Ok I hate Disney+ Hotstar MY version.
The app is bad overall.
No profiles, no Premier Access, no 4K HDR on most contents, no Dolby Atmos, 2 devices limit per stream, limited support on devices like in Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Fire TV devices, messy arrangement of contents, cannot work at all outside of MY even with VPN and the app looks lame overall.
After using Disney+ US for more than a year, I really hate the MY version.
The app have been available in India longer than Disney+, but it seems they did not even bother to improve it to be on par like Disney+ global app.
It feels like a web version being compiled into an app.
And oh I forgot how we have to login using our mobile no.
Like what?

Seriously Disney is treating us like 2nd class citizen.
We should get the better app but we get the subpar app.
Disney should have proceeded by launching Disney+ and Hotstar separately.
Not combining it and just be done with it.

And below, Disney+ US app is WAY AHEAD than the trash D+H MY app.

Looks that I'm wrong this time. Seems like Astro's servers also suffers the same fate like what many of us experienced during the registration of AZ vaccine. 😓😓😓

Pity the real subscribers though.

Anyway, it is still good for average users. So for RM 5, no complaint... If it is as costly as my Netflix UHD subscription, then I will rage.

That is why I felt disappointed.
I never thought D+H is as bad as everyone have been saying previously.
It is night and day between D+ and D+H app.
I do hope they read this complaint and also my rant on Twitter.
Plus we are paying more expensive than Indonesia so I expect a good app overall.
When you said about picture quality, I also notice it.
It is a bit of a downgrade compared to D+ US.

For SmartDNS, Getflix have been stable so far for me.
My streaming device is my Android Sony 4K TV, Xbox Series S, Mi TV Stick, LG 4K TV, Sharp 4K TV.
Have been streaming Hulu, Paramount+, HBO Max, Disney+ with Getflix, no issues.

Another RM5 hike?

Anyway, joshhd it seems Astro will show some EURO and Olympics shows in 4K HDR(HLG format) and Dolby Atmos.
Maybe later can check the transponder bitrate?

Oh well.
It will be Hotstar's loss.
I will still continue paying for my D+ AU to get the best experience on my Sharp and Sony Android TV, LG webOS TV and my Xbox Series S console.
Maybe my money will not go into Disney MY pocket but Disney AU pocket.

Sooner or later, people will realise we are getting a subpar app.
Even in the Disney+ related posts, I already saw complaints regarding this D+H app.
But of course they are ignoring it.

And with more confirmed streaming services coming soon to MY like HBO Max and Paramount+, they better improve the app.

i somehow managed to get it work prevoiusly. Since late last year, i've been enjoying recording tv shows on external hdd....

You managed to do that since late last year...?? Aiyooo why now only you appear...    I've been wanting to use external hard disk / local PVR mode on my Ultra Box since forever
Teach me plzzz.... How did you get it work? What hard disk you use? What is the file system? How's the overall performance?

Seriously speaking, I still prefer using hard disk for recording and time shift function because of its responsiveness and reliability.

Long long time ago, I did tried to connect my external hard disk to the Ultra Box, and it says something like "Not authorised" at the HDD Status at STB Diagnostics page.
And there's no option for me to format the hard disk right from my Ultra Box also. Since then, I stopped trying already...
