Hello! I want to buy a headphone/earphone priced about RM50 to RM200. Currently my choice are Philips SHP895, Philips SHP8900, Creative HQ-1400, Creative HQ-1700, Koss PortaPro and Yuin PK3.
I prefer head/earphone with wide soundstage, clear and tight bass. I don't need boomy bass. A good example of my type of music are Michael Buble's songs. Which headphone or earphone fits me best? Are there any other better phones that I can buy with the same range of budget? This post has been edited by mengsuan: Feb 12 2008, 09:15 PM |

Currently my choice are Philips SHP895, Philips SHP8900, Creative HQ-1400, Creative HQ-1700, Koss PortaPro and Yuin PK3. i guess for that budget u could get the X3i which are in ear monitors.I prefer head/earphone with wide soundstage, clear and tight bass. I don't need boomy bass. A good example of my type of music are Michael Buble's songs. Which headphone or earphone fits me best? Are there any other better phones that I can buy with the same range of budget? circumaural headphones for under 200 a lil tough. the only one i usually recommend under 200 would be the philips shp2700 (RM80) coz thats the only one im familiar with...or perhaps u could top up a lil and get both x3i and shp2700?? |

I don't like those in-canal types like X3i. Bud types are okay.
SHP2700 looks physically appealing. Will consider that. |

I am finding a BT earphone for music. Any recommendation beside Itech Clip D-Radio? Will the sound quality differ a lot from the wire one?
Thanks. This post has been edited by hOnGhOnG: Feb 16 2008, 09:45 PM |

Bro,
i really need your suggestion and recommendation. I want to buy a headphone for personal use. QUOTE Budget : Not more than RM 300.00 For your (guys) information, I have Grado SR80 and Zalman 5 Channel Headphone. Taste : I prefer a headphone which good in bass (able to reproduce deep and strong bass) and treble. Sound stage not important much Using Purpose : With my PC (equipped with SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Platinum) . No amp available. Music genre : Trance, Dance, Electronic, Disco, Remix, Rock. For me, Grado is a very good headphone. Soundstage and clearity is superb (for my ears), but this headphone really lack of bass (for my taste). The bass is there but not punchy enough (espcially for trance, electronic, rock musics.. example). Zalman, is an OK headphone. Having dedicated 4 tiny speaker in the headphone able to produce pretty loud sound and pretty good in supporting 5 channel sound. But the soundstage is....errr not suitable for music listening. Movie is OK. Bass also quite weak. So, I need a heaphone which very good in bass and treble, but its ok if it not crystal clear and not as transparent as grado BUT better than zalman. Something like that la. I believe, with my description regarding grado and zalman, you guys could suggest me a headphone which might suite my taste and limiting budget. Thanks a lot guys. |

The cheapest headphone amp cost about RM150.my mp3 player have problem, the sound is too slow. so i need a set of 3.5mm earphone with external volume adjuster. i mean the one you can increase the volume somemore. i donno what you call it, amplifier?. pls recommend me something. budget around rm50. lul. thanx. |

Hi guys,
Need some advise here, i recently bought an AKG K701 Headphone. Purpose was for gaming. But once i hook it up..the sound quality is superb no doubt about it... But the question is, how come the bass from my AKG K701 does not really come out. Compare to my old Koss Headphone. By the way i using Audigy Sound card. But i have to max all my Volume to get a decent sound out of it. But the base is still very low... Do i really need to attach to an amp to boost the sound?? Or can i just buy an external Sound Blaster Audigy2. Will the base goes better? Regards |

u need to get an amp....although the K701 has low impedance it really needs an amp to properly shine...
also dont expect to get superb boom boom like a 12" sub woofer from the K701....they tend to have a very neutral sound signature...flat across the graph. u wan bass in a headphone then the DT770 is the only way to go. |

When u say AMP...meaning i should get a decent 2.1 speaker...with a input jack on it. Just plug it in...it should work fine??

cant think of anything under 300 other than the Grado SR60 but that is said to be lacking in bass...
or mebbe can check out the Audio Technica and Sennheiser headphones in the bulk section...might have something that fits ur budget. |
