One example is CIMBpay which uses NFC. U still need to log in into the app, choose payment type > NFC then only 'touch' the payment terminal. So from this point of view, it is essentially the same by opening up an app and scan qr code. Why e-Wallet has been using QR code instead of NFC? The amount is controlled by the bank doesn't matter how many 100 notes in the machine. I tried last week at HLB CDM+ATM : firstly deposited 8000 (100notes x80). When I withdraw it only allowed 4000 max (100notesx40). Eventhough we know the machine has minimum 80s 100 notes.
