Only gaming update server usually.

Btw http://rhombuscake.me/tm/ i added the unifi spinner.. quite nice
I guess but also depends on their load and capacity.

I assume one of it will be youtube
Youtube don't need more than 100Mbps to watch even 8K videos esp if they are cached by TM.
Usually, when you start a video the speed will spike to generate a buffer and will not peak after that.

Only newly released videos that are not cached seem to be a problem sometimes.

National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan? https://youtu.be/raf2dO2SqjE?t=1h3m13s

But this Socio-Economic Bias is not just limited to TM or Malaysia.

“People who live in rural and remote Australia or in poorer metro suburbs are getting fibre-to-the-node or worse, while newer and wealthier areas get fibre-to-the-premises”

My friend just terminated her account in Menara TM today. laugh.gif
Lucky. Apparently, you need to give 30 days notice to terminate your account from now on...

I do found the policy it's a bit dodgy, 30 days notice before termination
- Account holder needs to pop into nearest TM point.  What if they are on disability and inconvenience
- 1 week notice period for termination is reasonable
Other ISPs have this policy in place as well...

12. Customers who wish to terminate the Fibre home broadband service shall inform StarHub 30-day in advance of termination. A disconnection fee of $32.10 is chargeable for the disconnection of each Fibre home broadband access plan.

27. Unless otherwise provided, both HKBN and the Subscriber may terminate this Agreement by giving 30 days prior written notice to the other.

To stop your BT products (such as phone, broadband, TV, Calling Features), you'll need to give us a minimum 30 days' notice.

I asked via chat at unifi.com.my/chat.

Hmm. Those not happy can copy/paste a termination email and send it to them every month?

Let it lapse, rinse and repeat...

I can assure to you all TP-LINK product proof to be a nightmare be it Wi-Fi and LAN. Intermittent connectivity.
I liaise with their software engineering, they even release dedicated firmware for me to patch the bugs and ended up they give up ask me return the unit for a newer version
Bear in mind, all router provided by TM is so called entry level. Disaster product.

Tested
- TPLink AC1200 (newer version with 5min boot up time)
- TPLink C5 (guest bandwidth issue and hardware issue)
- D-LINK850

All cannot handle high traffic and users
I'm happy with my ASUS-RT86U & Ubiquiti. So far no complaint in the house.

Thank you for your assurances that ALL TP-Link products are a nightmare.
Sad to hear that even though TP-Link created a special one-off firmware just for you it did not help. Your self importance and technical prowess is noted.

Yes, absolutely. TP-Link routers cannot handle high traffic and users.
Glad to know your current setup works. Off you go now...

Anyone facing problems downloading files today? The files will just download then for some reason just fail.  Specifically larger files.

Eg: https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop - download the image
https://github.com/sgossner/VSCO-2-CE - download clone as zip

My friend first faced this issue and I was able to reproduce the problem. Can anyone test?
Tested on edge, chrome, firefox and safari. Both mac and windows. My friend using 850L TM gave and I am using ASUS AC68U.

EDIT: Make sure the file is able to download fully. This problem seem to happen on specific webpages only.

most unifi FTTH user has average ping around 6ms. but that 20ms jitter make that 2ms ping maybe a placebo.

my ip started with 43.x.x.x
using tplink from unifi no luck as well as tenda ac1900 router still not able to get the port working

1) Configure your router to always assign the same LAN IP Address for your device. Network - DHCP Server - Address Reservation. You need to know the MAC Address of your device. You can check it in Status - Clients.

If you don't do this and when you restart your router, it may assign a different LAN IP Address to your device from the one you configured Port Forwarding for and it will cease to work.

2) Setup Port Forwarding for your device. NAT Forwarding - Virtual Servers. You need to know which port needs to be open, and the LAN IP Address of the device.
