QUOTE(circusbatman @ Apr 16 2025, 04:20 PM) So where does the 75W from the PCIE slot come in? Is that thing using a total of 695-ish Watts? There was a reviewer i think J2Z or Derbauer or another, cant recall, that did power usage tracking and found that Blackwell somehow prioritise drawing power from 12VHPWR even over the 600W limit, but will use very little from PCIE slot not even close to its 75W limit.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 16 2025, 08:56 PM) Overpriced and outdated by two generations...... Considered latest for that tier segment lah. Nvidia skip doing a xx50 GPU for 40series. Its possible they might skip for 50series as well. If true the xx50 GPU has taken the place of xx30 cards being the most basic but long lived thru few gens.

QUOTE(gacktleong @ Apr 17 2025, 12:26 PM) Do not too obsessed with vram. 5070 > 5060 ti 16gb anytime. Try to understand in a simple way, FPS u get from both 5060 ti 8gb and 16gb are identically in the same setting, just that 16gb can reduce shuttering if 8gb ram is burst / u can use higher texture setting. Of course, u can get a rx 9070 which is more superior if ur budget allows u Fully agreed. No matter what 5070 is still 1 tier performance level above 5060TI. By the time any game that would able to differentiate a 12GB VRAM with 16GB, even 5060TI 16GB would not have been able to outperform 5070 anyhow unless you got an edge like doing a hyperspecific benchmark (ie HUB) that will cripple the 5070 and bring out the 1% lows between these cards.

Disappointing perf from 5060TI but its not like we werent warned, looking at 4060TI results Basically 4060TI 8GB is about 10 FPS more than my 3060TI and new 5060TI 16GB is about 10 FPS more than 4060TI 16GB. Looking at these snail progress, I can safely predict 6060TI will be about 6800XT heck wont even beat 4070 which will be 2 gen old by then. LOL! Geforce has been shitshow since 40series.

QUOTE(Zaszo @ Apr 22 2025, 10:13 AM) I think its best to wait 3 generations rather keep buying new GPU every year as per current situation for Nvdia or consider buying AMD ( with some setback ie not so good RT performance) AMD is just as sucky for the money, as local prices its par for each Nvidia tier segment (non scalper prices) so locally its not worth to buy Radeons when Geforce are plenty of stocks. But what Im trying to say is the generational leap is terrible, looking about 10-12% perf improvement each change when my 3060TI had a 24%(!) jump over 2060Super in just one generation only.

QUOTE(TristanX @ Apr 22 2025, 11:05 AM) As 9070 XT owner, there is still issues. It doesn't like 32-bit sound. Not Microsoft APO compatible. Also, Nvidia driver team is crap for this generation. Radeons got problems. Geforce recently got problems. Better get Intel ARC! Oh wai....

QUOTE(TristanX @ Apr 23 2025, 10:22 AM) According to Derbauer, apparently 50series no longer reports Hotspot temps in monitoring programs whether HWInfo or GPUZ, not sure whether it was totally removed or function hidden behind low level kernel access. However if it worries you, some AIB GPUS have input pins for a thermocouple which you can place at the hottest spot.

QUOTE(circusbatman @ Apr 23 2025, 10:14 PM) Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Planned obsolescence The more you buy the more you save wat! Sez Jensen. So the point is if your not buying every 3.1 years (when warranty just over) Nvidia will MAKE you buy a new Geforce GPU anyhow.

QUOTE(pot @ Apr 23 2025, 10:19 PM) May i know COLORFUL GEFORCE RTX5070TI BATTLE AX 16GB GDDR7 GPU GRAPHIC CARD sell for RM3.8k is a good buy?? and COLORFUL IGAME GEFORCE RTX 5070 ULTRA W OC 12GB GDDR7 GPU around RM2.8K How's the reputation and quality compare to other 3 big branding?? What 1000W or 850W PSU recommended to pair with this 2 model? Budget around RM500 Can i use my existing PSU Cooler master Gold MWE V2 850W with the cable from Cooler master 12VHPWR Adapter Cable Or Suggest to change new PSU with native socket to 16pin? 12VHPWR Cooler MasterThank you. From somewhere else "COLORFUL GEFORCE RTX 5070 Ti NB EX 16GB-V - RM 4059.00" So yeah RM 3.8k is good deal. As for this AIB, its China AIB vs the Big 3 is Taiwan AIB, so Taiwan brands sure more reputable. However Colorful is one of the most solid of China makers and their Vulcan & Neptune overkill lineup can fight with Strix/Astral or Suprim/Waterforce overpriced whales.

QUOTE(John Chaser @ Apr 24 2025, 09:55 AM) Colorful version very much closer to Malaysian MSRP at RM5449: https://brightstarcomp.com/collections/pc-c...f42bb24e6&_ss=cOnly drawback is you need a casing that supports 35cm in length. I went for the Palit 5080 [32cm in length] as it's the one that fits my HAF922 [maxes out at 34cm]. On a related note, shipping from BrightStar is freakin fast. Arrived within the next day. IINM Brightstar is also distro as well as reseller deswai they have stock to ship out immediately after a sale...

Indicative local pricing for 5060TIs MSRP models (ignore the OOS) Imho MSRP pricing isnt bad actually (when available non scalped) if consider that 5070 is nearly RM 1k above the 16GB version Orz This post has been edited by babylon52281: Apr 24 2025, 11:34 AM

Option 1 1stplayer NGDP ATX 3.1 80+GOLD Fully Modular power supply 1000w Option 2 # Super Flower LEADEX III GOLD ATX 3.1 (PCIe 5.1) 80+ GOLD Fully Modular PSU 1000w Budget is around rm500 for psu any recommended? Thanks for advice will hunting 5070ti. Both are well reviewed https://hwbusters.com/psus/1st-player-ngdp-1000w-psu-review/https://hwbusters.com/psus/super-flower-lea...3-1-psu-review/ (guts is the same as 1000W) SF is the more reputable OEM brand over the decades. But Leadex was found to have noisy coil whine, could be batch problem.

QUOTE(John Chaser @ Apr 24 2025, 11:49 PM) PSA, if you have collected 38994 coins in Lazada, you can purchase this RTX 5080 for only RM5034: https://s.lazada.com.my/s.KeIjYIf you have no coins, it'll be RM5424. This is MSI Shadow version which is supposedly MSRP model. Price wise a tad higher than MSRP as its also OC variant, compared 1 mth ago is a huge improvement. But it will suffer in build quality as AFAIK it uses plastic backplate and for such a high powered GPU you would want metal backplate (preferredly with TPads transferring heat to it). Poorer cooling will lead to noisier fans so it will need to be managed.

QUOTE(Zaszo @ Apr 25 2025, 02:25 PM) Based on reviews and benchmark, it would be hard to achieve 4K gaming with 5070TI ( I assuming minimum average 60FPS, but you should look into low 1% rather than average for smooth gaming). But RTX5070 and 5070TI is really good throughout all the game in 1440p. 4K? Borderline boleh lah! At raster With RT will struggle but then so is nearly anything thats not xx90

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 25 2025, 06:46 PM) Ah, bollock......Dotatech just informed me that Zotac RTX 5090 model already been confirmed/booked by another customer....then what is the purpose of telling me that there is unit available? So much for a waiting list. Edit: Update - waiting for further status Solved, stock available. So when your getting it? Ask them to write your name on the box with marker, and take photo send to you. Then you know you have it.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 25 2025, 09:07 PM) Dotatech said they can get new stock on next Monday. Total RM13101 = RM12799 + RM302 (delivery cost + delivery insurance) Not going to take risk without any delivery insurance. Stuff aint cheap. Yeah retail prices still too scalpy, but it is what it is.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 25 2025, 10:12 PM) I checked all official nvidia distributers/dealers here https://www.zotac.com/my/where_to_buy?location=685Even https://www.suncycle.com.my/brand/zotac-gaming/26 sells Zotac RTX5090 AMP Infinity at RM12599, so there that, it is what it is........ In the past, I waited RTX 4090 to fall to MSRP price.....and it never did, then Nvidia stopped RTX 4090 production and I never found RTX 4090 again after RTX 5090 launched. And the second hand Gigabyte RTX 3090 dead within a year plus after I got it......right after the warranty period over......doesn't seem like Mr Arnand armand666 can fix it.... https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4722878Oh wait, why is armand666 being suspended? Any moderator can tell? My RTX 3090 still at his repair shop. 5080 has fallen down to RM 200-300 above MSRP & likely will go down further with time but 5090 which still 2k+ above MSRP? Yea scalper pricing still too high. You wont find it cheaper coz its the distros that are doing the scalping now.

QUOTE(pot @ Apr 25 2025, 10:58 PM) Thanks for the info if not playable then change to 2k resolution, still a big jump from my current 1660S This year OLED price hope to fall. IMHO OLED still imperfect due to risk of burn in with long term regular use. Better just get a good IPS and wait for mini/micro LED to drop in prices over the years.
