That really sucks man. If I had known their dead pixel policy was so shitty I never would have taken the risk getting my 2407. Luckily there were no problems with my monitor, but seriously seven dead pixels!??! Shake the monitor until something breaks inside and say it was ruined during handling.
*
If you know how DELL warranty claim works, you don't even have to do that. Just call them and tell them you have 10 dead pixels, or even hundred. They will send a replacement unit right away. Their dispatch will not examine your unit. In the end, your 1-dead-pixel LCD will end up in some box and will be sent out as refurbished unit for the next lucky guy that demands for a RMA.

If I were you people, I would not b1tch about one, two or even three dead or stuck pixels, unless it is really obvious and bothers you. You demand a RMA - you get a refurbished unit. I have received countless refurbished unit from DELL and majority of the units are filthy. You can see finger prints, oil smudges and even ink stains on them.

hm..

Guys.. how long usually does one-on-one exchange applicable?? Until when??

And when we call for warranty claims.. will they send in courier to take the unit back or they themselves come in and pick-up the item??

But wow.. kianwee.. you got so many LCD arr?? sweat.gif
*
They will send 3rd party dispatch to pick up from your house. The one to one exchange applies throughout the warranty period.

Every LCD will have I guess, just that have to see how serious it is.
If you want to go for 1680x1050, suggest that you should upgrade your current system. Even if you get a powerful GC, your proc will definitely bottleneck the performance.

Majority DELL LCD will have backlight bleed. Not so much on ACD/NEC Professional series. By the way, the 24" NEC LCD2490WUXi is officially brought in by NEC Malaysia. Any NEC fans out there? Time to get one.

Any LCD without any backlight bleeding at all? Just curious. And the 13 set of LCDs, you own it all? If so, possible to snap a shot on all of it? biggrin.gif
*
So far, only ACD, NEC and my first RevA00 banding 2007WFP has zero backlight bleed.

You didn't know this HC version is coming before you bought yours? Forgotten to do homework ehh I guess? tongue.gif

The news is out about 2 months earlier. It costs exactly the same with the older version.

Yea, i guess the chances of me getting refurbished unit are quite high. But then, i will still try to make a request since my LCD is less than 1 month old..

Anyway, how can i detect whether i am getting refurbished unit or not?
*
1. Refurbished units come in a big tall brown box as compared to short flat box for new units.

2. Brand new replacement has a blue 'BRAND NEW' sticker on it.

3. The stand is already attached to the panel if it is a refurbished unit.

4. Enter the service menu and see the number of hours used. New panel most likely has less than 24 hours. I have received a refurbished unit that ran 60 days. But DELL can reset that number. So beware.

Yea, i am curiously wanting to know what is the panel of my Dell LCD. What are the panels that they have?

Cause at the back of my LCD, there is a sticker stating that the model is E228WFPc. By any chance the "c" means C Panel?

EDITED:

Great news from Dell. Their response is absolutely something to be praised about. I called them regarding this issue on Monday evening. Due to the problem of me not in front of my LCD, they could not solve some problem. Instead, they emailed me during the night, and the day after (due to the fact that i didnt check my email that day  tongue.gif ). After a confirmation email with them about my faulty LCD on yesterday night, they called me just now regarding this issue..

In their part, they say that they will be sending me a "BRAND NEW" LCD tomorrow via a courier service. Well, i double confirmed with them and they still say its brand new. Therefore, i MIGHT really get a brand new one. Anyway, just in case, how do i check whether its refurbished or not?

The product is not launched yet, only have leaked image so far. No spec yet but my speculation is same panel with 226BW.

if indeed more that 10 pixels they'll exchange it

You must be having a bad day. I've exchanged more than 10 times and non of them ask me to submit a photo. Straight 1 to 1 exchange without question asked.

Exactly. Any rookie can do it. Just a dot. Put a baby at the mouse and start clicking! laugh.gif

The least expensive Full HD LCD monitor from Samsung. First 24" TN panel. Good new for gamers, nothing impressive for graphics designer. Hold on to your money first - those who owns a 8800GTS and above, and decided to get a 22". More low end 24" will enter the market soon.
