QUOTE(digilife @ May 4 2018, 07:51 AM) Lionel90 As much as i wish it, kindly don't involve any politics in this thread. yeelong If Pakatan wins on 509 , Liverpool lift the cup. believe it or not ? the similarities are uncanny ? Let's focus on Liverpool here. and hope that LFC won UCL regardless the outcome on next Wednesday. |

From Champions League qualifiers to Champions League finalists. I wonder how many times a qualifier has won it? I'm not foolish enough to take it for granted but I can't stop romanticising the thought. Just over 3 weeks to go before we find out so in the meantime, here's some literature to digest.
https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/liverpool-champ...inal-how-176664 QUOTE “You have to fight for it, not just talk about it,” he said on October 9 2015, when he also vowed that under him the players would “conquer the ball, each f**king time. We will chase the ball. We will run more, fight more.” Certainly seems to be our ethos. Surprisingly however, we rank only 11th in terms of distance covered (https://www.premierleague.com/news/510837). Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal cover more distance than us as a team. I guess we're more… "organised"? This post has been edited by Duke Red: May 4 2018, 12:38 PM |

QUOTE(.:zaxiao:. @ May 4 2018, 04:40 PM) Bad career move. Rangers' board is shambolic and the club is extremely poorly managed. High expectations coupled with poor management is a recipe for disaster. Examples: Gary Neville at Valencia and Chris Coleman at Sunderland. |

QUOTE(jimbet1337 @ May 4 2018, 01:56 PM) VVD looked so Captain in this pic.........He did bosses the defence since his arrival but its still not up to the days of Hyppia & Henchoz yet !!! QUOTE(kenlimfornication @ May 4 2018, 02:19 PM) Seriously they have lower chance to win than Liverpool winning the cup so let's not jinx it by relating these 2. Our Team was jinxed since the Yankees bought over till the German Klopp came is like a Messiah and brought along a Egyptian Messi ......This is the year we shall life the Cup again. Btw, I hope the mole we planted in Barca will bite the knees of C7 this Monday morning in their El Classico so that he cant play in the CL Finals. |

Good luck! Gonna be next miracle, miracle of Kiev or the grand meltdown of Chernobyl Red.
Would like to see Klopp gets his first CL managerial win, Salah the new Messi and the jokes on Cout for leaving the club at wrong time. |

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Chelsea:
Adam Lallana & Emre Can fitness update - maybe fit for the Champions League final QUOTE "Nothing else happened (in Roma), that would be really cool. All still fit. Adam (Lallana) trained the first real football session in Rome after the game. I have no idea if we will use that or not, I have to think about it. That's good. "Emre's important day is Monday, we can make the decision if he starts training, but would be good news for the final but not the last game of the season. Joe (Gomez), we wait for final assessments, we know about that for a few days, but he's not available for Chelsea. On keeping his squad fresh QUOTE "How could I pick different teams (for Chelsea)? No, not possible. Both very, very important. We have two semis again against Chelsea and Brighton, very important, no chance to think about anything else then after this game, two weeks to prepare for the other game. Both exactly the same importance, no difference. "How do you keep a player fresh? I didn't make the schedule. Do different line-ups with my squad, do it and bring it over. We have to do the job. We can't decide about leaving them." QUOTE "From Wednesday to Sunday it's ok. It would be more difficult if it was tomorrow but the time would be enough. The whole season is a constant challenge. We really fought hard to be in the position we are in. "It's not wonderful Chelsea not playing during the week. At the end, we have to be ready for Chelsea. It's similar to Roma. They need to win, we want to. That's it. It's always a difficult place, will probably stay a difficult place in the future." European adventure could be key to attracting summer targets QUOTE “The obvious reasons. There is a financial thing, we are strong enough for that competition, and we will be next year, so we want to play the best teams in Europe. “Everything is set for this competition in all the leagues, play Tuesday or Wednesday, then usually play Saturday or Sunday. When you play Europa League, it’s always Thursday and Sunday. “It’s clear, it’s the biggest club competition, you want to be part of it. That’s why you do it, you want to be as successful as possible. If you cannot be champion, you want to qualify. “We worked really hard for the last two years for it. That’s our championship, the highest we can get in the league, what we have worked for. Now we want to get it.” QUOTE “That’s all clear, it’s the same thing, in the moment, I’m not sure if players we talk to they said ‘if you don’t do it at the end’ and it was all for nothing. But it’s all clear. “We battle and challenge with the best football clubs in the world. Whatever you can do to put yourself in a better position to get these players, you should do it. “At the moment we are quite attractive, good wages, we pay transfer fees, so we can go for a few really good players. But other teams are interested as well and that’s how it is. “A few soft factors, a few harder factors, to help the boys make the right decision. The right decision would be to join us in the future. “It’s clear, if you are qualified for the Champions League, it’s easier to convince specific players.” On Loris Karius QUOTE "The pre-season before the last pre-season. Cool, we speak about a broken hand. Yes he progressed a lot. Obviously we don't have real problems! Yes I'm really happy with this progress, still a lot to come I'm sure. Having games he's had the past weeks, months, nothing helps you more as a goalie. Having fantastic moments, not that good moments, that's all part of the development. "He really took the chance, that's what we gave him a few months ago. It was a big part for us to be more stable in that period. It's cool. That says nothing bad about Simon Mignolet, both in a good shape physically and mentally, they push hard. That's good. All fit, all hard working, that's how it should be. "Before he broke his hand, he was in outstanding shape already, he was exactly the boy we signed. After that, it was a little bit more difficult, that's true. "It was my mistake. I changed too early that time and he was not physically ready. When a player breaks a leg, you know it's a harsh thing, goalkeeper breaks his hand, it's similar and I underestimated that. It's long ago and all good." Chelsea is the “most important game” of Klopp’s career - and then it’ll be Brighton next week! QUOTE The most important game of my career? That’s Chelsea this Sunday. And then Brighton. I don’t think like this. Of course it will very important. We have had a few important games already in my career, they all have their own importance. We won some, lost some, that’s how it is. We will give the game the right size when we play.” Plenty of praise for the work of Jordan Henderson and James Milner QUOTE Hendo and Milly are experienced. More than most other players so they bring a lot on and off the pitch. You cannot be where we are if we have players who hide. They show up because they have the quality to do so. They have the football quality and the mindset to do it. In midfield, we are really quite thin, but they have done a fantastic job but it is what I expected. We are where we are because of these boys.” |

Some analyst said that we become more 'intelligent' in pressing. Even with less distance covered, unfortunately we still run out of steam after 80th minutes. know when to press, when to hold or something like that In our last 4 match, 6 out of 8 goal scored against us were in the final 15 minutes. |
