N82

user posted image

Package comes with:

* Nokia N82
* Nokia Battery BP-6MT
* Nokia Travel Charger AC-5
* Nokia Music Headset HS-43
* Nokia Connectivity Cable CA-101
* Nokia Video Connectivity Cable CA-75U
* Nokia 2GB microSD Card

Here come my comments: smile.gif

1) The speed (startup and loading) is fast. Much more faster than N95 (even N95 8GB)

2) GPS is cool, can use for free. I tried from Puchong to Kota Kemuning, then from Shah Alam back to PD. Its really cool, but I dunno how to use the voice navigation sweat.gif

3) N-Gage function is another cool stuff. The attached n-gage game run smoothly, with nice graphic, no lag

4) Music, as said by Victor is loud and clear

5) Buttons are seem hard to press but not really as the buttons are a bit sensitive compare to other phone..But its a bit hard to press keys like 3,6,9 and # when using one hand.

6) Battery life considered ok for normal use. I charge the night before yesterday, use GPS, browse net, listen song, play around with the game, and now still has 1 bar. But the "Battery Low" alarm has start triggered. If you are heavy user then recommend to get another spare.

7) Auto rotation is another cool stuff by N82, where it auto rotate when turn it 90 Degree. But sometime is a bit disturbing, especially when u lie on bed (where i always do so) and the display get rotated laugh.gif

8) Multimedia button (Not sure what the button call), where it shows what you have done previously (What photo last taken, what music last listening..etc)

9) Solid and steelish body. It look classy and cool.

What I dislike:

1) When press the "Hang call button", it will exit the message and not even save the typed message in draft folder.. doh.gif It should put the messaging program in the background and not close it.

2) No PEN-key, where it act as shortcut for cut and copy (where I use it so much peviously)

3) Fingerprint collector, where so easy to get my fingerprint on the button (The menu button as its not covered by a layer) Upper part, keypad, and back are covered with a layer to prevent fingerprint but not the middle part.

Overall I will give 9.5 out of 10 for the precious N82. Its really a good choice for buyers who having N95 budget and not prefer slide phone..

just played with N82..side by side with N95 8gb

first impression :

- light
- a bit platicky
- buttons has good tactile feedback
- sound wise..N95 8gb is louder ( interesting part is the speakers are both on the RIGHT side of the phone, so when u are holding the phone, most probably u will be covering the lower speaker. BUt its good to watch video in landscape mode..
- of course..its slimmer than N95 8gb..
- love the auto rotate function

Luckily after testing it..i dont really like it..so still struggling between n81 n n95 8gb. hmm.gif

* one thing i wanna complain bout Nokia camera is that..when the photo is FOCUSED..it doesnt have any sound to indicate ( like SE has a "tit tit" sound) user, so when u taking self portrait..u donno whether its focus or not.. wink.gif

Saw it at 1U selling for RM 2,499 a few days ago. Still expensive in my opinion, seeing Singapore is selling a few hundred bucks cheaper.

Or maybe it can be turned of somewhere in camera setting...?

WiFi G is more than enough already just for internet (Streamyx home user package is max 4MBits but WiFi G is 54MBits)...

However, when doing networking between PCs that's different story. wink.gif

Yup, can't imagine if Nokia didn't put this...

However, just rarely it'll keep quiet one. Don't know why, sometimes it'll just silent when focused, but just happened rarely, though. smile.gif

i though u havent buy since no pictures or reviews from you brows.gif
about the end key, it will close most of the program incl messaging. on old S60, it will make it running in the background. i also have problem adjusting to the new "behaviour" sweat.gif

@rayzrblade
in dilemma? n95-2 or n82? brows.gif it's up to your preference. slider with 8GB or candybar with xenon. other spec are identical.

for the focus lock sound, it supposed to have that sound. probably bugs with the display unit.

for the edit key, i prefer the idea of combined it with the # key. current S60 phone have a lot of keys sweat.gif

haha...this are my dislike abt the phone...
1. The phone cannot stand...
2. I miss the PTT key jz like those old nokia 6680 (The PacMan button)
3. Auto-Rotate only can work for one orientation unlike Iphone which can work for both orientation.
4. The side up and down volume button dun have track changing functions jz like SE if u push it down it can change song...

PS: but it's still a very good candybar phone
The PEN key is now the #key, it's better in my opinion..
