Actually, high end/mid-range Samsung TVs (except a few lower end Q series inm) from 2021 (or even 2020s) already support HDR10+ via AV1 video decoding. It's a matter of when/if Samsung wants to enable for older devices.

2025 models are a given of course.

anyone with a Samsung S90 or S95 ?

in my use case, I'll be putting this TV in the bedroom to replace a 2022 Samsung The Frame, one special thing I liked about Frame is that it hardly had any reflection when powered off most likely due to the matt screen.  because I have some LED lights from aircond/air purifier/phone charger and not having them reflect off the screen when sleeping is really a game changer.

I know the S95 has the same matt screen as the Frame but honestly not really willing to spend that extra based on every review that place S90 above S95 in price vs features. Unfortunately I don't stay in a major city so no chance to view these 2 screens in my local showrooms.

haven't been able to find any review that shows clearly what the screen of S90 or S95 looks like when powered off ....

My 65" QN85D just arrived, replacing my 6 years old 55" NU8000. Nothing wrong with the NU8k, I just fancy a bigger TV for the living room. Got the QN85D for rm4.4k and will redeem rm500 TnG credit. TV is manufactured in Feb 2025, so it is not an old stock.

At first, I expect the QN85D to be just a small step-up over the NU8k, but after the picture adjustment, I'm surprised the difference is big. It is brighter, has better bloom control, better contrast and no more brightness change when subtitle is on in HDR.

The NU8k is still going strong but started to show its age (lack of app support). For less than rm4k, I think QN85D is underappreciated and performs better than expected.
