Between Vanavil and Vinmeen one can go,both have no contents they are repeating the same and just changing time slots! As for Jaya,Raj and Kalaingar all these 3 channels lack good content. Suntv VJtv and Zeetv can deliver excellent content alraedy. Pity sun music is not HD,if only it goes HD then I think these channels are great and enough to deliver the best for tamil viewers

I've been seeing that quite many Indian viewers complain to Astro that its Tamil movies are kept on repeating, and keep airing older movies on certain Astro in-house Tamil channels (i.e. Vellithirai, Thangathirai).
How true is it? All along is like that, or recently especially since MCO started, the repeats are becoming more often?
For India's TV series, that one it's somewhat understandable due to India's lockdown and their production stopped for now, but.... movies? 

Are you saying that Jaya TV on Astro is Malaysia feed (or Asia feed)? And its programming is kept on repeating? How about Raj TV and Kalaignar TV?

Astro Vaanavil will become a HD-only channel from 1 June 2020.

As you can see, it shows only "(HD)", and doesn't have (SD) and (HD) indicator on the channel number list.

Why? Didn't subscribe to HD? Don't worry just yet....

And, according to this email, it appears that the SD version of Star Vijay (ch224) will remain as usual/will not cease. So yeah, simulcast in SD and HD.

Ooh... If the movies showing on Zee Thirai is better than Astro Velithirai and ABO Thangathirai, then it's better that Astro replace it with Zee Thirai instead.

I wonder why is it exclusively to Singapore only
I mean, Malaysia is also a good market for targeting Indian audiences what....

I've been thinking, even with whatever new Indian channels launches on Astro, it doesn't mean that those programmes aired on that channels are very new or "same day as India" also 
But still, better than nothing la  Hope to see even more Indian channels to launch soon.

Errr no no no... That's not the way to determine whether the content is in HD or not.
It's just being relayed/recorded from the HD version of the channel, that's why the "HD" indicator is there.

For example, if you go to SD version of CCTV 4 (ch375), you'll see the HD indicator on the top right corner that says "高清".


But in reality, if you watch that channel in SD quality, the 高清 indicator means nothing already.
Because almost all China channels would put the HD indicator on the side of the screen whenever the channel is in HD quality. Indian channels in India also practices the same thing.
Astro relay that CCTV 4 channel from the HD feed, and then simulcast it into SD (375) and HD (335) version to the viewers. That's why you still see the 高清 indicator, even when you watch the SD version of the channel.

Even if one day, when you see "Fox Sports UHD" on Astro SuperSport 2 HD channel, that doesn't mean that channel is in 4K UHD.

Trust your eyes, or check/determine the video quality by yourself, not by looking at whatever "HD" indicator on screen.

I just realised, now Astro Vinmeen HD also relay the live news slot from Sun News HD channel. 

This screenshot is taken on 21 May 2020 9:23PM Malaysia time. So yeah, it is live, and no delay. 

And I notice that their ad break time is sooo damn long 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Btw about that RM10 switching fee (+6% SST = RM10.60) for any package removal is stated clearly on Astro's General T&C, and this rule has been there for decades already. So this is not something new also.

Cuz the moment you subscribe to Astro, it means you agree to all of their T&Cs already.
So if in the future, if there's similar situation occur in other channel/package, making noise about that RM10.60 when you're not happy and wanna cancel off that package, is utterly pointless la yea...
