If I am a software tech person, I would be very hesitate to publicly announce this function.
Reason because, there's still many bugs and instability issues, although it is usable to some extent at certain times and situations.
But as a consumer point of view, compared to the PVR box, this is considered as "better than nothing", but not as a form of replacement.

Do continue to observe and use that function from time to time.
From time to time, you may notice the video quality keep fluctuate from poor to original HD quality (as a result of adaptive bitrate streaming), but it is believed that it is due to some congestion issues on Astro streaming CDN servers side, not your Internet or WiFi problem.

And nope, cloud PVR (pause or cloud recording) isn't available on Astro UHD channels for now.

Upgrade box? 2 years contract?
If you wanna access to Disney+ and other OTT services right from your Astro box (in the future, not now yet), you'll likely need either Ulti Box or Ultra Box. And bingo, 2 years contract is being slapped to your face. 
Still using HD box and PVR box? Don't want to upgrade box? Mmm then too bad for you la. 🙂

Heavy raining no satellite signal?
Still using the Astro satellite dish? Then rain fade issue will always be there, ever. It won't be "gone".
Solution: Stop using Astro satellite dish to watch Astro channels. Upgrade to Astro IPTV instead (subject to technical limitations, coverage and FTTH/VDSL port availability in your area/building).
Because Astro IPTV means bundling Astro TV and Internet in one Astro bill, so technically yes, the "total" monthly fees would look more than it is.
Meanwhile "Live Pause" feature (press "pause" button on Ulti / Ultra Box so that the channel loads via Internet instead of satellite is more like a "better than nothing" workaround, not a solution.

Too many programme repeats? Need to follow the channel's programme's timing schedules (we pay for Astro, yet we need to follow their schedule timings), and so on... ?
Solution: Give up watching linear TV channels. Linear TV channels is not for you any longer.
If you have fast Internet access, just stream and choose your favourite shows on Video On Demand (VOD) or Astro Go app. There got much more choice for you to choose.

Feel like whatever you're paying for Astro now is expensive?

And then decide to change or downgrade to whatever package bundles that suits your budget and viewing preferences.
If there's nothing else that Astro can satisfy you in terms of its service, then can consider terminate Astro for good. You know where to find entertainment that suits you somewhere else.

That is the issue with HBO Go.
It is kinda boring overall.
HBO Max in the US feels more complete.
Plus day one movies, same day release as in the cinema.
4K Dolby Vision and Atmos.

TL;DR: These channels will shut down at October. Channels that will shut down on Astro at October including Fox Sports (815), Fox Sports 2 (816), Fox Sports 3 (817), Nat Geo People (710), FOXlife (703), FOX (704), FX (713), FOX Movies (413), FOX Family Movies (414) and FOX Action Movies (415). Channels that will not shut down on Astro are Star Chinese Channel (315), Nat Geo (551) and Nat Geo Wild (550).
