Even China people cannot use CC to transfer money to another person, so I doubt that's gonna work for us.

Well, top up your WeChat/Alipay balance (hint: Shopee) and transfer to them. That's how I usually do to help my relative transfer money back to our relative in China.

For Alipay only, it's still possible for now even with unverified account. WeChat Pay CN no longer possible after accounts cleansing in July, now we will need to have China ID and bank account linked before can receive/transfer fund.

Annual limit is increased to RM100k for 2020.

For now, alipay is a better option. Wechat Pay cannot be used at small vendors with personal account.

Hey there, I have a question. Has anyone tried contacting Wechat Pay China before? I contacted the Malaysian Wechat Pay customer service because my account appeared to have transaction risk from using third party services to top up my RMB balance and they gave me Wechat Pay China's number to call. I tried calling but it says that the call is not recognised. I double checked the number and even on Wechat's own website but it doesn't go through. Anyone had this experience before?

If the sticker shows 'Wechat Pay' in English, then it's accepted, if it's '微信支付' (Chinese), then it's only for mainland Chinese users.
