QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 10 2019, 05:56 AM) Oh, that's common these days, WeChat Pay CN has cleaned up a lot of non-Chinese verified users. You can refer to last few posts, mostly talk about this. Many people having such issue too but China no. is not required. It's Chinese ID and China bank account for verification. At least this is what I saw from others' screenshot. I think it's by batch, so far I'm OK and not struck yet but even if it requires China no., I will be OK because I have a China no. I do have issue with China ID verification if that happens. I do have a China card and when I went into verification, subsequent page there is a column for China mobile number and listed as compulsory. I don't have China mobile number. I tried to borrow a friend's China mobile number and it doesn't work.

QUOTE(celdric @ Mar 8 2019, 07:27 AM) Well guys, previously I have no issues to collect red packet in WeChat by binding local VISA Credit Card till after CNY. Recently when I try to collect the red packet in WeChat, it prompt me this "according to local regulation, you must add a mainland china bank card to complete your identify information in order to continue using wechat pay". I have try to bind my credit card again, re-install WeChat, register AMEX system forever busy. Any solution to this? Thanks, very much appreciated. Beside China bank account, you also need a China mobile number. That is what I am being asked for. BTW, is it difficult to get a China mobile number for Malaysian? Since it's only for this issue, what's the cheapest plan available? This post has been edited by touristking: Mar 26 2019, 03:05 PM

I understand Wechat pay is very popular in China but was wondering, how useful is it outside of China? For example, can you use it to buy Air Asia or Emirates air tickets? Or make Agoda booking. Or pay your Maxis phone bills etc?

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 2 2019, 08:24 AM) All the services available for us are listed in WeChat Pay Page. Can reload mobile, buy bus tickets, flight tickets via AirPaz and movie tickets. Can book Agoda and Emirates etc via Wechat Pay page?

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 3 2019, 04:43 AM) I don't think so, you can also check from your end. I don't use their service at all, except for mobile reloads. Malaysian mobile reload or China's?

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 3 2019, 04:59 AM) Malaysia no. la. For my China no. reload, I use Taobao as I have more money in Alipay than WeChat Pay CN. then it looks like wechat pay isn't of much use outside of China/China portal.

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 3 2019, 08:16 AM) Yeah, we only use it when there is promo. Like now RM 6.80 promo (I think still available) and Starbucks promo. assuming you have too much money in your wechat. How to take it out? And I don't think wechat will pay you interest.

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 3 2019, 08:21 AM) For Malaysia wallet, can transfer back to your bank account. Just need to do a verification. For China wallet, I leave my money there as I will need to use it anyway when I'm in China. Can you transfer money from Wechat wallet back to your China bank account? Assuming you wanted to, that is.

Not sure where to ask this but thought asking here because those with China wallet will most likely have China Union Pay card.
Have anyone of you use your Union Pay Debit or ATM card to withdraw RM from Malaysian ATM? How was the experience and how much the charges?
