so better not buy HD201?

Not to say it is better not the buy HD201. It just not really suitable for modern musics. I may disappoint you.

hi folks, currently on Audio technica ES-5 but wondering which model can recommend for:-
1) good sound quality
2) comfy fit
3) good soundstage (i.e, really there kind of feeling)

Will be ATH-AD700 good? Or i other brands will be fine as well... seinheiser, bayer, etc... budget RM$500 no probs! blush.gif

but wondering if worth to get such good headphones if my mp3 tracks are mostly 128kbs with only a few at 320kbs? not really a technical guy, but love to enjoy good quality music though

Added on January 30, 2008, 11:50 pmone more requirement, don't require an amp!

it is pretty hard as for your requirement, as bigger soundstage normally will have positive relationship with an amp biggrin.gif

can let us know wat is ur music preference?

It's hard to bring a full size can along for bus travelling etc. Why don't you consider an IEM?
ES7 improvements? Tons. Whaha...

I don't really like iems (although my only experience with IEMs was the Sony Ex-71 & the Philips HN-60). After moving on to the es-5, off went the EX-71 into the bin (Ex-71 is really crappy in comparison). Are there any worthy IEMs out there in the market? I just assume the soundstage on those things are terrible. I know there are good models out there, but at quite a high price, so maybe if i could spend my money on quality and just sacrifice on compactness smile.gif

Anyway, looks like my es-5 is going off to the bin as well. sad.gif

...

Because, i just got my es-7 and burning it in now, baby! biggrin.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

It's quite sad. the Es-5 has a leather pouch, whereas the es-7 only has a cloth pouch? oh well wink.gif

I want to buy clip-on headphone that is outside the ears.
I saw Lowyat plaza selling some Koss and Sony models before but forgot which model and how much they cost. In bulk order, Koss Ksc-75 is selling at RM80. Today I saw in Carrefour got sell Philips SHS4702 selling at RM69 and Panasonic RP-HZ56 selling at RM70.
I preference are first comfort and secondly sound quality. Can experts here please give some advice? Thanks.

Congrats on the purchase. I guess you are quite happy with it. But what you have tried (ex71 and Hn60) aren't good at all. SQ wise, only audiophile IEMs (e.g. UM2, X3i) are acceptable.

The Audiotechnica clip ons are most comfortable, but they cost you a bomb. Personally I don't like KSC75 comfort but for SQ wise, I have to sacrifice myself a bit, tolerate the pain a bit. Some say it's very comfortable, it depends on your 'head-shape' cool.gif

Thank you. More questions... hehe
Where to get Audiotechnica clip ons in Malaysia?
I guess you are saying that Koss KSC-75 is better than both Philips SHS4702 and Panasonic RP-HZ56 in terms of comfy and SQ, right?
Then I will choose Koss KSC-75 instead of the trouble hunting for an Audiotechnica.

I think it's trustable. Went to their storefront for my latest purchase and they were promoting their website/forums as well.

i assume you're talking about www.jaben.net though

ive heard the X3 and it was amazing with Cradle of Filth... it also did very well with any other metal songs i threw at it. so the X3i would probably be a step up from the X3.

but ive never listened to any of the 3 u mentioned above
