one thing to note here is that nobody forcing you to take some super expensive premium 500-1k permonth.
getting the "cheapest" option available should be "good enough". partly insured is better than non. im pretty sure some of us pays more for car insurance than life insurance. why believe more on one side and not the others? |

Read the policy. Most of the people lazy to do that one. When kena then blame here and there. Some insurance product got hidden term or limitation on how much you can use.

Instead of going to gov i went to KPJ Hospital. Went to emergency section, showed my insurance card. The hospital and Insurance (AIA) settle sendiri while i just goyang kaki screaming in emergency bed. Within 1 hour everything settle, room ready, got myself a single room ( very gooding ). Room itself cost 185 pernight. Operate at 9am settle at 12pm Monday I am writing this post while recovering on my comfortable single bed hospital room. Proof of my admission, Check attachment, this is the tag from my IV bag check the tag 4/6/2018 Payer : AIA other detail censored for obvious reason I think the whole thing would cost me RM7 to 10K. Obviously i wont be paying that much cuz im insured Bare in mind that im reasonably healthy 25 years old, Appendix burst out of FUCKING NOWHERE!!, Night before i was healthy af, chilling with homies and stuff, next day burst |

No, it is not a scam.
Insurance works like it should. You pay a premium just in case you have an accident. Same for cars/house/etc. Even MNCs or large companies have employee insurance, building Insurance, equipment insurance etc. All insurance products are vetted by bank Negara. There is no special one, only a cheaper or better packaged one. Some add in more coverage, some give you more benefit, some last you longer in life, etc. Weakest link of any insurance companies is the agents themselves. Because insurance products can be adjusted to adapt to different people, it depends on agents to tailor it for you depending on your income yearly, your needs, your disposable income, your age, health etc. Those unscrupulous agents who only want to seek max profit will sell you the moon for a dollar in order to get you to sign up. False verbal promises, bad explanation, bad representation etc. They don't care about you the customer, they only care about their bottom line. Which is why it is always good to have an honest friend as an agent. They are fair and treat you right. All agents need to make money, but it is important for them to be honest what they are selling and what is promised must be delivered. For them it is a numbers game. The more they signed up, the more of them keep paying premium, the more commission they get over next 6-7 years. Good agents that get popular will get more referrals. Just beware of the bad apples. Luckily nowadays got internet can really compare products and premiums. This post has been edited by Skidd Chung: Jun 6 2018, 07:11 AM |

Depends on what insurance. For medical, car, asset, risk and marine insurance is definitely not a scam. For those special insurance like savings, etc is definitely a scam. Your returns are way less than market.

gg financial illiterate so high in Malaysia.. Life insurance is a means for you to hedge uncertainty in getting critical illness, hospitalisation and other illness in case you couldnt afford it because it cost a lot.. It also provides lump sum payment in case your kaki or tangan patah or when you die... Everyone should include insurance in your financial planning.

Not a scam, but you need to assess your own risks. To the company, you're just a statistic. So, if people with your demographics are a health risk, then expect to have high premiums even if you are an outlier who takes care of his/her health.
That's why companies in many countries are now rewarding people who take care of their health with lower premiums. |

Rmb the 21 yo that died because lack of funding? Hos bills were more than Rm1M. Furthermore medical inflation is at least 15% every year also, insurance companies nowadays already pissed off with hospital exorbitant charges, if they still keeping the price, maybe in a decade alot of insurance companies may gulung tukar or merging with other companies. |

For me Medical insurance is legit.
Even for a short stay in hospital will incur a few thousand ringgit bill. Some more have the post checkup bill. If you are healthy and never claim it before you will think its not needed but when you do really claim it... you will be thankful u had insurance. |
