If u won’t be spending anything on FCB this month, then u should use FCB since u will get 10% cb

This, but only for rm1000. Above that I would suggest using bigpay if you want to save on forex, and VI/MUVI if you want points (visa usually less forex charges than amex).

visa is 2.25% amex is 2.5% right?

About there. VI overseas also get 5TP so choose whichever card lowest charges. I vaguely remember amex better if in usa. But don't quote me on that.

Guys, Please be careful when withdrawing money. BigPay Settled my withdraw transaction which Bank already rejected the transaction due insufficient fund.
Trying to contact CS since that happen.
CS chat in app is useless. All the issues they will ask customer go ask merchant, go ask bank, and submit dispute form.
During the chat in app. CS ask me submit dispute form and walk in to the bank.
I went to CIMB and bring the rejected receipt and bank staff told that I need to contact bigpay and ask them to report this issues.
BigPay ask me go ask Bank, Bank ask me go ask BigPay rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
End up I directly call the phone number behind the BP card. 1 of the staff pick up and said will try he best to solve my issues by these 2 days. Hope he tomorrow can resolve my issues. 3K Stuck there due BigPay system faulty.

1st Transaction 3000 ( 10Aug )- Reject Due Insufficient Fund ( I believe ATM Not enough money cuze I got 9k inside during withdraw )
2nd Transaction 3000 ( 10Aug) - Reject Due Un-success Authorise
3rd Transaction 3000 (13 Aug ) - Automatically appear and status reversed.

I believe bank already response bank to Bigpay reverse that transaction. But somehow BigPay System issues created another new transaction with status reversed and my previous status become settle.
Somehow why the settled transaction will charge me RM 3000 instead of RM 3006 ( Suppose got RM 6 ringgit withdrawal fee )
I won't accept they ask me submit dispute form because this is BigPay Internal Issues.

Anybody facing this issues before?

Search my post. Happened to me before, 3 times. You have to send in dispute form, wait roughly 2-3 months for them to investigate before they credit the money back. Sucks but that's the risk of doing loading/withdrawing.

Overall, only very top premium credit cards will have very good travel insurance coverage. IMHO better to get single trip or yearly travel insurance, not very expensive and better coverage. The cc exchange rate + forex charges will be more than the cost of stand alone travel insurance + use bigpay.
I currently have a yearly family cover which includes any travel 50km away from home. And I use bigpay for all forex expenses (unless I'm in need of airmiles then I use muvi). I also get DAN dive insurance plan to specifically cover diving trips.
As for cash, its too difficult for me to go midvalley, and 99% of the time, bigpay rates equal or better money changer. I just withdraw when land at airport.

Anyone tried to do car rental overseas (in this case Australia) using BigPay before?

Under the T&C, it states that they only accept credit/debit card with name on it, so just check if anyone managed to do it.
*
Depends on rental company. I've used bigpay before. Some don't accept, only wants credit card. What I do then is swipe guarantee with credit card, ask to pay full when return car, then that time will use bigpay. Alternatively, book and fully pay online, just use credit card for guarantee when take car.

Thanks. So far I tried to book via Thrifty and Budget for 2 rentals, but don't have the pay now option.

Hopefully I can swipe the rental fees with BP and the deposit with my CC.

Out of topic for this thread but I use vroomvroomvroom to compare, then go specific website using code. Eg I generally find hertz, europcar and avis cheaper. Particularly like hertz, with visa or amex code. Remember to choose show all cars, there might be cheaper ones. I thought I remember hertz have a pay now option.

My case until now BigPay still no take any action to solve my problem. They keep asking me wait and wait. They promise will reply me within 10 days but after 10 days ask me wait again ? Feel like they m want to hold user money to earn free interest as much they can ? Do I need to highlight this to BNM?

Is it a case of atm withdrawal but money didn't come out yet deducted in bigpay? If so, have you sent in a dispute form? After dispute form sent in, there will be an acknowledgment email and also a call (just based on my past experience). Then after about 90 days you will get back the money. Can read my previous post on this.

I no fill up any form for this. I directly call CS and explain my issues and they ask me to upload the receipt thru the app. They ask me to wait and will reply me within 14 days. But until now still ask me to wait again. 90 days ?
Seriously? How can BigPay do this to user? It’s their system issues what
*
Yup like barricade said, it's the price you have to pay. If you search my post, I've kena 3 times already. Just patiently wait, and call/chat/email every few weeks to get update.
I would suggest you fill in and email the dispute form. You can search their faq for it.

As mentioned they merely copied revolut, monzo ways of working.

Also kind of too late to enter Singapore market with so many of their competitors setting up shop. Wrong place to branch out  you don't offer anything back (caahback/rewards)
as there's are already few BigPay likes down there Youtrip,  DBS debit card link to their multicurrency account. Revolut set up office but haven't opened shop in Singapore yet. There's Grab Mastercard which is not ready yet. So let's see how they going to stand out in a crowded market.

And there you go. They earned money form out cash sitting with them. That's why they are so reluctant to let you remove the cash.
*
That's interesting. I remember many thread back got somebody mentioned that they just keep their money in trust, cannot touch. Yet it seems they earning interest on it.

You can ignore that guy comment. He's known to blow his own trumpet.

I'm user of Youtrip and Grab Mastercard in SG and also in queue to receive Revolut. Each has their own value proposition and I believe if BigPay launch in SG they can score big.

The money is in trust account

So how they making money? End game still to build market share then do online microlending?

Quick question, oversea withdraw rate (ATM) subjected to the bank exchange rate instead of bigpay conversion rate? In other word, it is not worth to withdraw from oversea atm right?
*
Very worth to withdraw overseas. I don't go money changer anymore. Just withdraw when arrive airport. Always choose local rate ie don't allow the atm to convert. Then you will get real-time mastercard rate.
As an example, last time I went Thailand, when want to withdraw, the atm auto convert and the rate was really bad, 6.3 baht or something, whereas actual rate was 7.3. So I choose don't convert. Do note there's additional rm10 charged by bigpay. And some countries there are additional charges (eg Thailand 220 baht per withdrawal).

There is option for dont convert during withdrawal ?
I'll try again later.. Thanks for the head ups..

Yes, some atm that auto convert will have the don't convert button. Other atm never convert, directly deduct based on mastercard rate.

Don't scared people. Withdrawal is a feature of this card, up to the daily limit. Nothing to stop you from loading 10K every day (via bank transfer) and withdraw 10k (or $9982 after deduct RM18 withdrawal fee for 3 withdrawal) everyday.

LoL

Abuse, abuse then slap the service provider for not sticking with their word. How pathetic. If you guys were moderate, would they have gone this way? Look at the mirror before complaining.
*
How is it abuse? People are doing things as per t&c. Sorry disagree with you.

This I agree, just follow t&c, nobody should comment/discourage others from maximizing benefit. We should be sharing ways to maximize benefits instead.

What advice needed? Just do it if need to. If query, just give explanation. I've been topping up for my wife for 2 years. My friends top up for their kids studying / traveling overseas on school trip. No issue whatsoever.
