Been driving the 2nd gen 2.2D Fwd DCB since Feb this year.
Already clocked about 24k on it.
No major complain so far, only those minor niggles that we have already discussed here

idrive or i-Stop?
if iDrive, you're driving X5, not CX-5

Price varies, from RM500 to RM3000 or so.
The expensive one normally comes with free maintenance while the cheaper one have to pay for maintenance
Best if you ask around and set your budget.

Those branded one from Sierra Glow, Ceramic Pro, etc, which have been in the market for many years can easily cost >2k

My SA at Glenmarie told me that need to pay deposit of RM500 first and they will call you once the unit is available for installation.
Considering the unit itself cost about US$199 in the States, I think RM1.4k is on the high side.

If Bermaz charge between RM800 - 1k, I would have bite at the offer
Right now, I'll just wait and see first

My SA at Glenmarie told me that RM1,400 is nett price inclusive of installation and 6% SST.
The retrofit unit is for both AA and CarPlay but was told that since AA is not available in Malaysia's Android Store yet, so it is not activated yet.
no idea how true it is though

I doubt so, cos reports so far indicate that the upgrade is by changing the USB ports to enable AA/ACP with 2.1A charging capacity and USB wire harness.

Once I managed to get 20km/L driving for 40km from Melawati to Serdang, at 7 a.m on a Saturday morning with speed around 80km/h and rpm between 1500-1700.

If I continue driving at that speed, maybe can get 8xx km for a full tank, but where is the 'zoom zoom' feeling in that eh?
Right now, I'm still quite pleased of getting 700-720 km (mixed-drive) from my regular Petronas station for my daily work commute

One of the lessons that the instructors teach at Mazda Advance Driving course is how to activate the ABS by slamming the brake to the max at 60km/h
Participants did mention that CX-5 brake power is kinda soft before we started our practical, so they asked us to jam brake at 40, 50 and 60km/h until we get the hang of it

Need to upgrade your brake kit then

Better to request, as they will write down your request on the service form

If that's the case, you can inform the SC verbally not to update your MZD Fw.
For me, for my 30k service in a month time or so I will ask them to update to the latest FW
When the Android Auto/CarPlay module is available locally from 3rd party installers at cheaper price than the SC, can upgrade straight away

There's one guy in FB group that is offering pre-order the AA/CP module for RM850 w/o installation, RM950 with installation but w/o Fw upgrade or RM1000 all-in

But BHP Euro5 tends to give me better mileage, compared to Petronas, Petron

I'm using Petronas too due to the 8% CB on weekend when using MBB Ikhwan, but at my place in Taman Melawati, have 2 BHP stations within 2km from my home, while the nearest Petronas with Euro5 is about 4km away at Taman Melati.

For my driving pattern, BHP can give me additional 20-30km per full tank over Petronas

Bermaz SC comes with free car wash, not sure about SC operated by dealers

Only helps for ease of cleaning, but for protection against birds dropping, tree sap, and keeping the shine and gloss, not much really.
You’re better off with regular waxing and polishing.

I believed some members already retrofitted the original CarPlay/AA module at Bermaz for RM1,400 nett.
Thing is the module is on pre-order basis and have to place a deposit first at Bermaz.
Once the module is in stock, Bermaz will call you to arrange installation.

Bermaz Glenmarie have been quoting RM1,400 all in all this while.

I've just came back from Bermaz Glenmarie to collect Mazda's desktop calendar from my SA and he confirmed the price is still RM1,400 all-in as he quoted me last month.
But he suggested to wait first as who knows price might drop in the future if the module is widely available.
Right now have to place a RM500 deposit and Bermaz will call to arrange for installation once the module is available.
