Turning off 4G in weak areas will improve battery life tremendously. My phone fully charged at 8 am with lots of FB and whatsapp, it is showing 74% at 2:20 pm. Using Wifi and 3G as backup.

QUOTE(alister88 @ Apr 23 2018, 07:17 PM) I unplugged my phone from my charger this morning at 6am and it dropped to 86% at around 9am. (with AOD and some other stuffs on like normal) Uhhhh... fb... the biggest drag on battery life. Then I disabled some of the settings, AOD off and put it MID Power saver around 10am until now, I'm left with 49%. Didnt play much with the tho... got FB, WA and Insta but not so often... Comparing with my 6s+, usually when Im in office and around this hour(7ish), my phone would have about 60%-70%(when I didnt touch the phone). But skali when I start using my phone, the batt will drain pretty fast.. Consider ok? |

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Apr 23 2018, 03:27 PM) Well, I thought the processor was more efficient and I’d be able to squeeze more juice out of the battery on Android O. But alas, that was not to be QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Apr 23 2018, 04:08 PM) You change phone every other day of course la. For me, its a significant improvement over S7E in every single way. Not every other day la, bro. Every other month. Ha ha. I’m a serial mobile phone changer - but I hold on to my trusty and boring iPhones |

QUOTE(alister88 @ Apr 23 2018, 07:17 PM) I unplugged my phone from my charger this morning at 6am and it dropped to 86% at around 9am. (with AOD and some other stuffs on like normal) It’s hard to say, your 6S Plus battery could have some wear and tear especially if it’s more than a year old. Anyway, when I was using the S9+, I would unplug my charger at 100% at about 10.30 or 11.00pm, turn off mobile data and switch on Max Power Saving, which will get me up to about 6am the next day with about 98% battery remaining (if I don’t turn off mobile data and put it to max power saving mode, I’d get about 93% on the next day, which is still fairly acceptable). By 7pm or so, after about 20-odd hours of standby and 3 hours or so of SOT, I’d have about 40% battery life remaining. As a comparison I would have additional 10-15% on my previous S8+, but the overall experience on the S9+ is far more polished. I’ve been getting a number of PMs today asking me if the S9+ is a bad phone, considering I sold it off in less than two weeks of owning it (and just slightly over a week of using it). It’s not. On the contrary, it’s a very good phone. It’s what the S8+ should have been. I’ll be honest though, I find it hard to recommend it (especially at RRP) over a Note 8 which is pretty good value for 2.7-2.8k in the used market. Oh, and I just like to try phones. It’s a bad habit. This post has been edited by attw: Apr 23 2018, 10:10 PM |

But so long still can serve me through the day, I guess it's fine with me.. just that pretty disappointed with Samsung Pay, where non of my cards are supported. my Maybank Debit card is Mastercard whereas my Credit Card is UOB Visa. None can use... and yes, trying out phones is a bad habit! Back in the days before smartphone(my schooling days), I used to change phone yearly... |

QUOTE(chow1942 @ Apr 23 2018, 05:53 PM) I'm using the dual sim + sd card hack in my S9+ 128GB...So far working fine just like my previous S7E... Only thing is that my 64GB memory card is almost full, and I think need to get 128GB one for future proof~ |

QUOTE(batman1172 @ Apr 23 2018, 05:15 PM) Coming from s8+ user... it's not worth to upgrade unless you're looking for louder speaker volume.. slightly faster experience and slightly better camera (tbh, sometimes I feel s8 can handle better image processing) but poorer battery usage.. I am still trying to find the best phone for myself.. having to switch from s8 to note 8 (too big and heavy) then to huawei mate 10... (less than few days) then back to s8 plus and now s9 plus... what can I say.... I'm poisoned by Samsung UI user experience .. it's a love hate relationship but I m so used to the edge panel.... flatter and professional icons, AOD and Samsung pay.... Huawei emui.. just... meh.. but battery is insane!! |

Yeah, agree on all counts. Samsung's UI is far more polished than EMUI, but the downside is it consumes quite a bit more juice I am still trying to find the best phone for myself.. having to switch from s8 to note 8 (too big and heavy) then to huawei mate 10... You can change your maybank debit MasterCard to visa for free but instead you complaint not supported. Back then there many choice to choose from these days phone progress is starting to stagnant like hua wei p20 pro even their marketed camera does not impress the world beside that every phone in the market are quite close in features |
