hello all. i'm a newb here so please excuse me if this is the wrong place for this comment.

i just bought a Samsung 2232GW 22" LCD widescreen monitor.

everything seems great except one thing, the backlight bleeds through on the top and bottom of the screen. its not as noticeable during the day, but at night you can definitely see it. I can really see it when i make my screen saver "blank".

my question is, are there models/brands that cut down on this backlight issue? i've read quite a few reviews and it seems people are just expecting there to be backlight bleeding, however my parents have a sharp aquos lcd tv that has none that i've ever seen.

You cannot compare backlight bleeding on a LCD TV and a PC LCD, PC LCD tend to get worse when it comes to backlight bleed. If you want a perfect LCD without backlight bleed, go for Apple Cinema Display or NEC Professional Series. But get ready to fork out extra on those. smile.gif

Hi, I just bought a Dell 22" LCD monitor, I notice that for the upper part of the screen is more darker than the lower part. Is that normal? Is my LCD broken?

But when I off my room light then it become better but still can notice a bit upper part is darker than the lower part.

I am new to the LCD world, never use 1 b4... tongue.gif

That is normal. Backlight bleed is uneven in your case, stronger at the lower part.
