Geely Boyue PRO with the revised exterior and interior. So far only the outside has some clear shots but the interior is very different from the outgoing X70 based on spy photos.

Available engines are either 1.8T+6AT or a 1.5T+7DCT. Equipment and specs are unknown yet but it's expected to be improved over the existing one. Launch is reported to be Q2 this year in China.

Front looks much better on this new version imo. Very Mazda CX-5 vibes from the grille/headlights. This could end up being the X70 facelift if the agreement of the NL-3 platform extends to this new one as well.

Hi guys. Wanna ask for advise.

I already booked x70 premium, my bank loan is approved, and the SA said the car can be delivered on the second week of April.

But the SA forces me to pay full downpayment first to get the chassis number etc. I said i will pay all before i take the car, or a day before i take the car. But he keeps insisting me to pay now n sign bank agreement now to secure the chassis number for my car.

Is it really a normal practice like this? Because last time when i bought a car, i paid the d/p on the same day i take the car or at least a day before. Can anyone please advise?

Hi X70 owners, does Android Auto work with this car? Can it load Waze using Android Auto?

I went to see the car the other day, the SA told me it can load Waze by Android Auto. But afterward I read the car review and not even one say Waze nor Android Auto can be run, but all is Oct/Nov review so I don't know if now Proton have updated the software.

If it can't, how about using screen mirroring function to show Waze? Or it's too laggy to be usable?

As far I know yet support android auto.
But proton say future will support, and also no confirm date.

That's a big turn off. If Geely want to force people using their built in map, likely will never see Android Auto.

I yet own the car as I waiting X70 1.5t or X50.
On test drive I make I didt test waze, the infotainment system not the fastest but also not the slowest, it still responsive then current Subaru forester infotament(press and swap)

Find another SA or dealership. This guy knows nothing, cakap shiok to what you ask to get sales.

No Android Auto. No build in Waze or Google Maps. Can't sideload ANY apps into the headunit. Geely/Proton has locked that headunit tight (you can't even load your photo to be wallpaper).

Screen mirroring using EasyConnection App. Can mirror your android phone Waze/Google Maps & Spotify (yet to use). Need to switch on Bluetooth for sound transfer (lest sound comes out from phone only).

Personally, I have tried Google Maps with EasyConnection but find it difficult to pair initially (took a few tries before it can pair) & worse of all, it's difficult to put the phone securely in landscape mode in centre console.

Ended up buying a phone holder for using Google Maps (see below) without screen mirroring.

As I suspected no Android Auto. Some more in China cannot use Google apps so I don't think Geely will every support it.

lol screen mirroring can't transfer sound together? What a let down. But the SA show me when in screen mirroring can record voice in WhatsApp, don't know if it record from car mic or phone mic.

Can the car wifi become hotspot? Is the 1GB data is enough for your usage in one month?

Sorry bombard you with many questions, just that seem not much people talking about this car navigation system.

I have few more questions.

If use Baidu maps can it show turn to which junction on the speedometer screen? Like Civic. Is the map updated like Waze/G maps where almost all shop/restaurant can be found?

Just to remind again that I dont own X70, that was my sister car.

Regarding the radio, they actually have an apps to mirror link your phone, called "EasyConnection".
I try it before, apps looks ok but cannot connect with the radio, I try it alot of way to fix it but still not working.
So still end up using phone for navigation. My style on driving is get a 2nd hand phone and just use for Waze with a telco card to work with lah.

Feedback about the radio a bit for sharing,

1. X70 radio is not so useful for the apps they comes with,
like the navigation/maps that use baidu. Since i'm wazer of course i'm curious on google Map navigation, actually Waze and Google Map navigation in Malaysia is the best because majority are using it, so that both of this company can get the real time information about the traffic info. Unlike baidu, just come in Malaysia and less user using it, they dont get accurate traffic information and they do not have update re-route map(eg traffic shut down on Jalan Tun Razak, KL, waze will route you to other direction).

2. 360 Car Cam, this is useful if your car is equip with, the thing is sometime you need it, it wont auto launch on the radio, SOMETIMES lah. But it still works well for automatic launch while driving.

3. There is the aircon apps, i dont rmb what it can do it, but actually will show the status of the aircon control lah, it should able to control the air-con on the radio as well, but you already have physical button d wo . That's why the "Hi Proton" can control the aircon.

4. They have a "Music" apps, that can play your USB, bluetooth, of course, and search song from their database. I suggest that you better not use the music apps to search for their free song, you can end up finish the 1GB data fast. USB download song and listen is the best or Bluetooth Spotify song pun , my sister use bluetooth Spotify for default.

5. You have a themes apps to change the interface lah, no this very boring kan

6. Weather apps is extra bonus lah, i encounter before the gps+ internet not strong enough, cannot get my exact location for the weather forecast.

7. There is a membership apps, you can login into it and do nothing But i assume once u register the ProtonLink(of course is on your smartphone) with your X70 or future car that comes with the features, you can really track where your car is going, what time the car is moving, from where to where (by baidu Maps), your car fuel tank level. What i cannot use is the remote control provided at the apps (lock, beep, unlock car boot trunk), even try it at my home with wifi connect for both car and smartphone is not working as well, doesn't matter is not important anyway, hopefully they can improve this features lah. Car Rental company like Socar and Gocar can do this also, I assume they can fix this.

8. Gallery apps, you wont use it, one day maybe in a rush you need to showoff your picture in USB, i think is useful for tht.

9. Video, I think most of the video you download from internet is playable from the radio by USB, but once u engage gear and drive, the video will stop. At the end, useless also, one day maybe in a rush you need to showoff your sexy video in USB,

10. I dont rmb the radio comes with internet browser or not. I rather use my smartphone for this

11. ahh yes, there is a cleaner button to boost the radio performance.

Well one day I send to X70 Proton Service Center and raise the issue regarding GPS Navi will hantar me masuk longkang, and I talk about the map is from baidu is not well navigate, why dont ask them change google map (Waze is impossible to attach with official Android OS). But I know they will do nothing for it, so save yourself better than hoping them to feedback to HQ and wait for respond.

Conclusion,
On the first month driving the car, keep playing with "Hi Proton".
After a month, only show "Hi Proton" to those people who looking on the car[aka show off to fren], normally bluetooth connect and spotify.
Dont take it too serious on the X70 Radio apps, can't feel disappointing on the radio becuz of the 360 camera and bluetooth support. Otherwise the rest of the thing is pretty useless.

The bold part, you say can't connect the "radio", you mean the sound? Sound still on the phone like what Lanchio said? Or you mean your phone can't connect to the HU/radio for screen mirroring?

This is why I can only use Waze, real time traffic info and re-route with accurate ETA. Beside Baidu maps only in X70 and if all owner using it it's still only 10K people vs Waze/G Maps that have millions of user in Malaysia.

Music unlikely I need to use their online, with all music in my phone is already enough.

Those air-cond, weather, gallery and video apps don't think will use it. My car air cond never adjust anything for whole year except the blower speed. Malaysia weather easily predictable just see the sky. All this while i don't bother see video or photo while driving, so nope.

Hi Proton I also feel just gimmick, if want to change blower speed or open windows it will be mush faster to just reach for the button. By the way the windows button Auto UP & DOWN only on driver side or both front or all 4 windows?

Should follow what u SA told u if u want ur car. But i made payment after i got the chasis number. Ur previous experience is there is ready stock car behind their garage. Ur x70 is still at the port or tanjung malim awaiting u. 😂
