I'm considering between 2.0L CR-V, 2.0GL CX-5 and 2.0L X-Trail. Which is a better SUV?

The X-trail gets my vote because it is a 7-seater and it is the cheapest. thumbsup.gif
It is like an Suv+Mpv 2in1 combo package laugh.gif

Between the CR-V and the CX-5, the CX-5 seems superior in almost every aspect.
Honda is plagued with quality issues and killer airbags. sad.gif

I would choose X-trail too. It seem much practical than CRV and CX-5.

CR-V and CX-5 would be just the aesthetic purpose rather than practical...

Have you test drive all 3 (or 4)? I have and for me the Xtrail 2.0 seems under powered. The engine sounds quite loud and yet no pickup.

Actually CR-V is more practical than X-trail. It has larger rear opening to store or retrieve large items.

The only pros for X-trail is the extra 2 seats for midgets/children & it is cheaper now.

CX-5 wins in terms of refinement however lacks of space.

C-RV is an all-rounder if not plague by QC issues

I agree. The only thing forester lacks is boot space.

The World first X2, not really expensive actually but it beats all of the above in branding & handling.

Never tried the CX-5.

I'd go with the CRV simply because it has a Turbo engine, LED lights and fairly nice interior (except the gear lever).

Speaking from an owner's perspective, I really like the X-Trail (2.0L version). It's not fast off the line, but as far as I can tell it's mostly because Nissan programmed it to be as smooth as possible. Cornering wise it is also pretty stable and fun. It struggles slightly going up hills but otherwise power is adequate. You're not supposed to speed in an SUV anyway given its high CG.

Edit: The X-trail's engine is much quieter than the CRV's. I'm not referring to the turbo whistle.

I have tested all 3 cars but Honda only have the 1.5 turbo for test drive so I can't really compared them. During X-Trial test drive, I did noticed a little slow in response/pickup during acceleration but I thought it it could be due to my driving style.

How long have you have you car? Can you share more on your X-Trial experience on
(1) handling
(2) workmanship
(3) comfort
(4) maintenance
(5) comfort
(6) after sales service
(7) reliability
(8) NVH

price is secondary to me.

Does CR-V manufactured in 2018 share the same QC issues?

This is serious. Does this happen to those manufactured in 2018 too?

Killer airbags ? You means TAKATA airbags ? Not only Honda use this. For quality issues is varies but do we want to compare Honda with Volvo/Mercedes ? biggrin.gif
