Japan may tarik balik the convenient from Malaysian... we Malaysian need to claim the tax refund at the airport in future... this is what the tour guide told me...

been using bigpay quite some time for my ptptn payment, prepaid reload, insurance auto debit
i feel like earning bigpoint kinda slow (1k BP for now)
and
nothing much can do with the bigpoint except buying airasia ticket/meal plan
for eg you'd need around 6K BP to fly from kl to jb
*
may consider to use Maybank Barcelona for insurance, got 2% cash rebate.
1 BP point is equal to rm0.01 only.

I see. Mine was Mastercard but I had to reconfirm my details on the app for the new Visa card before they would send it.
*
I open the app... one notification shown like "Your new card will be printed soon. Tap here to track and activate your card"
and also can see the new visa card status is "Printing card".
There is nothing need me to reconfirm..

Where in the app did you reconfirm the details?

Any place to use AirAsia points for online purchase?
*
I use them to redeem grocery from https://www.airasia.com/grocer/my/en

https://support.airasia.com/s/article/AirAs...?language=en_GB
For every 125 airasia points, you can redeem RM1.
