The CRV 1.5 T is my vote.
My opinion. The CX-5 loses out on space but its a better drive. The Xtrail is practicle as its huge. The 2.5 is powerfull and now got super discount, really poisonous. The CRV sits in between. Dont forget to just go try these other vehicles. Renault Koleos Hyundai Tuscon Kia Sportage NOTE : The CX 5 has a Diesel in Malaysia. Mileage must be awesome... QUOTE(jschong1980 @ Apr 7 2018, 09:41 PM) X-Trail only 2 airbag = cannot acceptCX-5 very nice, but the top 2 spec model is DIESEL. Also the GPS is not as functional as CRV. CRV, perform its function (as an SUV) very well, support android Auto (i like it), no auto folding side mirror, no active noise cancelling for the cabin (overseas model has it), no handsfree boot door opening system (overseas has), no seat memory function (overseas has). |

QUOTE(jschong1980 @ Apr 9 2018, 10:54 AM) I am only considering 2.0L models between CR-V, CX-5 and X-Trail. What would be your recommendation? I have not heard any major QC issues from the CRV. Takata airbag, well even now Toyota is having a recall. However do take note that the CRV 1.5T is selling better than the 2.0. So which means later on second hand value also will be better for the 1.5T. Does 2.0L CR-V manufactured in 2018 have QC issues? The base 1.5T also has slightly better trim. Looks like you are playing the 140K range. The 1.5 T is 155K. The new Xtrail red ( i think its 144K ) is a very tempting offer. But its red. Hope its not like the Mazda red whereby you cant repaint it back. The Mazda red is so special that you cant get back the same red as factory. |

Got the 2018 2.0 CRV for 140k since January for the specs, SPACE, comfort and reliability.
No major issues so far except the occasionally rattle here and there. FC is not great and avg about 10KM/L for city and highway but adequate power for family use. Front looks good and back looks are subjective... CX5 2.0 GL has poor specs - and no LED lights and no leather seats which is a must for me. Handles better than the CRV and looks good. X trail 2.0 - super dated interior and lousy specs with 2 airbags only! Under powered when i tested it. Unless you take the 2.5 but thats another grade altogether... I personally like the Forester 2.0iP also but wife didn't approve lol Just my 2 cents, hope you find what you like soon |

how about exploring the new Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0?
if not enough power can opt for 2.4 version. 7 airbags, 4wd, rock solid, 7 seater, larger boot space, better handling compared with xtrail. |

QUOTE(wrc123 @ Apr 9 2018, 06:25 PM) how about exploring the new Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0? As a 7-seater SUV, it should come at least with rear air-cond vent, or better still with 3rd row a/c vent too like Sorento, etc.if not enough power can opt for 2.4 version. 7 airbags, 4wd, rock solid, 7 seater, larger boot space, better handling compared with xtrail. But it only has front a/c vents and the 2.0 is under powered. Did not try the 2.4 version though. The interior is very dated too. Seems like I’m stepping in to my previous Lancer GT from 2008. |
