However, only a few handful of channels where the movie playback at original speed (no speedup), such as tvN Movies and Celestial Movies, therefore some viewers may notice some "frame freeze" at least once on every one second.

Yeahhh,, is this one I mean last time...!!! So what is the solution?

No solution. There's nothing viewers can do about this sweat.gif
Or else, watch the movie on other platforms.

It is because Astro did not to PAL Speedup on these 2 channels' content?

Not necessarily Astro themselves.

If the channel provider (like tvN for example) didn't do any PAL speedup on 24fps content, or any other "smart" ways to avoid the "frame freeze" once or twice in every second, then we will see that "frame freeze" then. And plus, only a minority of viewers would notice that anyway.

Also, new Korean TV series nowadays are shot in 24fps, so you might notice the "frame freeze" once/twice in every second. Examples channels like One and tvN.

But for me personally, I don't like PAL speedup. Although it'll make the video frame rate consistent at 25fps, but you'll have to "sacrifice" by watching the movie with 4% faster than original.
For example, normal playback speed is 100%, but after PAL speedup, it becomes 104%.
And also, the audio pitch of the movie will become slightly higher. This will be obvious to you if there's a background music playing in the movie.

For me, I rather watch the movie with the frame freeze for once/twice every second, cuz at least I'm watching an "original movie" rather than watching a "tampered movie" which has been sped up and a higher audio pitch.
*
I got you!
But last time only VOD is affected on"Celes Movie" Content, is very obvious I feel headache. Only during the schedule Broadcast, won't see any "frame freeze".
Btw TvN I didn't notice any "frame freeze" before on both VOD & schedule Broadcast.

And what a coincidence, that same movie you see on Disney+ Hotstar is only available in Malay and Traditional Chinese subtitles, exactly the same like what you used to see on Fox Movies, which has no English subtitles. So what does this tells you already?
Josh Disney+Hostar NO HAVE any Traditional/Simplified Chinese subtitles for their inhouse content (SHITTY HOTSTAR)bangwall.gif

Same same, but different. Here's a comparison of audio/subtitle languages options between....

Disney+

*For Audio section, if you scroll down further, there is a "Taiwanese Mandarin" option there too.

Disney+ Hotstar

Same show, but different language offerings.
If getting a Chinese subtitles on most of the shows is really your main concern, I suggest you to find your own ways to use VPN and get a Disney+ account and stream your shows there, not on Disney+ Hotstar.
I'm not sure about this.

Can. You can do it anytime.

Like I said before, just Restore Factory Settings and select whatever operating mode you desire, be it Satellite or Plug & Play.

If your box is meant to be Plug & Play mode but you set to Satellite, it'll still work as usual (just like non Plug & Play customers), but the after sales service that is meant for DTH customers won't be made equally available to you as per usual DTH customers.

DTH = direct-to-home, for those that uses satellite dish to receive Astro signal.

For example, your box is meant to be in Plug & Play mode, but you change to Satellite and connected to your existing Astro dish. One day, you notice your satellite dish is misaligned, so you get the SCNA message. This time, don't expect Astro will offer you "free" technical visit lo... Cuz that Astro box isn't meant to connect to satellite dish mah, so if you want them to fix a Plug & Play unrelated issue, then consider it as paying for extra hire service.
Get what I mean? In that case, better just call third party independent Astro installers directly instead of Astro customer service (if you really need help la).

Got it, Thanks Man 🙏🏻

I really not see any advantage when live feed delay 1 min

Update. I called them again (0395433838), they say no record of my call on 21st Oct. Well, wow.

Instead of entertaining my request, the CS asked me to call 0374919888 and look for "sales dept" this time.

When calling 0374919888, automated voice asked me to send request via Whatsapp (option to talk to CS somehow not available). When I whatapp them, the they stop replying when I start talking about downgrading package.

Are they closing all avenues / avoiding customers to downgrade nowadays? This is bad.

Any success story of downgrading package?

Ehhhhh wait a minute.... shocking.gif
Previously I remember each Astro Go account can login many devices. Now they impose device login limit to 4 devices only...? hmm.gif
user posted imageAnd now apparently, each Astro Go account can only stream up to 2 concurrent devices only...?? shocking.gif
Which means it is similar to Netflix's Standard plan (RM45), you can stream up to 2 different devices simultaneously.
For those who don't know, previously for Astro Go is up to 4 concurrent devices, similar like Netflix Premium plan (RM55)...

What on the earth are they thinking now oh? Are they trying to save CDN streaming bandwidth costs or something? Or they plan to have an Astro Go "premium upgrade plan" in the future that supports 4 devices and perhaps some extra features? hmm.gif sweat.gif

This really shit.. I can’t share my account anymore.. DIU

Maybe NETFLIX (got included)

Also, their pack selection interface changed.

Some notable changes include:
Change to 12 month contract: add RM5/month
Netflix selects Standard plan by default, add RM9.43/month for Premium plan
These language base packs changed to "Asian Favourites"
"Plug & Play" selected by default at the "Your Installation Method" part

"Zero contract" option greyed out if you select anything with add-ons (apps). For Primary Pack, if you want to subscribe to zero contract, then add RM15 to your bill. You can only select Ulti Box if you want Zero Contract.
For "Sports Pack" (Primary + Sports), then RM89.99/month (24m) / RM104.99/month (no contract) with Ultra Box. Zero contract also available for satellite installation.

Look like the current SUPER PACK 3A is the worth am I right? got HBO, Disney+hotstart, TVBAnywhere & SPORT PACK only RM139 (after rebate 2 year contract upon signup)
