for those who have issue with chromecast after the upgrade on their DIR-850L router - i had to do this (there maybe other ways, but this one seems to work for me):

1) Create a new guest account (dlink-guest-xxxx or rename it). Disable the internet only access
2) Configure chromecast to connect to that guest account.
3) Other devices like your desktop PC, laptop,tablets/smartphone - connect to your regular (non-guest SSID). You can cast to the chromecast normally now.

Hope that helps someone after troubleshooting for a whole night and several minutes in the early morning.

Hi, how is the range of this wifi adapter?

I've been using Unifi 50mbps (upgraded from 30mbps) due to Thank You Suprise campaign for 2 years. I asked TM to downgrade back to 30mbps so I can pay cheaper that is RM139 monthly. I realized there is an Unifi TV Residential package that add RM30 to my bill. Can I ask TM to remove it from my bill so I only pay RM109 monthly?

hmm so does that means those with higher subscription like 1Gbps ( in SG ) , if they use 2.4GHz, they also have limited speed at 50Mbps ?

the problem for me is my laptop doesn't support 5GHz, it can achieve around 40Mbps for 2.4GHz which is kinda slow and LAN connection get 95Mbps only (using Cat5E), that means I need to have a 5GHz wifi adapter in order to enjoy 100Mbps full speed.

1more question here, do you know why does my internet speed doesn't get over 95Mbps on LAN ?  As I said, I'm using Cat5E Lan cable, or should I get a Cat6 LAN cable ? Thanks

Useless higher speed as current 100mbps is much more enough. Unless they provide the good router. 2.4Ghz wont get full speed unless 5Ghz. But not much gadget supported 5Ghz.

No point to double the speed again.

BTW for those who wanted an internet only plan - SoyaCincau reports that the RM99 UniFi 30 plan will be Internet-only, but you may need to purchase your own router for that

if you upgrade to 100Mbps. TM should have change your router. coz earlier batch they use 100 Megabit ports

ok. tm tech came my house.

changed new hypptv box (1st gen, EC2108E) to the small white box (Huawei EC6108V8).

try to change vdsl model with the new ZTE-H267A modem.. but half failed to bridge with my tp-link router (TL-WR841N), internet OK but Hypptv failed.

now still using (5years old) huawei (HG-655a) modem with my tp-link router. tech will come back later.

now, should i kept using my tp-link router (should be better wifi range with antenna).. or use the all in 1 (ZTE-H267A modem, router, wifi) ? 

currently using old Dlink orange router with 30mbps. if bumped up to more than 30 to like 100, will TM offer to change for a new router?

alot ppl had mentioned C1200 is a bad router.. other than what you mentioned could you explain more? i'm using it with 100Mbps since day 1 unifi gave it to me.. random reboot so far no encounter ( mayb it happen during midnight while im asleep).. starting is freak slow.. but we usually leave it on for 24/7 right?

Im staying in single storey house and i could get 100mbps/50mbps download and upload speed pair with tplink t6e card.. my phone aso could get to such speed..

my colleague been poisoning me to change to asus ac68u.. but i couldnt convince myself.. afterall i felt C1200 not that bad...

But signal range is kinda weak. For e.g., the router is just separated by bedroom wall+wardrobe cabinet, but I got weak signal 2.4GHz (5GHz totally cannot) on my bed

u expect tm to give u good router? I straight buy my own router after the tm guys left my house.

I told TM contractors not to install for me, I will continue using mine. They are more than happy to do this.
