My Bigpay account was blocked (MasterCard - exp 2022, replaced in 2019 due to fraud) since last week. I couldn't top up in the past few days.

Then yesterday, I tried and successfully activated the virtual card (Visa) and managed to top up!

The replacement card is carrying the old number?

Hello, i've read through abit on the red card scam on this forum . My mom earlier today received a whatsapped call from someone claiming to be from bigpay.

As she only had about rm 10 inside the account and was focused on doing other stuffs  , she obliged to most requests without any suspicion up to the point they asked for her M2U account that was used to topup credit into the bigpay account . After a while they sent a digital form which she filled in her login ID and Password for M2U. It was right at this moment she realised it was a scam and immediately changed her password for M2U and realised the rm10 in bigpay had been transferred out.

She then told me about it and mentioned that they actually tried applying for a loan via M2U as she received some automated email from Maybank which she further called maybank and clarified that that process was not successful. She was terrified and still is and worried on the successful application of the personal loan . Till now i'm still curious on how can they apply for any personal loan via M2U as the process should be tedious and would require documents such as scanned copies of IC/pay slip etc? Any sifus can share some insight on these?

Sound like what Boost is doing last time. Testing out bank deposit feature and then remove credit card top up for the sake of security features. I hope I am wrong.....

I believe if no details given they will have to close your account. This will heavily reduce the scam because they can easily see the real details of every BigPay account (including those who are receiving the scammed money), unlike now.

If you are old timer, or did transfer fund from BP to your local bank acc before then you should already have that info.
