I really like the fact that the monitor support the potrait mode. thumbup.gif
It's silly of Samsung to include portrait mode on a TN panel. Imagine the abysmal color change and viewing angle changed.

DELL 2407WFP-HC just dropped another RM100 to RM1899 now. Grab it guys. Those who already have it, grab another unit and make a dual display.

Help! Help! WTF***! My newly received 2007wfp got problem! Its like this:
after setting up and turn on the monitor, I use it for a while. After that, I restart computer. The word "Dell" came out from panel,
then monitor power off, and I can never on it again... doh.gif  cry.gif

Try a different power cable. If that doesn't work, ask for a replacement from DELL.

I've call Dell's technical support, she ask me to try unplug all the cables, then press power button for 10 second and plug back the power cord and try. Nop, nothing happen! Then, she tell me to change using different power cord like what kianwee bro said. No way, STILL cannot switch on. Damm, she ended up asking for my details to send a replacement for me... sad.gif  My rating for Dell suddenly drop from 10/10 to 5/10! doh.gif

Time to invest in a good Backup UPS. I have a 650 APC running for each of my LCDs.

One of the best looking low end LCDs. I will definitely get one when it's here.

The dispatch will call you one day in advance. But it is not possible to scrutinize on the spot, the dispatch people is not going to stand there waiting for you to check, they deliver, you receive, they go, end of story. If you are not satisfy with the unit, call DELL again and they will arrange for a replacement.

is waiting for PC fair to buy monitor or buy now? especially the 22" wide which is 849 now? please advice.
*
I think there will not be a significant drop during the fair, considering it is already so cheap now. The fair is still 3 weeks ++ away, if I were you, I would get it now.

thanks for the link  notworthy.gif
yup the Dell promotion is very tempting, but im quite picky of the picture quality.. sad.gif
so far for the 22", LG and Samsung are the best for me  smile.gif
so my first priority is to get the Samsung, then if no stock ill go for LG  smile.gif
*
You probably haven't seen the picture quality of a H-IPS panel yet.

There's someone doing a bulk on 226BW for RM1k in bulk order if I am not mistaken.

H-IPS? What's that? I thought there was only S-IPS.

TechnoDude94: Under 1k, you can pick from the LG226WTQ (from bulk, I believe under 1k also got) and the Dell E228WFP which should be about 800+. Acer's 2216W is also under 1k although that one personally, looks and feels flimsy.
*
H-IPS = High Aperture Ratio In-Plane Switching.

H-IPS > AS-IPS > S-IPS

And yes, there's a lot more than just S-IPS. smile.gif

That's normal human reaction I guess, the bigger you go, you won't go back to smaller screen. Right now I stopped at 30", can't go any bigger anymore.

Wow, congrats guys, it looks exactly the same to my 2007WFP except for the size (from the outlook of course!) smile.gif By the way, regarding my question on how to set the resolution to 1280X800 or 1440X900 instead of native 1680X1050, no one hav any idea?
*
Just change the resolution like normal. 'Settings' under 'Display properties'

wooh grats B. seems the HC version looks exactly the same as mine. Lets hope the panel's performance is much better than mine.

The feeling's the same Foogray. T_T anyone wants to buy a 24" monitor?
*
Keep your old panel. I love it more than the new HC panel. When I run first unpack it and run the HC beside my non HC, the non HC display better black than the new HC version. Color reproduction wise, I see a very very insignificant improvement, so little that it doesn't need to be taken into account at all. Damn, now that I've sold both of my old 2407WFP, I'm feeling a bit sad. This HC version is going to be auctioned soon.

Kianwee really got lotsa LCD.
So which PC LCD do you prefer the most consider performance/value.
*
1. 2007WFP. It has a good panel (if you got the S-IPS revision), Composite & S-Video, plus 4 USB ports. Excellent panel if picture/color quality is what you demand.
2. E228WFP. An excellent price for it's size and build. But I do not have one, yet.

kianwee, you own dell 20 inch widescreen? is it Entry Wide Screen version? Can give me little review on it? good for video and gaming?
*
2007WFP is not an entry level WS. It can be considered high end version. It can be used for almost everything, video, gaming, surfing + graphical works. It is so good that I have twins.

which 22' WS would you recommend as im looking for quality for gaming and movies. thanks.

Since all 22" WS quality are about the same, I would go for E228WFP since it is so cheap right now.

Unfortunately, my job requires me to face LCDs more than facing homosapien. Just like ruffstuff said, that is what I do for a living.
