What I'm trying to say..
Example like movies..

Saw both countries show same movie same time... On SunTV..
In Malaysia, Astro slip in Malaysia ads. Singapore side theirs..

Something like that ๐Ÿ˜

Later I check back to double confirm..
Compared both countries TV Guide...
*
The movies aired on sun tv malaysia and singapore is same with sun tv india. But certain movie is not same with sun tv india... Both Sun tv in sg and my are their special feed not share with other country but have same schedule with india... all serial in sun tv MY is aired 24 hours after India and movie is aired 2 and 30 minutes early from india.

Ooh..
Like that..
Different feed but show same..
Hmm.. seems like waste resources only....

Should just have 1 feed. Both countries shared... Like Colours Tamil. Singapore and Malaysia shared same feed ๐Ÿ˜
Then between break, can slip respective countries local ads ๐Ÿ‘
*
Astro like to find sponsor for all program in sun tv such as babas, alagapas and so on... so astro make their own feed like star vijay

Ok first of all, the programme air times shown on Sun TV channel on Astro platform, is it Malaysia time (GMT+8) or India time (GMT+5:30)?

For example, if Sun TV channel's advertisement on Astro stated this particular programme will shown on Monday to Friday at 9.00pm
Does that means,
A) Malaysian viewers will see that particular programme is shown as the stated time (Monday to Friday at 9.00pm)?
B) Malaysian viewers have to ownself add 2 hours 30 minutes from the stated time to follow India's time, hence that particular programme will air on Monday to Friday 11.30pm?

So basically, what you meant earlier on how Sun TV channel appear on Astro is:
Sometimes it seems to follow Sun TV India feed's schedule, but sometimes it is different than Sun TV channel in Singapore? Is that true?

What are the differences you see, by comparing Sun TV India, Sun TV Singapore and Sun TV Malaysia in terms of their programming?
I mean, is it like, premiere episodes of Tamil TV serials would be aired on next day, or longer? Or, either one of Sun TV channel tend to air more latest movies, or tend to repeat old shows? Or how?
Focus on the programming first, advertisements later.ย  hmm.gif
*
Malaysian viewers will see that particular programme is shown as the stated time (Monday to Friday at 9.00pm)

But at special occasion such deepavali or India independence day, Malaysia can watch the special show 2 hours and 30 minutes early. Because sun tv malaysia use the same time schedule with India

Sun TV in malaysia never aired any repeated show... it full with new show everyday

Example SUNTV news shown at 10pm here but in Singapore showing at 9.30pm
How about Astro Vaanavil or Vinmeen HD? They stopped showing Sun TV News slot at 9pm (Malaysia time) already?

You mean Astro change the movie airdate to other date to be aired on Astro Vellithirai/Vinmeen HD or Sun TV Malaysia?

Seriously, any idea why they make it so complicated???
Why not Astro just use APAC/Singapore feed will do? Adjust this and that to make own feed, so confusingย  rclxub.gif

Sun TV Malaysia never airs repeated shows? Does this apply the same to Sun TV Singapore (APAC) too?
*
Yes, sun tv malaysia never airs repeated show, because
10am until 3pm is serial
3pm to 6pm is movie
6pm to 10pm is serial
10pm news
10.30pm movie

what program is showingat what time when the HD logo disappeared? maybe they cut over to Colors APAC feed (still in SD) to the Malaysia feed or the program is recorded off APaC feed and inserted for Colors HD MAL?

Here is one news on astro first for those interested.

their content really sub par quality? Not related with locals?
*
Its a politic tv channel from india... and the program on that channel kinda outdated and PQ is terrible...

It often aired about horoscope, religion song and not airing serial, movie or variety show...

In this pandemic time the channel stated showing dubbed english movie because they cannot air any program

Wow.. very advance compared with Malaysia ๐Ÿ˜
Heard Sun,  Jaya & Kalainar also own by politician...

Maybe they find niche market?
Most channels show serial & drama.. they use different strategy? ๐Ÿ˜‚
*

Anyone with HD PVR Decoder with built-in WIFI can try go to Network Settings>Test Connection and see what is the speed test result?
I got 2 decoder connecting to Unifi 100Mbps, but both getting 1.18Mbps from the speed test only. When is raining and I trying to watch from VOD, it always buffering and play few seconds, then buffering.
Streaming from Astro OTG website or phone is totally very smooth though.
*
The same problem also happened to me. The wifi router is placed near the PVR box. I only get 1Mbps from the speedtest

Since your WiFi router is near to your PVR box, then better just use LAN cable.

If you've connected using LAN cable and still getting lousy speeds, then very likely is due to potato quality of Astro's CDN streaming servers.ย  tongue.gif

Try reboot everything (router and PVR box). If still same, try again tomorrow.
Report the issue to Astro if issue still persists tomorrow.
*
I just try using the LAN cable just now. The speed is the same. I only get 1.18Mbps on the speedtest...

Actually my router is very near the PVR. I just tried with LAN connection result is the same. I suspecting might be Astro trying to reserve all their bandwidth for their UltraBox.
That's why I am trying to confirm if anyone with HD PVR getting such issue.

The same problem is happened to me also

What ISP are you guys using? TM Unifi Fibre?
I'm using Maxis Fibre, and I can get 30+Mbps on my Ultra Box.

If you guys are using TM Unifi, then seems that Astro CDN streaming servers for TM is screwed up again  shakehead.gif

Report this to Astro, let them do further investigation.
*
Im using TM unifi... this problem happened for almost 2 month. Sometime can watch OD without problem but another time always buffering.

2 months?? You should report this to Astro ady...
By right, buffering issues like this shouldn't happen, unless it's your own Internet problem (although very unlikely?).

Your TM, is it the Streamyx (copper) or Fibre one?
ADSL, VDSL or FTTH?
*
I make a speedtest on my laptop I can get more than 50Mbps and the internet also stable... the problem is on PVR box.. i have make complain to astro and they change my decorder, but the problem happened again after the installer go. So I give up to report this to astro

If I want use OD I will make sure the programe is downloaded completely If not the video will be buffering a lot.

Im using TM unifi Fiber

You tried reboot your WiFi router and Restore Factory Settings on your PVR box as well, right? Try temporary turn on your mobile hotspot and then connect your PVR box to the WiFi hotspot.
If the speed is still 1.18Mbps, then they're basically they're just a bunch of screw ups.

You can still report to Astro about this, tell them you've changed to a new PVR box and the issue still persists.
Threaten them that you will terminate Astro service for good if this issue still doesn't get solved ASAP.
Just say that only, then their balls will shrink already.

If they still don't take your issue seriously, feel free to report to MCMC here: https://aduan.skmm.gov.my/
It is true... Astro no longer manufacture new PVR boxes since around 2018, and that is where the CS agents will upsell the customers to upgrade to Ultra Box.

By any chance, if one's PVR box is being replaced now, Astro technician will give you the refurbished PVR box instead (modelled as RDMT5, the "R" stands for "Refurbished"), especially after you tell them you don't have Internet access at home (which they shall not allow you to upgrade to Ultra Box since its main features like cloud recording are dependent on Internet).
*
I have try using Maxis and celcom hotspot. The speedtest is around 3.44Mbps only. I have reboot my router and factory reset the PVR box many time but the same problem keep happened. Before this I have report to astro regarding this again but they asked me to change to Ultra Box. Really make me stress

What's the reasons you don't want Ultra Box?

My parents may dont know how to use ultra box. And I really dont want to rely my recording to wifi... it may cause problem for sure and it will be hard my parents to use the recording function...
