My Ultrabox seemed to run fine on satellite feed just now despite the server problems. Just now when I tried to tune channel the box completely shuts. No indicators whatsoever. It happened twice. Anyone else facing this?

I do notice some weird glitches on Vinmeen HD as well as Sun TV. Even the subtitles glitch like if someone erased it using duster.

Guys I know I "might" be late to this, but is there any way to rollback the latest Ultra box update? The channel guide lags as duck. When I try to open Netflix the box just jams (this happens even after a factory restore). Even worse, my mom could not navigate to her fav shows like how we used to teach her. The box sometimes won't even boot and we have to do a power cycle for it to actuality work. 😭 Anyone here can roll us back to Byond PVR 🫢🏽😭

Hey guys, I just noticed that my astro's 'contract' is ending in June. I am still on legacy pack (Namma Pack + Sports + Thangathirai) ... Will my contract reset or will I be upgraded to a new pack randomly? Quite worried now.

My God. I can see where this is going. Their Ultra box has been giving some new issues lately. Can see where this is leading me :') .

I recently saw the ad where they promoted Movies Pack for RM 6X smtg. Intrigues, I went to switch via Astro Online. 3 Disappointing things happened.

1. The price rose back to RM95 when I choose 'switch'. Even worse was when the price indicated was without any Add-ons selected. I added Indian Fav and the grand total was RM110-ish.

2. Apparently Movies Pack customers can only enjoy Ulti Box ..? Idk why Astro pushes Ulti in the first place as it makes no sense to implement 2 boxes for a single service.

3. I was recommended "Entertainment Pack" as a substitute for my Value Pack 2 (Namma Pack) + Sports. It was very lacklustre to see even Thangathirai wasnet even given to us. I mean the name says Box Office but the shows are literally from India's gallery of trash movies. The mini programs such as Cine Sequal (yes, they spell sequel that way) are frozen in 2009 era.

Why cant Astro be nice enough to provide us with a retention package or at very least something we both can agree upon? Their Customer Service line literally hangs up TWICE when contacted. At this point I may just but SUN NXT and Hotstar directly and stream everything there.

Extremely Disappointed with the misleading price cut ad.

Anyone's Ultrabox started to lag so bad ? Mine started to get slow with version 23.2.3.60 SFH1. Sometimes I even get a Sim card error but goes back to normal after a reboot. Can't ask for technician to come bcs legacy pack user and contract free. If ask for replacement confirm ikat Contract.

I understand that I may need to pay RM65 for a technician to visit, but will I be charged if I request an Ultrabox swap since my current Ultrabox is giving issues? And will that tie me with a contract for the box even if its not for my legacy packs?

Also, I've been reading that only SuperPack customers get Ultra. I'm on Value Pack 2 (Namma Pack) + Sports ... Will they take my Ultra away? πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ‘ˆπŸ½

Guys what's the difference between each version? Why is my Ultrabox has SFH version while my neighbors are PFH? Is there some kind of firmware update that I missed? Was that why box is being problematic?

Oh ya hahaha sorry forgot. Mine is Ultrabox running SFH so I guess I should try asking for a replacement. Hopefully they would help me out by changing this Ultrabox to a new one in hopes of solving the freeze and system issues.

Wonder why they don't wanna go Android for this box.

I just got my Ultrabox replaced due to faulty SIM slot and I noticed that the Ultrabox is now missing the MicroSD card slot. The firmware states as PFH2 and I gotta say it feels much snappy compared to my 2021 Ultrabox. LED indicators are quite different too as orange seems to be replaced with a faint yellow LED. Still curious why the SD card slot even existed in the first one.

I don't think they ever allow to be used by customers also, or maybe halfway they've decided to abandon the plans/features that involves microSD slot, hence the slot is gone in Ultra Box v2.

PFH2 is the Ultra Box v2 (You can see the "Ultra Box v2" at the bottom right corner of the Settings page).

I've been using Astro since 2005. Why no one calling me to offer any special packages. Everytime I open Astro app it asks me to switch packs. But when compared on the app I tend to lose some channels if I choose Entertainment Pack. Sports Pack does the same damage too. Why can't they just let us handpick our preferred packs like back then. I tried asking before but was told we can only choose from their pre-set packs. I really dont want to play the 'terminate' game just to scare them and offer me better ones.

Movies Pack - cant match with Sports
Sports Pack - I'll lose ABO Movies TT
Entertainment Pack - unnecessary channels & cant add Sports

All those Platinum Premium packs go beyond my 120 budget. I prefer 120 and lower.

Notice us Astro senpai. Stop entertaining only when we're leaving 😞

EDIT : I'm now on Value Pack 2 + Sports @ RM120~

Because you never call Astro to tell them you want to terminate Astro. That is why you were "never offered any special package".
I'm not joking.

Because from Astro's point of view, they see that NimalKumar is a good customer that has been paying RM120 for Value Pack 2 + Sports.
Assuming that the payment record is good, therefore it is a "stable customer" who is "unlikely to terminate or miss payment" .
Therefore, just leave it as it is. Why bother to suddenly call this customer and offer "special package"? This will only affect the revenue from this customer.
We want revenue of the company to increase, not decrease.

I guess you're right. They see me as a stable customer so they just don't think of rewarding in any form. Yes I do read online about those last minute termination offers people get when they say they gonna leave but it just feels somewhat like arguing for something. Guess ill rot in this package ja 🀧🀧🀧

Okay now I'm concerned about this fluctuating signals in my new Ultra box. Initially the entry point was set at 01 but I changed it manually to 09 as it gave the high reading. But now when I tested the signal while on a 4K channel I'm seeing the reading below.

And then I went to a usual channel (HD) and noticed the signal stays strong but the quality fluctuating from low to high. I just had the box changed and paid for the technician visit. He even helped to cut the cable (terminate the wire??) to be connected to the box. Is this normal.

I'm aware that CNR reading should be higher and the dB should be above 10.0.

Edit : readings during the normal channel was

Signal Strength : 183 to 187 (almost 80 )
Quality fluctuates from Low to High ( 20 then 100 then 20 )
CNR 14.9 - 15.4

Just because you see the signal reading from that transponder is higher now, doesn't mean every other transponder's signal will "suddenly" become strong. That's not how it works ya...

This scenario suggests that your satellite cable connection, especially the F connector section there, is likely not in "proper condition".
Check if the connector is tight enough (not loose) and it is correctly connected on your Ultra Box. You can unplug (unscrew, turn anticlockwise) the satellite cable from your Ultra Box, then connect it back (screw, turn clockwise) to check if it is securely connected.

If possible, check the condition throughout your satellite cable, from your Ultra Box all the way to your satellite dish's LNB. Check if the entire F connector can be easily pulled out.
If you use any sorts of cable splitter/joiner or lightning arrestor in between the satellite cable connection, check the condition of it also.

I just had the box changed and paid for the technician visit. He even helped to cut the cable (terminate the wire??) to be connected to the box. Is this normal.
Some installer will re-terminate the cable (F connector) when they see that the overall condition of the F connector is too loose (easily pulled out). So yeah, you could say it's normal.

If the fluctuating signal quality issue never happens before that technician visit, and it happens after his visit of re-terminating your satellite cable, then call him directly to come to your house again and check.
If he refuse to come back, you can report this to customer service.

I'm aware that CNR reading should be higher and the dB should be above 10.0.
9.4dB mark, is the borderline of getting "no satellite signal".
For me, I can achieve CNR reading of ~20.0dB for Measat 3d transponders (10982 until 11392), which is considered excellent signal reading already.
To achieve that, satellite dish alignment and LNB skew must be perfect (not "cincai adjust, as long got signal, then ok").
And, that's also subject to your satellite cable length and condition too.

Do note that Astro's 4K UHD channel is currently transmit from Measat 3b satellite, so it is expected that the signal reading would appear few dB lower than Measat 3d satellite.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was thinking by changing the transponder to 09 would give me better experience as 01 only gives me 'Medium' strength for the Signal. The technician did the termination and tightened with tape so I think its fine down here. I think the connection to the dish would be the cause. The cable did go through several flood incidents and I believe that may be a cause for the degradation too. For now I'm not experiencing and disturbance in the reception so I think I'd just let it be (at this point I don't wanna pay more to replace any wires).
