Astro Ceria to introduce all-new kids block from Kartoon Channel! starting August 2023, in collaboration with Kartoon Studios.

The daily Kartoon Channel!-branded block features gaming-focused titles such as Sally Plays Roblox, Sunny Bunnies, SuperMario Brothers 3, Tankee Minecraft Map, Raving Rabbids, Stan Lee's Mighty 7, and Angry Birds.

On top of that, Astro Ceria will also premiere a Malaysian adaptation of the elimination-style reality gaming series, Kidaverse Roblox Rumble Malaysian Edition.

Same fate as Wah Lai Toi I guess, Shuang Xing would be transitioned as an On Demand channel, or simply ceased altogether.

Just switched my NJOI one-time subscription to Astro's Primary Pack monthly subscription yesterday. Thanks to its promo ad on Ch 100 (NJOI version).

Contacted NJOI Selfcare agent on WhatsApp to find out more about the promo. Then I opt-in for the no-contract option. Promo price of RM42.39 (incl. 6% SST) monthly for the first 24 months, then RM79.49/month afterward. Within 3 hours of activation, voila, I'm an Astro customer now.

Still using the same NJOI Box & Smartcard, just the channel line-up now within Astro Primary Pack. It's Astro's in-house local programming that intrigues me & my family to switch.

I don't mind the STB lacks internet to access On Demand and HDD to record, just pure live TV and on-the-go viewing via Astro GO. I try not to upgrade the STB to Ulti Box, as my parents don't need other functionalities there, it's quite cluttering and fussing for them. Besides, I already have Chromecast with Google TV to access streaming apps.

From what I understand from sooka TV’s description, I assume that in order to stream beIN Sports Rugby channel & kids’ shows on other devices besides smart TV, you need a sooka TV subscription first.

While you can download BBC Player on Android TV/Google TV’s Play Store, only Unifi TV subscribers can stream it for now.



In the meantime, you can stream BBC Player using Astro ID on website & mobile devices. You will be prompted to this screen when first sign-in.

I know, it’s been sh*t since forever, way before Astro joins in. This app’s so lagging with so many bugs still unfixed.

Update: Both Astro & Unifi are having system maintenance today. Unifi TV users are also having issues when signing in.

Astro Premier will be the new home of Astro Originals. Ch 410 will commence broadcast tomorrow (Sept 18, 2023) at 6:00 am onwards. Free preview through Feb 1, 2024.

This is most likely due to the Astro Originals brand itself. Future titles under Astro Originals will be aired exclusively on this channel.

Riot! is a new Astro Original series, premiering Friday Sept 22, 9:00 pm. Its On Demand summary is already up and running.



I believe this isn't a pop-up channel, as this is the default template for new channels that Astro's bringing in, like the screenshot below.

I was expecting HITS NOW or ROCK Entertainment or both for the latest US & UK content. AXN wasn’t enough.

Astro Arena on sooka reverts to FREE live channel, possibly due to the live coverage of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 that starts tonight with Opening Ceremony. So that all Malaysians can access the channel (also OKEY) for free without signing up to sooka.





All 6 Asian Games channels are now open to Astro Sports Pack & NJOI Sports Mega Pack customers, including 3 channels (Ch 788–790) that started broadcasting today.

Non-sports subscribers can watch it free on OKEY (Ch 146) & Astro Arena (Ch 801).

Before this got NJOI Now; if Astro continues the operation of the app as well, I would love to get NJOI in a heartbeat.

Now NJOI Now's gone, sooka replaced it. Double whammy, I have to pre-pay NJOI Family Pack for RM29.90, plus also need to subscribe to at least sooka Entertainment Plan for another RM15.90 with less GE channels available there.

But at least, Astro Premier's Riot! is now streaming On Demand on sooka, simultaneously with Astro TV subscription.
