BigPay doesn't block any AEON cards. I've been top uping with my AEON Gold and AEON Big. But they do block the card if you did too many of the same transaction per day.

I love BigPay because I can top up from my CC and consolidate all my spending in a single card while getting rebate from all my CC issuers. I am not like most typical forumer to reload and withdraw (maybe done once or twice because hitting 10k limit).
But if it's classified as Cash Advance, it'll be in the drawer until I purchase any AA flight. |

I thought there's an ATM limit of 5000 per card per day? How can she withdraw 28k one shot?

Just accept it that's nothing you can do with surcharge. There are so many ways to go about that. Many go by cash discount nowadays, isn't that the same?
Or if they hike the price to cover CC charges, then everyone complain why cost of living is so expensive. The best is to push the merchant rate even lower, and from there the effect multiplier would be more effective. |

QUOTE(majorarmstrong @ Jul 3 2019, 01:14 PM) going thailand this weekend - gonna spend with my BigPay again hope rate is good. anybody know what is the thai exchange rate at BP now? how to check? Money changer: 13.575 for 100 baht.Heading to Thailand next week also. At first I though of swiping there for most items with BP, then I saw how MYR is dropping. Ditch the BP idea and changed real hard cash 2 months ago at money changer. Changed 20k baht at 12.97. Compare if I go there and use BP, I need to fork out RM 120. So sometime, BP is not the best idea Biggest regret - didn't change more |

QUOTE(Reventon @ Jul 3 2019, 05:27 PM) On the other note you can use Merchantrade card to change it to THB if you feel the rate is good. Their rate is very competitive as well. Sometime its even better than BP. I've always on the hunt for cheap currency because I do travel quite a bit. BP has great rates, but I can't lock in rates when I think it's cheap for me to buy. Hopefully someday they can introduce multi currency card. BigPayJonathanHope the prepaid card limit increase in future. For verified account should make it to 30k . I did toyed with the idea of Merchantrade but thing is I don't know how reliable is it. I don't want to wake up one day and read Merchantrade has gone bankrupt And banks, you need a lot of capital for foreign account. Not to mention their rate sucks. |

QUOTE(mr_tuzki @ Jul 3 2019, 09:25 PM) You can't compare like that. That is currency speculation. It could go up, but similarly it could go down, and you could have saved an additional RM120. I know forex relatively well. I do trade. But with BP, I can’t lock in the rate at a particular time. I’m not saying that BP doesn’t have good rates, it’s does. But I’m trying to say not 100% of the time BP will be the best solution. What we're comparing is like for like. So on a particular day, we compare BP forex rate vs money changer rate, and BP rate is lower. If you have knowledge / experience in currency trading and think that MYR is gonna depreciate, then of course go change foreign currency now, but that's in the realms of currency trading / speculation already, which has it's ups and downs. That’s why if BP can hold foreign currency (like YouTrip), then it’ll be so much greater travel card especially with their great rates. |

QUOTE(coo|dude @ Jul 3 2019, 10:40 PM) No need to look that far, there's one in Malaysia already that you can consider: Merchantrade Money Visa Prepaid. Yeah, I think I need to do more research on it. I know it can do that, not too sure what’s the spread. Need to compare and see. And hopefully it can be converted back and cash out easily if I need the cash.Let’s not get derailed. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 22 2019, 10:09 AM) if u guys noticed, for few months already; there is no more 10k cc reload limit (as far as bigpay app's concern) I still can't top up more than 10k via CC in June. I had to use bank transfer after maximizing the 10k.the checking is only to wallet limit (10k), and show you the balance to topup. This post has been edited by tifosi: Jul 22 2019, 11:27 AM |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 22 2019, 11:31 AM) i noticed back in apr/may when the max topup balance was >9k at the end of the month (i've topped up few Ks in that month). i thought the cc limit was somehow reset, but noticed it's the balance for wallet limit instead. Normally 10k is more than enough but that month I have heavy purchases, so I needed extra. Tried to top up beyond that, aiya cannot. So need to resort to bank transfer.didnt try to topup. still abiding the "10k reload per month rule" They should limit people from withdrawing from ATM max 5k a month but can top up unlimited amount to be used. Our currency is so weak, 10k can barely purchase anything in foreign currency |

QUOTE(joevo2 @ Aug 2 2019, 02:02 PM) I think the most logical way to deal with CC topup and withdraw/transfer is to have a surcharge for CC topup while lower rate for mydebit and free for online banking. No. That would not be effective. They need to encourage people to use BP and not deter them. Free top up, but charge them if they want to take out the money from BP. It's a win for BP because the money would be stuck in the ecosystem and people really use BP instead of just the gateway/intermediary of getting cash back from CC.With that BP should have free instant transfer using DuitNow to any bank. With that BP would be a nice "Digital Bank" with a really good app (in comparison to our other local bank app) that we can use to pay our bill, act as salary account and transfer to friend. I've been a long advocate of that. Top up for use BP as normal instead of withdrawing. This abuse also cause the CC companies to pull back cash back because since everyone is topping up and withdraw, how la bank going to sustain. What they can do is charge maybe like 1% or more if you want to withdraw/transfer to your bank account while offering great rates for TT to foreign account/swipe in foreign currency. |

QUOTE(joevo2 @ Aug 2 2019, 03:48 PM) The goal of BigPay is to be a worthy competitor to bank. If they wanna go for digital bank, they cannot focus on BP Card anymore. They have to launch new products and feature that attract more consumers over. If just the local transfer to bank without any other benefit, nobody is really going to use it. BP card is just one small avenue. If there's transfer fee/premium of let say 1% to other bank, that would not be possible for them to be a Digital Bank. That would only make them at most a prepaid card. Agree that they would want people to keep the money in them but instead of a transfer premium, they should apply interest of some sort to encourage people to transfer in/keep the money in it. Charging extra for foreign transfer I would not complain but local transfer would be a big no no for me. Some oversea digital bank/multi currency prepaid card (cant recall which one at the moment) have a fee for CC topup but not for online banking/debit card. I think this is a good way to deter people from topping up via CC then withdrawing. The usecase you are describing is perfect for prepaid card. But again... Their goal is to be a digital bank like Revolut/Monzo in europe or WeBank in China. They are not going to stay being just a prepaid card. Thus they need bank transfer to make it a "Digital Bank" It's gonna be interesting time ahead. |
