Oh my God, more elsewhere in Canada, four WildBrain television channels (3 English, 1 French) are will be closing due to carriage disputes with Canadian cable services like Bell and Rogers. This is why linear services will be never been seen in the next 10 years, streaming services are reaching the top of the mountain.

Astro’s QR code is now constantly shown on all four HBO channels for HBO Max activation.

That QR code on bottom left corner is always-on-screen, kinda annoying.
And, for them to do that gives me the impression that not many eligible Astro customers (e.g. Movies Pack) activates their HBO Max app entitlement. 

The old R red button is better than that unremovable QR code

Anyone recently received call from astro marketing side?
Last year I just change to Primary Pack which is RM59.99 (RM 64.80 include tax)
He say now they had change. Soon there will be no Primary Pack anymore.
Now he want to give me to some package which suppose is RM79++ something and now offer me RM72++ (include tax).
I told him I want to maintain my current package and he say this no longer exist. I tell him then what is the "basic" cheapest package? He still say something like the offer that he give me is the one that replace my package. If I take now I got this offer, later I have to paid more for this package.

So strange one. I feel that he trying to trick me to "upgrade" package.
I just go website to check, now astro one entertainment pack just RM49.99. This is should be the basic and even cheaper than my current price. I say I want to maintain basic package, he still say no more. I remember even they no longer have that package, they will still maintain all the channel that I get in current package and maintain same price for me. Just for new comer will not get that package only.

Anyone received that kind of call?

That's bulls**t. Typical tactic by marketing people to create urgency with the goal of earning your commision and reaching their KPI. 
I'm pretty sure even those decades old Family pack (RM39.99) customers still exists today, hence what that agent told you that "Primary Pack will soon be no more" is simply fake news.

Astro no longer offers Primary Pack for new takeups (you could say it's discontinued). Astro introduced 3 new packs under the Astro One packs on Dec 2024:
- Astro One: Entertainment Pack (RM49.99)
- Astro One: Sports Pack (RM99.99)
- Astro One: Epic Pack (RM199.99)

Despite with the new Astro One packs, existing customers will continue to enjoy their existing pack as-is, unless they manually switch to the new Astro One packs in the future.
Seems to me that Astro assumes that typical customers won't go and do research on today's Astro pack offerings from time to time (which in reality, quite true), hence they can use this leverage to trick convince unknowing customers.

The agent's goal is to upsell you. Put aside those "rebates" and whatnot, they just want your total Astro subscription to be higher than what you're paying today.
But just curious, what did the agent offer to you till it reaches "RM79++"?

In terms of what are the channels you can watch, the answer is no difference at all. Both packs is pretty much same thing.

Correct. The moment you subscribe to Astro One: Entertainment Pack, you will get a new 24 months contract.
If you're still using older Astro box models like HD or PVR Box, you'll be entitled to swap to the Ulti Box as well.

CGTN Documentary launches on Astro Ch 556 tomorrow, October 1. Free viewing all month long, then RM14.99/mth for News & Documentary add-on.

Consequently, Global Trekker Ch 551 will end its broadcast at midnight on October 15.

Also applicable to NJOI Kids & Knowledge Pack and sooka Live TV. No free viewing for NJOI customers.
