No problem... for new car below 1000km - just drive like normal - don't frequent speeding / step hard to accelerate should be all good.

like below 4k RPM and below 100km/h ? Does it even damage the pistol?

Just received update from SA that he has 1.3G Red Myvi for me to get now.
My spouse rejected it because she want 1.3X instead of 1.3G...  we just need to wait again.

*We placed order on end of Sep 2018 and promised will get it during Dec 2018.

Which area sales outlet did you buy from? Is it in Klang Valley or outside of Klang Valley?

I just removed the HU bracket to install TV free cable. For those who don't want to buy the bypass cable, can also diy loop the tv free wire lead as shown to ground.

Also, I put plenty of thin silicone tapes over the chrome trim clips as well as the silver plastic trim clips to make sure squeak and rattle free dashboard.

Hi bro dont mind me asking, to open the Hu bracket, start from which side ya?

Here are the steps and do refer to the picture above: (no screws for the plastic trim and HU bracket)

1. Adjust the steering wheel to the lowest position.
2. Put the wiper and signal stalk to the lowest position as well.
3. Remove the black plastic trim as shown with the yellow outline first. It's easier to pull out from the right side first (red arrows). Use plastic pry tool or just finger nails (cover your finger nails with thin cloth so you won't scratch or damage the plastic) to pull. After pulled out all the clips, remove the trim by lifting it up.
4. Around the upper left side of the instrument cluster (green arrow) you will notice a orange coloured clip. Reach in and use your finger to push it out from inside. Use your other hand to help pull the trim from outside. After that, you will be able to remove the whole piece of bracket as shown with pink outline.
5. Remove the hazard light wire harness from the bracket.
6. The HU is secured with 4 screws (2 on each side).

It's very unlikely you can patah something up to this point. If you want to go further like me to separate the chrome and silver trims, then yes, those clips as shown on my previous post can patah so be very careful.

Above is for those who don't want to buy the TV bypass cable. At the back of the HU, look for the cable bundle that looks like above pictures. Notice that the cable colours may not be the same as yours. Just loop a cable as drawn in green. When the Tv and G is connected (Tv grounded), it is exactly like the handbrake is pulled up.

any good product to recommend that can remove those stubbon stain?
the car wash n wax shampoo currently using not doing much sad.gif

i've been using meguiars wash and wax, the lines still appear, but easier to remove each time. the door handles there are cause by the rubber perodua use, overtime it will cure and stop doing it.

That would be in Perodua Balakong (Selangor), in between The Mines / AEON Cheras Selatan.

yo..
so my lil bro is gonna take over my car..

and now im considering to get another car.
i have no plans to upgrade to a honda/toyota or anything. i wish to keep budget <60k and use the extra money for other better things than spending on a car.

so idk to get back iriz or the new myvi.

what are your thoughts?

what i've like the iriz so far after owning for 3 years is
1) safety and solid driving. i actually enjoy driving this car a lot. and im quite a heavy footer, so the iriz's sturdiness gives me a lot of confidence actually.

2) related to the point above, driving on highway at 100+ km/h the car feels very planted, the steering is tight and grippy, etc. proton's car handling is really top notch.

3) so far no major or minor problems (apart from the god forsaken poor QC and build quality like dashboard and door rattling, etc)

what i've disliked:
1) petrol consumption (its utter shit. same FC as my 2.0 Sonata at home, for a 1.3 car?? smh.)

2) poor build quality or quality control, dashboard/door rattling. unaligned glovebox, etc.

3) routine servicing. idk how much better perodua's is, but everytime i send my car for service (every 6 months), it takes 3 hours+ just for a simple routine engine oil change. so i feel that everytime i need to send my car for service which is basically twice a year, i need to spend like 1 entire day at the SC.

so i'm trying to see feedback from current myvi owners to make my decision.

Few points from my experiences
1. Myvi uses electric power steering where as proton still having hydraulic system if I am not wrong. I always felt the confidence when I was using proton saga fl.
Being a 1.5adv owner I can assure you that it is stable untill 140kmph with driver alone. Sometimes the steering looks very light but will get used to it.

2. Build quality is average. I am fed up with rattling sounds from Myvi. I went to service Centre for fixing this issue atleast 3 times, but it will continue rattling here and there.

3. Ride comfort: I would say Alza suspension is good compared with Myvi, though they are from different category.

4. FC is really good for a 1.5AT gear box. I used to get an avg 12kmpl in KL city drive and 17-18kmpl on highway, keeping at speeds 100-130kmpl.

5. Sound proofing is not great. Especially when it rains, the water splash on the wheel well is obvious.

6. With upgraded speakers and a added underseat sub, will get a decent music listening experience, but still need to work on sound proofing

Let simplify your whole p1 Iriz comparisons to the following:
- p1 chassis & handling win p2 hands down
- p2 resale value win p1 hands down
- p1 tech reliability at a mercy of p2 reliability
- p2 new myvi models are fully loaded win p1 hands down
- p1 image has a slight upper hand than the p2 notorious Myvi
- p2 new myvi interior space win p1 hands down
- p1 repairs bill scare the shyt out of p2 happy myvi faces
- p2 anytime a smart consumer choice than p1 miserable failing campro tech

hmm about this, is it really that much a difference? idk my 1.3 iriz exec just renewed insurance, the valuation was about 26k for a 3 year old car.
the otr price was 48k at that time, but my actual cost was only 42k due to various discounts. so 42-26k= 16k depreciation for 3 years isn't that bad right?
and after checking for myvi 1.3 second hand prices online, its about 30k. no doubt p2 resale value is higher, but that 4~5k difference doesn't exactly scream like i lost a lot of money to warrant getting a car based on the 2nd hand resale value alone.

anyway idk why this is still floating around as well. my iriz for 3 years masuk service center for routine servicing only (engine oil, oil filter) cost about rm 140 each time?

i found online it says http://www.perodua.com.my/service-maintena...wmyvi-1500cc/10
for myvi first 10k service (basic engine oil), totals about RM 188? that's more than my iriz wei.

im even more shocked when i see 20k service, RM 357.43 ???

you compare http://helios.apdsecureapp.com/proton/serv...vice%20Menu.pdf
for iriz every 10k service (basic engine oil), for first 3 service meaning 1k, 10k and 20k its only RM 122, after that including labour its RM 192.

i dont see how p2 is cheaper than p1 at this point..
no seriously, go see the link and compare for yourself.
why is the myvi's maintenance so much more expensive? hmm.gif

1. iriz uses EPS as well, its very light when low speeds like driving in parking lot can literally use 1 finger to turn it.
but what i like about the iriz is, as you drive your speed increases, the steering becomes tighter and tighter the faster you go. so when driving in town its light and easy to turn, but once you drive highway at speeds the steering becomes tight and grippy. its a very very very nice feeling. idk how to explain. does the myvi EPS behave the same way?

2. as for this, im concerned. because im sick of rattling sounds from my Iriz too. if Myvi also got rattling sound then i really rclxub.gif
i heard the new Myvi has a lot of qc or build quality issues? because they rush to produce due to so many orders. is that true?

4. yeap one thing about p2 they always have better FC than p1 cars.

5. oh yea speaking of this, how is the myvi's shell? the iriz shell like doors and roof is pretty solid as well. gives a loud solid "thunk" instead of tin milo sound when opening/closing door, or when its raining too.

i know the Myvi also got 5 star ancap like Iriz, but the lack of HPF reinforcement makes it seem less solid to me..
