Cards carrying the brand MC and VISA international are not allowed to have surcharges for their usage. If any merchant wanting to impose this surcharge then ask them to itemise the bill - purchase of services/products and surcharge imposed.  Anyone should reject and report these incidences to your bank or MC/VISA International.

This is credit/debit card usage 101.

Next time I want to report merchant d, as so many merchants out there charging 2% on payment using card.

I have one service provider which claiming collaborate with BSN, utillity bill paying services , TM registration bla bla bla, etc, I went to pay utility with card, wanted to charge me 2%, end up i opted to pay by cash. vmad.gif

This card seems to be great for transferring MYR to SGD.
Can topup RM 10k then withdraw 3k SGD one shot (has anyone tried?) at HSBC and only charge RM10. Damn worth it.

Like not enough cash in Japan. Withdrawing from atm ok?Will eat my card or not lol. RM20 fee? Exchange rate OK bo?
*
Can withdraw, each withdrawal BP charges RM10, Japan ATM may/may not charge, subjects to Bank, usually you will be able to see on the ATM screen.
Exchange rate should be very good, at least better than you CC or DC. thumbup.gif

Eat card if the ATM "hungry", remember to bring other CC as alternative/back up. sweat.gif

guys, i'm new to bigpay & just got my card last month. wanted to ask your opinion has anyone used bigpay card in this manner? any disadvantages?

my daughter will soon be studying in Australia. i wanted her to apply another bigpay card & used it in Australia for ad hoc big item purchase, air asia flights or emergency cases. i will transfer the money to her bigpay in emergency cases. i guess it will be cheaper than using a malaysian credit card in australia.

any better approach?

thanks for all your help in advance.
*
This serve the best on that purpose. But provide another back up card to her, just in case error occurs.

I think it's a good idea as for users who actually based long term at oversea like children who study oversea and using BP and need not to allocate a phone (or a sim slot) for Malaysia telco.

Anyway, if BP happens to expand to oversea in near future, unsure how the application works, like if I were in SG, can I apply another sg- BP dominated in SGD. Future queries, no answer required. smile.gif

FYI, if you're based long term overseas like me, you could actually change your mobile number in the bigpay app to your overseas number and you'll be able to receive OTP via sms in your overseas sim card. This is useful for making online purchases with bigpay card. When you're back in Malaysia you can easily switch your number back to Malaysia number.

Sos: been there done that

Tried to use the card for my hotel payment and restaurant. Both failed.

Should not be any.
Are you using swipe or contactless ?
If you are using contactless, is this the first time?
If this is the first time, have you swipe by using pin based earlier?

For China usage, sis fruitie may be best person to advice to certain extent. icon_rolleyes.gif

Today tried HLB Damansara Utama (only got 1 atm), no longer can withdraw 4k, not even 3k, then give up

Then I tried OCBC Damansara Utama, got 2 ATM, both only allow maximum 2k withdrawal

Then I tried SCB Damansara Utama, I tried the ATM with 100 notes (the inner most ATM), there is a sticker said max 3k withdrawal, however, the ATM allows max 3.2k withdrawal

Thanks for trying and info.

Have to question why, if they said not entitled, then ask why previously rewarded? And customer assumes rewardable hence customer use it and now cannot means they are doing different standard (we call it not honour).

I have reread the 1st page too.

The only benefits is when you have the CC that allow to reload this card and entitled the CB from the CC.

But I don't have any CC that allow to reload this for me to get the CB.... and I don't travel that often.

I have see the history of this card, how long will this card stay alive? His previous sibling, big pints big pay, ezpay all dead.

I just got myself lazada cimb prepaid card (previously known as KWIK CIMB), favouring prepaid card for non-terminal slot sucj as online shopping.

Terminal wave/slot for me quite safe.
*
If you do not own a CC - no CB.
If you do not travel - good exchange rate is meaningless.

The only thing you may earn is BigPoint for your case.

Your "stay alive" mean to stay active in market? previous sibling still can be used but the feature and benefits might not be good compared to latest product in the market.

Taiwan's bank do not impose ATM withdrawal fee from foreign bank.
*
Bro, what bank ATM you tried with BP for withdrawal at Tw ya? Try the max withdrawal and how much allowed?

QUOTE(bbhing98 @ Oct 18 2018, 02:51 AM)
Update: I realize different ATMs here in USA has different limit on the amount of cash dispensed. In my uni, there's 2 ATMs(both PNC bank), one which dispense only 25 notes and another which dispenses 40 notes. all the ATM's that i've been to so far, they only dispense $20 cash notes, hence 40 notes is $800. thus it becomes much cheaper if I am to withdraw the maximum amount allowed to even out the rm10 charge by bigpay and $3 charge by the ATM issuing bank.
*
Thanks for the detailed info.
Yup, if each withdrawal amount higher and max out, the fixed withdrawal fees imposed will definitely much cheaper for each dollar withdrawn relatively.

To update.......

Ambank Bonuslink....... it is 0.3 point for every RM1 top up.

3 points for RM100
30 points for RM1000

it is equal to 0.3% instead of 3%
*
Oh really? confirmed as you using this card?
that's very little, almost not worth to.

btw, should be
RM1 = 0.3 points
RM100 = 30 points
Rm1000 = 300 points

still 0.3% though bangwall.gif
