that'll save alot of $$$ for the props and hiring "Kelefair" . don't forget to invest on a military grade camcorder than will only crack slightly after being drop 1 million times.

and by renting that probably u'd burst ur budget already...hehe

anyhoo... cut costs by me being the main actor... cut costs + fame = more dough from the fame! ching ching bling bling!

oh btw - to shoot in dv/hd then to kinetransfer for prints to cinemas already cost nearly rm100k ...life sucks innit?

Added on May 6, 2008, 11:35 pmshort movie easy quite ler coz it's short... no need to pay so much on casts, location, etc etc....but ask them to produce a feature film, say more than 80 mins...then sure different feel one...coz the story needs to be really good to engage the audience for the long duration...

You know, you guys are thinking so big about 1.5million. I dont think Malaysia ever made millions from a single film because the audience that watches movie are so little. The majority are just buying stoopat pirated DVD or downloading and most malaysians can't even understand english properly and you know, the biggest audience so far is Malay love story which in the first place doesn't attract much from other races (other than Malays) unless its Yasmin Ahmad quality....

so talk about raking in millions? You gotta first start by thinking how to get people from all races to watch your movie

Oh and by the way since we're on the topic... I challenge all movie makers out there...

PLEASE MAKE MALAYSIA'S FIRST FEATURE FILM THAT IS FULLY ENGLISH WITH NON-MALAY ACTORS


p/s: so sorry if u guys feel its a bit too racist a post... I am seriously pissed for the lack of appearance of non-malays on screen and also pissed that there is no english malaysian film

exactly, a movie shot in dv? muz b a big joke if u wanna get it into cinemas.
HD? there is oni one current post house which can giv u pure HD. n it is not cheap to do so.
so let's say if u get the DOP, director, crew for free. u still have logistics and paper work which need money for u to handle.
which is y i am pointing out to people, not too speak too loud when u noe nth abt the cost of shooting

name me a few local movie that has surpassed the 1.5 mil mark.

with a budget less than 1.5 mil.
