Guys, how much do you pay for 30Mbps? Just realized the bill is almost RM200 every month even without GST.

169 + 30 for hyppTV which I dont even use.

guys wanna something about 2.4GHz wifi

im having 100Mbps subscription, using Archer C1200 router, and is it possible to get 100Mbps wifi speed on 2.4GHz ? Or is 2.4GHz wifi limited to only 50Mbps ?

hmm so does that means those with higher subscription like 1Gbps ( in SG ) , if they use 2.4GHz, they also have limited speed at 50Mbps ?

the problem for me is my laptop doesn't support 5GHz, it can achieve around 40Mbps for 2.4GHz which is kinda slow and LAN connection get 95Mbps only (using Cat5E), that means I need to have a 5GHz wifi adapter in order to enjoy 100Mbps full speed.

1more question here, do you know why does my internet speed doesn't get over 95Mbps on LAN ?  As I said, I'm using Cat5E Lan cable, or should I get a Cat6 LAN cable ? Thanks

Thanks. Damn, I realized I've been overpaying for God-knows how long at RM169 + RM30 for Hypp. Back in 2015 when they offered the free upgrade to 30Mbps without the price change, wasn't informed about the price drop.

Just got mine changed to RM139, tied with 2-year contract.

Weird. I saw loads of comments that Unifi Advanced indeed did away with the calls. On the bill, I only saw Unifi + Hypp, no Std20.

Even the staff at the counter also asked me if I didn't need the free calls.

Guys, i am currently trying to upgrade my streamyx to Unifi. Have approached few Agents, a few guys told me that port is ful;, then another agent told me that it's not full, but when i check via Unifi coverage website, they show it's full. NOw the problem is the agent doesnt seem understand what i meant by upgrading, i wanted to keep my land line number but he kept on asking me to call up TM and cancel my streamyx account.
tried to asked for maxis, 2 agents told me that port is available. SO my current option is to cancel my streamyx but retain the land line and go for maxis, anyone know if i can port my land line number from TM to maxis?

The new plans are as detailed below:

1. A new affordable entry level unifi package at 30Mbps for targeted B40 segment. Lower income groups can access high-speed broadband through this package at a price point below RM100 (more than 40% lower price from the existing 30Mbps package). Registration for pre-booking starts 15 July 2018 via unifi.com.my.

REMARKS: This technique is almost like last time the Streamyx Jom Jimat Hebat which is available for target low income group users.

2. unifi ‘turbo’ plans offering more than double the current broadband speed. TM will gradually upgrade the speed for all its existing unifi customers at more than double the speed at no extra cost starting 15 August 2018, while new customers subscribing to existing unifi plans before 31 December 2018 will also be upgraded accordingly in 2019.

PROBLEMS: I guess most of the customers will even complain fierce about this double current broadband speed because same upgrade speed but different package pricing.

3. Special package upgrade for pre-unifi (formerly known as Streamyx) customers in unifi areas nationwide. Eligibility status check will be available via unifi.com.my from 15 July 2018.

Note: All above are subject to technical availability in customers’ areas and terms & conditions.

REMARKS: Well~ Don't expect TM will act fast will available for the Unifi coverage  

4. A re-launch of its ‘unlimited’ unifi Mobile postpaid plan, which gives customers unlimited data, calls and messaging. This serves as a convergence offering exclusive to existing broadband customers and will be available at all unifi outlets and unifi.com.my from 15 July 2018.

PROBLEMS: If you are telling unlimited data, call and messaging, then do you cap the speed max 3Mbps?

REMARKS: I guess some of the customers still did not enjoy free upgrade speed up to 100mbps. SO are you sure?

I signed the package RM179 for 30Mbps few years back.

Previously when Najib announced the internet speed thing during one of the budget tabling, TM offered free speed upgrade. My area not qualified due to the building cable. All I got was the free 1 year Jumbo pack for HyppTV.

Then they offered + RM10, free upgrade speed. Not qualified too.

Now the same thing, upgrade speed...and cheaper 30Mbps for B40. I'm not qualified for both again.

Was supposed to go to Quill City to complain, but latest news from my premise management is that Time had assigned a contractor to install the cables, so we might be getting Time broadband some time this year, hopefully. Going to just wait and cancel UniFi once Time is available

BTW for those who wanted an internet only plan - SoyaCincau reports that the RM99 UniFi 30 plan will be Internet-only, but you may need to purchase your own router for that

Wouldn’t it be funny if TM bundle their usual C1200 router with the 10Gbps package.

FTTH can go beyond 1000Mbps (1Gbps). It is just a matter of time for TM to offer something beyond 100Mbps.
but >100Mbps is meaningless to me.

Actual utilised bandwidth is usually max out at 300mbps per household because of server and device limitations (think hdd, wifi, international speed). So tm can make it look as if the plan damn good when they just troll you over with the contention ratio.
In the end they get to collect more $$ from you. Its because he bandwidth not utilised so they 'give' it to you. The most common scenario its actually used is ironically speedtest.net cos it uses a ton of data and bandwidth lol
Everyone will regret in the end, peering to overseas get jammed during peak hours etc, poor routing to overseas, ping spike, packet loss and jitter etc. Not worth it imo. Its already happening in sg, thats why in actual fact the internet isnt as fast as korea and japan there.. the contention ratio for intl traffic will be crazy one

Unifi sux. Bloody scam me. I subscribe 10Gbps RM199. Even though not as cheap as SG, I'm don't mind. BUT now they tell me I need to fork out RM3500 to buy new router to take advantage of the speed which, I remind you, I already pay RM199 every month.

Repeat above for:
PC SFP card upgrade
PC CPU upgrade
PC NVME upgrade
Optical fibre re-cabling
802.11AD wifi AP
802.11AD laptop upgrade
etc...

Then after all that, play Fortnite or browsing Facebook still slow. But at least Lowyat forums will load fast before you even press enter.

if 100Mbps subscribers not getting 25% discount...then it doesn't jive with Gobind's plan of 25% off by end of 2018...or only selected plans ?

I think better not complain too much. Later TM give this. “In lieu of the 25% discount, we are giving you a 33% speed upgrade. Please restart router to enjoy your new 133Mbps speed.”
Then you do Speedtest and only get 106Mbps, TM say best effort 80%. 106-109 is what I’m getting now. So we all back to square 1 while TM mission accomplished.

They can always say, 100mbps original pricing RM329, now becomes RM199, so more than 25% discount.

Anyone who is staying on high rise building (copper cable) managed to upgrade to 50mbps? I was told that for copper cable the max speed it can carry is only 30mbps at most.

might as well allow us users to decide if want to allocate to 20mbps for hypptv or all out on internet

I got the terima kasih rewards more than a year back upgrading my speed from 30 to 50mbps. After a year delay, I called and ask why. They simply said that my apartment does not support speed above 30mbps. So really pointless if this new offer of 300mbps they will be giving unless they go full fibre optic.

Anyway, I now quit unifi and installing TIME. No bullshit promises anymore.

Btw, I understand TM infra is not fully ready, so they not giving 10x upgrade from 100Mbps to 1Gbps, but instead to 800Mbps. Assuming in the near future (or far) that the 1Gbps is ready, will they upgrade those in 800Mbps for free or another RM10/RM20 topup?
