QUOTE(pearly603 @ Apr 2 2008, 03:01 AM) Maybank's is an ATM & Debit Card 2 in 1 . I checked with EON bank and PBB before , if you used their Debit card to withdraw money from a 3rd party bank ( other than EON & PBB ATM ) , there will be a RM10 charge. For Maybank's 2 in 1 ATM plus Debit Card , withdrawal of money from an ATM of a 3rd party bank will be charged at RM1 , but the staff told me that you need to have an account with Maybank and for a savings account the initial amount to open the account is RM250. All those with Maybank KawanKu ATM card can replace this ATM card with the 2 in 1 card . And there will be a fee of RM12 but I forgotten to ask whether there is annual charges for this 2 in 1 card. Anyone here know about this ? I would also like to know how is the acceptance of Maybank's Debit Visa Card ? I heard from friends that Maybank's Debit Visa Card's is not so good in terms of acceptance by merchant. Is it true ? EONBank combi debit mastercard only charge normal RM1 when u withdraw money form 3rd party bank through bankcard/meps networks in malaysia....just like normal ATM card....it is an ATM card actually....same as maybank visa debit...

QUOTE(phat @ Apr 4 2008, 04:16 PM) I got both Credit card and maybank debit kad. Juz got both last month..hehe.. For me, the debit kad is a good thing bcoz maybank will charge 50sen on the 5th transaction onwards using the atm card. So, to avoid dat payment, i use the debit card.but as usual, shop owners dunt trust debit card. I argued with a bata shop during my 1st use of the card. Stupid cashier..dunt want to swipe my card juz bcoz its a debit card. But after a while, da supervisor came n swipe it. For credit card, i use it for emergency cases..but will most likely not use it at all.. why some merchants do not accept debit card i don't know.. they should accept it if they display MasterCard & Visa accepted logo... some merchants also set the minimum amount to use card..this i also dont understand... in the USA, even 2 bucks drink is preferable to use card rather than cash....

QUOTE(phat @ Apr 5 2008, 11:17 PM) Owh..if only i read ur post earlier,i would have used dat exact word. I wanted to buy a new spectacles today, ask da cashier can use visa or not, then I gatal ask him can use maybank debit card or not?ofcourse he would say no..caused i wauz in a hurry, dunt have time to argue with him, so end up using my CC. But da prob with maybank debit card is dat maybank had been relentlessy advertising disdebit card. So ppl,esp the cashier, already know how da debit card looks like..as an example of the bata shoe shop, i didnt say dat its a debit card, but da cashier knew..dats why she doesnt want to swipe.. if its happen to me(the cashier dont want to accept), i will suggest to the cashier "better u peel off VISA/MasterCard logo in front of their shop & cashier counter or i'll complain to consumer body" ....stupid put that sticker but they dont accept when u want to use the card....

Anyway, I apply SCB debit card because of the interest rate. i opened esaver & debit mastercard for 7% petrol rebate... too bad the promotion will end 30 June.... unlikely to extend due to hike in petrol price...but what can we do.... everyday we must consume petrol (for those with motorise vehicle la).. lets utilise it while still can !! higher petrol price mean higher 7% rebate....hehe

my transaction was £17 and later i see the authorized charge at my card account online banking is RM95.43.... i dont know whether the rate is good or not...but i already saved £4.... very satisfy with PB visa electron...smooth transaction too....

QUOTE(lwk523 @ Jan 28 2009, 08:13 PM) I'm going open esaver account but I have one question ...... Anyone can tell me ,,, standard chartered debit mastercard is more better or maybank debit card or this two card are the same ??? std chart debit mastercard : cannot verify paypal...other online transaction not sure.... maybank visa debit: cannot verify paypal...other online transaction not sure.... so basically the same...of course if u compare maybank to std chart, maybank better becoz their cash deposit machine is everywhere, even petronas got their CDM.......while std chart very CDM/ATM very limited ..... i'm using PB Visa Electron, verify paypal smoothly.... I purchased airline ticket online RyanAir also smooth sailing.....

public bank just imposed rm24 annual fee to my visa electron... thinking of change to day2day card la...
but that one not electron card right ?
advantage of visa electron is if book flight at ryanair or other cheap airlines in Europe, no need to pay card handling fee... other than visa electron, all need to pay 5 euro if im not mistaken...

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Aug 8 2009, 04:44 PM) BSN has VISA Electron since long time ago but it's not popular at all. CIMB has e.Mastercard. Basically it is a prepaid card. The downside of this card is that you cannot view your card transaction via cimbclicks.com.my. No statement will be mail to you either. You will however, still be able to check your card balance via any CIMB Bank ATM. CIMB Bank e.Mastercardso this cimb e.Mastercard no link to normal saving account ? can transfer money from SA to the card online at cimbclicks or not ??

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Aug 9 2009, 04:16 PM) No. CIMB e.Mastercard is not linked to your normal savings account held with CIMB Bank. You can transfer money from your CIMB Bank savings account to the e.Mastercard through CIMB ATMs. If i remember correctly, you however, will not be able to transfer via cimbclicks.com.my. There were advertisements in The Star and The Edge a few weeks back. so where we can view our statement than ?? they send a paper statement or what ?? i think it would be perfect if it appear in cimbclicks.... i prefer debit card that not to be linked to saving account (like maybank visa debit & eonbank combi mastercard) becoz i think if its been stolen or lost, the card will easily been used by other people to purchase goods....if our salary goes into the account, even more disaster....huhu....
