Just kidding bro, that's what i felt when driving the car light footed. Not sure if Eco mode is just an indicator of you driving light footed or there is something going on under the hood.
*
I think it's just an indicator that shows you're driving economically.

Just took my car, RM63 for alignment.

I didn't get to see the error code, it's not written on my receipt.

My steering wheel is noticeable lighter now.

UPDATE: Test drive around, they did a shitty alignment job, my steering is straight but car swirling to the right a little.  doh.gif
*
Lol, I had the exact same problem with their alignment. I always send outside to do alignment/balancing. Just avoid the shops that ask to change the camber.

Hi all

Sending my new Iriz for first service soon, I live near Pandan area, just moved here actually, before this I send my Proton to Bangi area, all ok thumbup.gif but this area I'm clueless sweat.gif any SC recommendations?
*
Not sure in Pandan specifically, but I went to Pesona Mahir (Cheras 9 Miles), and the foreman there explains to you the problems. The customer service is good.

I went there for adding insulator to my AC switch panel which was rattling like crazy. Now it's better, but the aircond vents might giving some rattles as well.

Ok just came back from Proton Edar.

They said they might replace the steering shaft, maybe even the whole steering system.

I have to leave the car for 2-3 days for them to diagnostic again.

Luckily my car is still under warranty or else I have to pay RM1000++ for the parts.  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
*
I noticed one thing about Proton Edar, they exaggerate a lot, when it could just be a smaller issue. For instance, they told me my whole dashboard needs to be removed and re-fitted due to the rattles; hence, they wanted my car for 3 days. There was no compromise in their statements.

I found 3 issues myself, the steering cover metal piece was hitting something in the steering rack area, my AC switch panel needs more insulation to tighten it, and my third brake light just needs extra tape. Third brake light I did myself. For the other two, I went to another Proton service centre (Pesona Mahir), told them these are the issues. They added insulators, and tightened things up, and told me they might need to fix the aircond vents as well (rattles a little as well over rough roads) which we agreed would be during my 10,000KM service. This has solved about 80% of rattles in the car.

My advice would just to go to a Proton foreman who can explain things clearer to you. Your problem might just be a faulty motor, but because of their lack experience (since they just used to solve things by saying "biasa la proton"), they need 3 days to find an issue which should be able to be solved by reading the error code. My father's Perdana V6 ABS light was always on, he sent the car to Sri Petaling Proton, foreman plugged in their ECU reader/computer, and found a faulty code which should not be there. There was actually no problem with the ABS, and sensor just needed cleaning, and removing that line code. The car works fine.

Did you get your air cond vent's rattle fixed? My car just started having rattles at those areas too. Sending to 3S Puchong tomorrow.
*
Not yet. I'll just live with it until my next service (~7000KM to go). But if you manage to solve it first, do let us know their method. biggrin.gif

I just got back my car from 3S Puchong. The rattle still persists but reduced a bit la compared to when I send it. The mechanic also said the rattle caused by the airbag got 'biji2' thats why can reduce it only but cannot completely eliminate it.
*
QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Aug 22 2019, 04:41 PM)
Whichever the propellant, I hope all is 'burnt' up in the inflating process... I don't wish for any 'unused' biji2 to become shrapnel...  sweat.gif
*
Seriously? Rattle because of airbag biji2? Why do I doubt this explanation... perhaps, because the biji2 is inside the airbag? Is it hitting on any plastic? Is the biji2 plastic pieces that create rattle sounds? If that's the case, then get ready for shrapnel to hit the face. Hahaha.

Anyway, I'll update on my end after my next service, which may take 2 months though. Unless, the sound becomes too annoying to bare, then I'll send it in early.

QUOTE(Elf71 @ Aug 22 2019, 04:28 PM)
True. Myself as an example, I feel good on my new owned Iriz and in my opinion Iriz is worth buying car. So far I am satisfied and have no complaint about the car build quality. I am more concerned on their after sales services.
*
I don't doubt the Iriz is a good car - I always have fun driving it on Saturdays (other days stuck in traffic), the acceleration, response time, and engine/gearbox noise levels are fantastic for the 2019 version - but their design of the dashboard and other plastic items must be changed. They have always focused on ride and handling, but with our current road conditions, traffic, and fuel prices, they tried to change their cars to something more comfortable and fuel efficient. It's 70% there, I think.

They really need to re-analyse on how they build their cars. Most people complain on build quality, which translates to the parts being used and the assembly line. If the latter is really the case, let's wait for the X70 to be built locally (CKD). As for the former (parts), seems like Dr. Li Chunrong pointed this out during the his launching speech for the Proton Saga 2019.

So, the question is, can Proton's vendors make parts which are competitive in price and good in quality?

A good car reflects an easier after sales service. Customer tak pening, Proton tak pening.

The 2019 Iriz executive
*
According to the Audio Manual (in MyProton App), Long Press that Power Button for 8 seconds will reset the system.

For the premium variant, under the Settings > System menu, there's a reset to factory defaults. It solved my problem with my radio which kept switching on for no reason.

I wonder if there's an AndroidAuto that fits to the Iriz.

Proton Iriz 1.6 Premium reporting, 1st gen model haiz. Need advise from members here..

Just wanna know, proton sc quoted me around rm600 for the cvt oil change. The service will be done at 60k mileage.

So should I do it at proton sc or outside shop. My only concern right now is that outside foreman wont do it properly like the sc..
*
When did you buy your car though? 2014? If still under warranty, better go SC.

If not, I think "Tuned By Campro Rules" can do the job. Seems like a lot of satisfied customers on their FB page - and they explain their steps/package as well. And they can fix the "lag" in the older generations. Anybody has gone to them here?

p/s: even proton foreman might not do it properly. lol

From his personal testing
Iriz 1.6L CVT
100km/h @ 2700rpm
110km/h @ 3000rpm
0-100 km/h = ~11sec
Top speed = ~178km/h @ 5300rpm

Unfortunately it was raining when he's did the climb but he did praised the handling of the car and he saw some Perodua's spun that day.
*
Did he change back to D for the Top Speed test or he maintained in L?

If that's Silverstones if he's using, he's really a daredevil biggrin.gif . Dry corner also I'm scared with my Silverstones. The tyres actually slipped a little the other day when I emergency brake (dry road).

hope this experience doesnt make you feel like what others had said :

" this is the last proton you buy!!!  "

maybe it will be smooth afterwards in your ownership
*
I'll consider to change because of the build quality and FC, not the SC.

Try changing a gearbox (under warranty) at Ford. It's just as bad. When it comes to serious technical problems, many SCs (no matter the brand) have issues. If you're one of the lucky ones with no problems whatsoever with your car, you'll have a good experience with any SC.

I might even go for a hybrid 5 years down the road since they're getting cheaper.

Does anybody know how to remove the aircond vent on the left/right side? Do I simply use to a pry tool, and squeeze it in between the dashboard and vent, and pry it open?

Anyone with 2019 Iriz joining the 1 Tank Adventure? How la going ~1000km on one tank.
https://www.proton.com/en/promotions/1-tank-adventure-2019
*
I think it's achievable, but must keep it about ~100km/h, steady. I did it once and got below 5L/100KM - but I couldn't tahan, then started pushing Myvis out of the way, so it went up. Couldn't really test how low it can go. But to achieve this, it must be below 4L/100KM. No way I can tahan driving a 1.6 at 100km/h for 1,000km.

Hi, need advise regarding tinted for new iriz 1.3 executive. My SA said he got me voucher for tinted and I need to add another RM300 for any specs that I need and 10 years warranty. My question is

1. Do I need to used that voucher  or I can just go to any tinted shop without using those voucher?

2. If so, any recommendation what brand to use and shop. Am living in Kelana Jaya right now. Don't want to overspend on tinted.

Thanks in advance!
*
My SA never offered me tint installation, she just gave me RM500 voucher for I-Kool tints. So, I couldn't go anywhere else to use the voucher. Personally, I-Kool seems really overpriced. RM1.5K is for the mid-range tints - just okay heat rejection, almost fully visible. Went to another shop to add darker tints.

My friend used Advance I Tint (http://www.advanceitint.com/product.html#parentVerticalTab31), feels much better than I-Kool tints - I think he took the i5 Premium HD + they gave him discount, he paid RM1.5k.

If you have the budget: 3M, LLumar and Solar Gard are really good tints, but the price... rclxub.gif

New user here, Iriz 1.6 Exec 2019

I have few question what is the best RPM for Iriz for best FC?

Also I am wondering why I can't change the display of the speedometer lcd? It always shows distance to empty. On other cars usually you can see other values by clicking on those elongated knobs?

Also the media LCD screen can it be switched off and only turn on when reverse camera is engaged? Having it on all the time is a waste and will reduce the lcd life span I guess?
*
Just make sure the Eco light is on, hence you're driving economically. cool2.gif

For the media screen, you have to switch off the screen after starting the car. Maybe they should add an automatic screen off after a few minutes (idle) like a normal handphone.

Hmm but i can't switch off the the screen. It just switches off the radio that always starts up when I start the car haishh

The screen still showing the kinda android home screen
*
I had a similar situation, I exited from the radio menu, and turned off the car. But when I started the car, the radio magically began playing. I did a factory reset, and it solved the problem. No issue so far since.

Pressing the power button did not switch off the screen? I'm not sure, since I'm using the premium model, but logically, the power button should switch off the screen. Try doing a reset, nonetheless.

Just pull out, by holding the both side of the vent. It's only secured by wedge type, no fragile clips there. Don't touch the movable part else the vent will probably break.
Left side is easier to remove, after removing glovebox you can push the vent from the inside.
The right side you need to slowly pull left and right until it slowly detach.
*
Nice. Thanks a lot. I've actually been following your guides to fix the rattle sounds in the Iriz. biggrin.gif

Have link to that guide? Hehehe

It's on the first page of this thread for the head unit, AC Knob/Switch Panel and speedometer panel.

And there's also: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry86392680 which lists all the rattles.

My 2019 Iriz still has some of these sounds. Lol.

Solved AC Knob/Switch Panel rattle, but now I have a screw loose sound whenever I go through rough roads. I though it was the steering cover, so I opened it up and put some spongy material. The steering cover doesn't move now, but the screw loose sound is still there. Weird.
