speculation only

if the TMnet NOC just did a soft-upgrade on the port. the latency should be same.

the Path Mode "Interleaved" or "FAST" <= possible effect latency ??? (no idea)

another possible reason, u see lower ping on 4M. probably they use new\better hardware 4M package.

1M\2M ADSL & 4M ADSL2\ADSL2+

don't forget TMnet routing & IP range, do effect latency connect outside TMnet network.
*
That does effect the latency , FAST mode possibly better and Interleaved. Take a look at this site , you'll understand more on latency ,and those two modes

http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/interleaving.htm

It has nothing got to do with IP Range. Trust me , you're given a higher pirortiy in traffic. Same IP range but higher priority. Look at the 4Mbps users now , they seem to be enjoying at a higher speed tongue.gif

hi, all guy here have been using 4mb for a long time

i update my 1mb to 4mb last week

and today the technician came to my house to do some setting( i dont know what he doing actually)

then until now i speedtest only get 13xx kb/s, dl speed is 16x

then i see the old post u all posting, really need wait one more week to speed up until 4mb?

or that is my best speed already = =, which i still can get that speed , when i was 1mb user be4
*
It takes 24-hours to 48-hours to raise the account cap from 1Mbps to 4Mbps

Basically you're account is capped to 1Mbps. It will take couple of days for you to get

Anyway , post your screenshot of your modem config. I want to check whats the speed he has set for you

jealous.

300mb file complete in 12min .
Microsoft, nVidia, Yahoo, Apple.com, ati.amd,  got premium connection to Malaysia. and u got 99% satisfied speed and 99.99% good connection all around the world ( correct me if wrong)

so u probably get good speed from the site. But what about some small/medium company? Then u might facing slow connection to their site.
*
Well not bad after all. Haven't given a shot at other services

Some sites , well i've seen it goes as low as 30 and as high as that speed. Not bad after all , but to tel lyou the truth it really sucked bad for the past week , whereby some people do say that they're getting good speeds and i am getting not soo good speed

so is my line stable for 4mb connection??

thanks
*
Yes

I believe that they should cap it to 5Mbps instead of 4Mbps. Call up TMNet or write to them , demand them for full 4Mbps , tell them you want to enjoy full 4Mbps

waa, now my streamyx install already

can do like that now?
*
Call your Installer. If he gives you stupid excuses. Just get his name and then forwardi it to MCMC and Help@TM. Tell them that you were capped wrongly and demand them to cap you at 5Mbps that is what I did and voila I got capped at 5Mbps , but I am getting 4Mbps full

That does the trick. My installer gave me lots of excuses !

my installer even phone also no pickup = =

can report to tm? i damn angry with this
*
Don't call him

Just write an e-mail to TMNet and MCMC. Take a screenshot of your modem cap and tell them you want it at 5Mbps - otherwise you'll just downgrade the package to 1Mbps. Tell them you're not even getting 3.8Mbps !

Well Mr Alien , I think you can't. Check out few pages back , I've posted the official requirement for 2Mbps and 4Mbps.

Anyway , 4mbps is okay. The think I like bout it its the upload speed , not the download. I've managed to get like 60KiloBytes/sec for upload. Now that is great !

yup...4Mbps = 500KBps...anywy...do u think UL = 512Kbps is enough for DL = 4.0Mbps? sims like not really stable...
*
You must understand how ADSL works. In certain countries , you're given 12Mbps Downstream with 512Kbps of upstream and such

For me , its worth it as I am a guy who uploads a lot. The upload speed would certainly help me in serving web pages and such

pls help..currently i'm using 512kb package, i saw tm website got listing my house street can support 4mb then i went apply 4mb combo packege. after 2 days got a technician came over my house said check my line?? after he simply checked said my "downstream" show on my modem only capped 1mb so can't upgrade to 4mb? it is my snr margin too low?
user posted image
*
Your SNR Margin looks okay and your line Attenuation is pretty poor. It has to be less then 10 in order to get 4Mbps

anyone UPGRADE to 4mb combo still getting the same ip range?
*
4Mbps nor 2mbps would give you special IP ranges. You'll be still using the same IP range. As for me , I am still with my 118.x.x.x range

Its totally normal , but the good thing is that i am getting good speeds on a sunny day tongue.gif (or whenever there is sunshine) (I am talking about the connectivity here folks , not the weather)

if not premium, are they partition the user

4Mbps with 218.xxx
1-2Mbps with xxx.xxx
384-512Kbps with xxx.xxx

i more interesting on the latency for 4Mbps user, are they any better ? iirc 218 should have low latency to most site "gaming heaven" drool.gif
*
Indeed its low

I believe 2Mbps and 4Mbps users are allocated with 218.x.x.x IP , they fall under premium services by TM !

Sites to China are slow , but thats not my concern.

I am happy at least I can play some US Servers without constant lag (lag spikes ,etc)
